The wall tower "Oostenrijk" may be used as an escape room nowadays, it's history is far more interesting. This last remaining wall tower of the medieval city wall, constructed in the late 15th century, is named after Maximilian of Austria, then the overlord of Leiden. The small arch shape visible near the pavement is actually the top of the original entrance gate.

Awesome experience! We just finished the Rembrandt themed escape room in the beautiful tower built in 1485. Our sixth or seventh escape room and definitely the best. Lovely staff, beautiful building, excellent quality puzzles and a great theme. It was the first escape room for our children, aged 8, 10 and 12 and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Creative escape with a little bit of Rembrandt history and of course Leiden. Great activity with groups take are seeking a little challenge, and break from the regular activities. Unless the game changes you can only enjoy this escaperoom once, so you better do.

Fun experience! Great way to get cultural insights about Leiden and Rembrandt.

This is an excellent escape room to try. The back story was set up very well (all in English for us) and we were briefed on what to expect, also with a secure place for bags. A small group worked well - we had 3 people. We had an hour to work through the room which had excellent puzzles and was very creative. We were so close to the end but didn't escape, so close! It was well thought out and a good hour to get you thinking.

Hostess was very knowledgeable about the history of the building. Her storytelling was an experience in and of its own. The room was challenging and fun. The decor was spot-on. Our group was partly Dutch and partly English, we played in English and we could all follow. Also suitable for families with children. No horror elements.

Set in a beautiful old building and it was a very interactive, fun escape room. Our host Tessa was fantastic and got us really excited for the escape room; the room itself had many fun, challenging puzzles. Our group of six all enjoyed, and I would certainly recommend it!

the best escape room I was in yet! It is a bit more difficult than the ones I did before, which I find very nice. We had a very good time! The location is beautiful :)
