This
used
to
be
the
BEST
chippy
in
Wallasey,
if
not
the
Wirral!
Sadly,
this
is
past
tense.
I
wasn't
aware
that
Monica
had
left
or
passed
the
running
on
to
another
member
of
her
family;
but
locally
it
was
known
as
"Monica's"
and
this
indicates
why
her
absence
has
had
such
an
impact
on
the
quality
of
the
food.
As
others
have
observed,
the
prices
have
gone
up
significantly
on
several
occasions
and
as
business
have
struggled
during
the
pandemic,
prices
have
had
to
rise
-
this
is
understandable.
This
would
be
easier
to
swallow
(no
pun
intended)
if
the
quality
of
the
food
remained
high,
but
it
hasn't.
They
appear
to
use
a
lot
of
frozen
produce
in
their
products
that
are
added
in
to
dishes
and
not
always
cooked
thoroughly.
I've
had
peas
in
a
rice
dish
that
you
could
have
used
as
bullets!
Not
sure
if
they
do
a
lot
of
takeaway,
e.g.
Just
Eat,
but
my
experience
is
that
they
get
a
lot
of
orders
wrong
and
have
even
missed
ingredients
out
of
the
meals;
still
remember
my
recent
"chickenless
fried
rice".
In
fairness
they've
always
apologised
and
replace
them
when
informed.
Their
boiled
rice
is
often
cold
and
stodgy
so
we
ended
up
always
"upgrading"
to
fried
rice
at
extra
cost.
A
lot
of
their
Chinese
menu
dishes
are
simply
a
prepared
sauce
and
the
vegetables
added
in
as
an
afterthought;
we've
had
several
dishes
with
raw
vegetable
(carrots,
onions,
etc)
with
no
time
to
cook,
heat
up
or
take
on
the
flavours
of
the
dish.
They
still
do
great
English
meals,
e.g.
chips,
fish,
etc.
Sad
demise
of
a
great
local
chippy
-
we
now
use
BIG
FISH
in
Trafalgar
Road,
so
still
keeping
our
business
local.
