The doctors and registrars are great, but the one thing that brings this surgery down is the reception staff. They are rude and extremely insensitive. They have no consideration for what the patients might be going through. They laugh and gossip about their lives quite loudly behind the glass without considering that patients could be at the surgery for life changing medical conditions. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

Absolute sham of a practice !!!!! You'll be dead by the time you get an appointment. My dad has been having funny turns with his heart and dizzy spells , trying to get into this place is like trying to get an audience with the pope. It's one surgery in the middle of 1 area. They can not cope with the numbers. Warrington hospital has the script sorted, temp check , no masks and straight in and out. This place the receptionist tries to diagnose you first. I don't know what is going on or who is running this sinking ship but maybe see how other practices are doing it and take a leaf. Believe me if anything happens to my father I won't rest until I get this place shamed all over the place.

Always loved this GP surgery, certain staff are so helpful, friendly & will go above and beyond for you. However, sadly it is a small few that spoil it for many. I must have informed the surgery multiple times my address was incorrect which was never updated meaning I missed hospital visits. I rang for my NHS number to provide my new GP surgery and was told I need to get my new GP surgery to e mail Birchwood medical centre and they will request it, which may take 2 weeks. I informed them I need this asap as I am awaiting for letters from the hospital as I've just been discharged and they will send it to a wrong address which I've told you isn't mine, but I need to register at this GP surgery so they have my new address. The woman said sorry "there is no other way to get that number" I hung up and googled how to get my NHS number. There it was NHS website which told me to input your surname and postcode... They text it me 2 seconds later. I'm not having it that this woman didn't know you could do that and she could clearly hear how desperate I was to obtain this number. Lazy, incompetent staff spoil it for many as I can only imagine if it was an older person ringing and being thobbed off like that they might not have been clued up to go online to search. I wonder how many important appointments have been missed due to admin errors which are never rectified after being told countless times, wrong address issues or general laziness of staff not directing customers in the right direction on obtaining NHS numbers or information that is easierly obtained. She actually gave me a full long e mail address to give to my new GP surgery for their admin department to e mail Birchwood medical centre if they can have my NHS number for them to accept & reply so that my new GP surgery can register me there which I was told can take 2 weeks...and she said there was NO OTHER WAY. She needs disciplinary action taken towards her.

Amazing doctors that always go the extra mile. Generally amazing receptionist staff, Lorraine is amazing and always helpful. It’s a shame about the other receptionist that fails to deliver a friendly and understanding service and instead puts the phone down mid sentence as if she simply cannot be bothered to listen. Not really what you expect from a doctors receptionist therefore it’s a good job the others make up for this.

I have made a 'telephone' appointment with Dr Muhammad, last week, for 9 days after I rang. However, things have changed, not for the better. I put a note into the surgery on Friday, explaining the changed situation. I tried to ring the surgery this morning, without success. Rang again at 2pm today, asking to speak directly with Doctor. Reception told me he could not be contacted, 'ring again Tuesday morning',(with probably the same result) at 9am. We all try our best, not to mither our health professionals during this time. But there are limits to what we should expect and the service we are getting.

Can't say I'm impressed with the receptionists. As to me it's obvious they have their favourites, who they will go above and beyond for. Trying to get them sorted with appointments etc.. Where as the rest of of us are treated like just another number. Who are more of a bother than anything else. The stars I give are for most of the doctors I've dealt with. Some, not all. Are very nice and even treat you like a real person and not just another piece of meat.

Had the pleasure of a consult with Dr Usman Mohammed. He is a fantastic and thorough GP who listened and didn’t rush me at all. I also had to check something out with receptionist Anne-Marie who was very pleasant and helpful and speedily resolved my query. All in all I was very happy with the service at Birchwood Medical Centre.

Waited 2 weeks for a telephone appointment regarding my neck, back and knee and was told I needed to be seen in person (what they would be able to do over the phone god only knows). Got a face to face appointment 2 weeks later and told I need physio. Received a text reminder today about a physio appointment that was in 30 minutes time whilst in work but I hadn’t been informed so couldn’t attend. Now another 2 weeks in agony and struggling to walk and sleep. 6 weeks in absolute agony due to incompetence on their behalf. The absolutely worst doctors I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with.

What do I have to do come to your windows and drop my pants to show you glads the size of golf balls to show hang on i have a medical emergency going on I need an appointment. To whom ever is answering the phone this morning your attitude is the whole reason why the practice is a joke.

Gone are the glory days when it was run by Dr Redfearn and Dr Partiniott. This used to be a five star surgery. No idea why it’s now as bad as it is. Trying to get an appointment is tough, granted it’s a busy practice, but when you actually call in to make appointment and the receptionist is chatting to someone about their holidays it makes you realise why you are on hold for so long. There are never any online appointments, the new Patches system is never available. Can it get any worse?

Not the biggest one but good enough for Birchwood area in my opinion. Friendly service and you can get an appointment quickly.

All the Doctors, Nursing Staff, Back Office Staff and Receptionists are generally very good. I have not found any of the receptionists rude, but when under pressure, they can get economical with their time which is to be expected. I have had trouble with the 'back office' staff regarding admin issues, prescription mistakes and so on, but again, being polite with them can help them serve us better. I was with Greenbank Surgery in Warrington before this one and they were OK, but this surgery is a lot better.

This is a fantastic Medical Centre, can’t believe the negative reviews, the receptionists always go the extra mile ( especially Lorraine) . My Family have been patients here since 1977! ( when it was Parker’s Farm ) . Paul & Carol Mulvey.

Other than Lorraine who is lovely, the reception staff are rude and abrupt. I have an ongoing condition, phoned at 9am to get told they have nothing! Ended up at a walk in centre who have given me antibiotics and if no better in two days may need to be admitted for IV antibiotics I’m that poorly. But it seems impossible to even get a call back from a doctor nowadays, but thankfully the doctors are nice. The moment you complain or get upset it’s like you get blacklisted.

Went to the eye testing center. Extremely skilled staff (Andy). Didn't retake eye scans and was quickly done with least amount of eye drop sessions and halo effects

Waited 50 minutes on hold until I could speak to someone to arrange an appointment. They take up to 3 weeks to process registration forms/ID/Proof of Address which is far too long - considering many surgeries will allow one to provide documentation, then arrange an appointment that same day.

Dr Elo is by far one of the best GPs I've been too - suffering from so many problems I have never felt so heard and understood by a clinician - everyone goes above and beyond and admin / reception have always been helpful. People need to give GP practices a bit of slack as they're doing everything they can to deal with an over-populated area

Absolute Joke!!! Rang at 8am to try and get an appointment, got a message saying i was No22 in the phone queue. My call was answered after 25 mins on hold by a receptionist who coughed down the phone at me. Tried to get an appointment with my doctor ( whoever he is ) and was told he isnt in today as he works part time. Asked for appt next week when he is back and was told they cant book appointments in advance, only on the day!!! What use is that?? I asked to have my details removed from the practice and apparently they couldnt do that either!! Dont waste your time with this place - USELESS

😠 If I could give a 0 star review I would. Absolute disgrace of a health centre. Reception staff think their bouncers. No respect on the phone. Not one little bit helpful. Doctors don’t even do their job properly. Stealing a wage from the nhs. Needs a big shakeup!

😠 The worst GP !! Many times I booked appointments for little kids but I haven't seen yet in the past and from my experience that can be the worst treatment given every single time from different doctors. I attended with emergency appointments few times where doctor during the COVID took off the mask...
