Popped in after doing a 10k run hot and sweaty and in need of some water. Politely asked the old guy cleaning tables if he could grab me a cup / glass of tap water. His reply “sorry, we can only serve customers” now that’s fair enough, but if someone is clearly hot, sweaty and in need of water you would expect them to say “sure, give me a moment” and grab you a glass of water. Atrocious service! I will never spend a penny in the place again and will most definitely advise everyone I know to visit more polite and other local cafe’s for better service and quite frankly better coffee!

In 2023 the fact they just refused to provide chips and beans as there were no vegan or vegetarian kids options is mental. Bllankly refused to serve chips and beans without charging for chicken nuggets!? Is it 1995? Just serve a few less chips few beans and charge for chips. It’s not rocket science. There are no vegan cakes “because they don’t keep” - I mean just how long are you keeping cakes on display!? The ones I make at home last 4 days. Gutted because love this park and area. A decent cafe would put this park as a contender for best in the country.

Appealing service. Check the reviews here. Lots of people say they waited 45 mins. Totally unacceptable when you have kids!! I waited 20 mins and only got my families food after asking a member of staff. I did this as l asked another customer sitting there looking very frustrated how long they'd been waiting - and he said 45 mins! After getting my food l recommended to other parents not waiting more than 10 mins before getting on the case of staff to ask where it is. You're better off getting food from a local supermarket to eat in the park - as hungry children can't be sitting around in sun waiting to to eat for such a long time. Please employ more staff in critical areas and less serving ice creams at the front!

RUDE STAFF! Please read other reviews about staff. We sat outside today and ordered food and drinks. My children have special dietary requirements and we made them food from home. We were approached by the manager who said we were not allowed picnics as there are designated areas in the park. I would understand this more if we didn’t order any food or drinks. No common sense at all and this will only be putting off any repeat customers. Such a shame really as the park has everything for kids / families! Be warned, don’t eat any of your own food on the premises.

I went in with my two young children for ice cream and food. Whilst queuing an unfriendly lady (manager I think) told a child off in a harsh manner for wandering to a section of the cafe that allegedly wasn’t open to the public, literally behind two tables. Seemed really unpleasant. She then walked around the cafe in a hostile manner. I noticed her watching me and my children like a hawk. We were told off several times for really petty things, like my son eating a small amount of left over crisps from another shop. Also, she didn’t like the way my son was behaving with the ‘very expensive table chairs’ 😂 😂 Honestly , I don’t think she likes children or how to speak to them nicely. I couldn’t be bothered to complain about her approach or behaviour. We just left.

Early morning swim. Very pleasant staff, clean pool + facilities. St. Nic's Pk. Cafe, illy coffee, need l say more☕️😁 Know this park for 60 years. Never looked so good. Well done all who work here. Very much appreciated 🙏

Surprised at so many bad reviews. Ive been here many times with my children. Always find staff friendly and helpful. When my granddaughter bumped her head, they gave her an ice pack and a drink. Also when my car broke down in the car park on a hot day, they let me use their mobile phone and offered me some water and to sit inside whilst waiting for breakdown recovery. The food is simple but tasty and there are loads of different ice cream flavours! The building itself is very small and a bit run down. The toilets are elsewhere in the park, but close by. It could also do with more outside seating but space is limited.

45mins wait for a plate of burnt chips. Expensive, tastes horrible. Bacon burnt in panini. Salad was one slice of cucumber and half a slice of tomato. Shocking, genuinely shocking. And no, it wasn't busy at all
