Very Beautiful place. Even if all areas are close ,this area is not closed during winter. Summer time allows busy. Very beautiful sunset. Clean water . Wasaga Beach is really big.

The awe & beauty of the park is unchanged with the roaring of the waves & protected sand dunes but sadly, the traffic, abundance of water sports & masses of tourists are somewhat of a draw back. Be prepared for lengthy line ups, crowded beaches & excessive noise. Limited amenities and park fees applicable. Preference for more rustic rather than commercialized provincial park.

Wonderful freshwater sand beach. Best midweek to avoid crowds. 6 public beach areas under the banner of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Town, accommodations, dining, shopping and its people is an eclectic mix of the old and the new. Continually changing by the season and the occasion. If one is particular about any one of these things best to invest some time understanding whereabout you are headed. Something there for everyone. Bottom line is you should expect that you will have a good time!

I was there yesterday weekend, the beach is very clean and organized well, very nice for kids as water is shallow so you can leave your kids on water and keep watching them without any worries, don't pay any swimming floaties as the are so expensive, parking is very easy either Municipal parking and pay per hour or all day parking(private), I paid 15$ for all day parking and we stayed for 6 hours, there are lots of stores you can enjoy walking while see stores and the beach side as well.

Grungy green slime all along the after edge. (See my photos and videos) And then lumps of brown sludge that stinks. (Photos show this too) Not sure what happened to the water up here but it’s pretty foul smelling not sure if it’s safe. Parking is a whooping $21 a day no matter how long you’re staying. The guards at the gate will run you down to get it. Also new is these parks guys on atv’s (all terrain vehicles) driving up and down the beach all day. Super noisy and annoying. Not as nice as it used to be. *** Also lots of rocks πŸͺ¨ πŸͺ¨ πŸͺ¨ in the water watch your toes! And parking lot is sand - not good for elderly or people with balance issues. Overall this beach is degrading. Going to check out Wasaga beach 1, 2,3,4,5 next time if we even go back to the area. If you have other recommendations I would love to hear it!

This is a very sweet beach. Full of tourists from all parts of the world. This beach is different from other beaches around Toronto area. There are bars opposite the beach, my favorite is the beach bar. Parking could be difficult on very busy days but paid parking is available. There are alot of resort around the beach for those looking to stay. Many visitors are able to swim in this beach. Some nearby local shops sell beach items and clothing. The beach has different areas for different purposes including sports zone, and pets zone. Don't be discouraged with the long drive from town to this place. You'll definitely love it here.

Best beach ever! Soft sand, shallow warm water and beautiful views. What more can I ask for? Parking space is ample and convenient, there different food and beach supplies shops around and during summer months, there's always some festival going on. Make sure you come in early on the weekend to get a closer spot to the water.

Very nice clean beach. It has washrooms, so many car parks but it is always packed with vehicles and people. Clean water, shallow beach and sandy. Windy days it can get really rough but still can enjoy because it is shallow for some meters inside. Big beach and middle part where the main entrance is the happening place and either sides are for more family type beach. There are benches (picnic tables) and shades (structures with roofs). Nudity not allowed. No dogs allowed. You need to pay $22 for the vehicle pass. Right now Mondays to Thursdays it is free parking. After 4pm most people who came early will leave and you should be able find a spot to park and in the beach. Enjoy!!!

One of the best beaches I've visited. The beach is huge, as far as your eyes can see, and is very clean and warm. Ps: I was very impressed by the Piping Plover nesting zone that had been restricted to give those endangered birds their space.

Beautiful beach! I like this beach because it is clean and sandy. It's a good beach for kids as it is shallow for the first 20ft or so. There are many restaurants and shops along the beach path which makes it a good tourist attraction. Only complaint is parking is rather steep. I was only planning to stay for 2hrs but had to pay the flat fee of $10. Good for a day price but not a quick visit. Would come again but I would look into cheaper parking.

Wasaga Beach stands out as one of the best places I have visited thus far. Wasaga Beach is an exceptional destination that left a lasting impression on me. The expansive shoreline, soft sand, and clear waters create a picturesque setting. The overall atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. Whether you're seeking relaxation, water activities, or a leisurely stroll along the beach, Wasaga offers it all. Additionally, the local amenities and friendly community enhance the overall experience. It's undeniably a must-visit destination for beach enthusiasts and those looking for a memorable getaway.

Wasaga Beach brings back amazing memories from my childhood. My family and I use to visit this beach each summer. We rented a near by cottage and spent days relaxing and having fun on the beach. I must share that returning to the beach as an adult recently really was nostalgic. I was amazed to see how well kept the beach was. No garbage in site, in fact the garbage truck was rolling by to collect the garbage from the bins. The water was clear just as I remembered it and the view of Blue Mountain in the horizon still stunning and gave me that island vibe.

Beautiful sunset! We accidentally parked in the staff lot and the park rangers were very nice about explaining where we needed to go. Sunset photos were taken at 9:30pm. No filters. Beautiful.

A site with a historical past and its own geographic history. Nice beach with chattering seagulls. They say it's also a good place to watch the sunset. We had afternoon tea at a terrace restaurant with a view of the lake. The closer you get to the beach, the more expensive the parking lot is. The parking lot by the beach was 25 dollars when you entered and 20 dollars when you came out. And, no matter how long you park, the price is the same. I'm not sure about the price of the public parking lot, but it's 15 dollars a day just a block away.

Fun place to visit and enjoy. It's an incredible super long super wide sandy beach and it's worth a visit. It's only about and hour and half from Toronto and it's wonderful and relaxing. Parking is nearby and shop around it ranges fro. $8 to $20 per day. Parking enforcement is fierce so pay yoir tickets before going about to enjoy your day.

Wasaga beach is gorgeous though it can be very crowded at times. We went there after 4 PM, so we were able to get a parking spot very near to the beach. The parking charges are not very high, although getting a spot can be tricky. The beach is beautiful, and the water is warmer than Lake Ontario. The water depth for a few meters is not very deep, So it was safe to send the kids alone in the water (while keeping an eye on them). The views are vast, and you can also see the blue mountains. The trail crosses the beach, and it’s beautiful. There are so many picnic spots and table picnic tables there. If you walk a little bit farther away from the main parking area, as you will see, there are so many picnic benches and tables under the trees. The sand is soft. You’re also going to find lots of seashells. There are some beautiful logs along the beach where you can sit, can create some kind of privacy with them or just enjoy the view from there. The more deeper you go, the stronger the waves get.

AMAZING!!!! We had the best time. Weather was great, not too hot or not too cold. We went on a Thursday. Beach 1 and 2 are the most popular because they are near the stores and food trucks. Beach 3, 4 and 5 are not as busy and mostly private.

White sandy beach, shallow water. Worlds longest freshwater beach. Lots of parking. Really loved it - we did barbecue also. A lovely beach to relax. Not much crowd yesterday.

Nice park. Just a day use park and no camping allowed. It's busy in some part of the park, but you can definitely find a place if you are looking for a peaceful area.

One of the nicest and certainly longest beach in Ontario. Water is warmer than most beaches and quite shallow, great for kids. Quite a few choices of fast food so you don't have to leave the beach for food. Despite being on the biggest beaches, it tends to get pretty crowded especially on weekends. Lots of parking lots around but it's not cheap.

  • 5/5 Adri S. 10 months ago on Google
Wasaga is a long beach, busy in summer and crowded, you could hear music from people who has it on beach, playing footbal, volleyball or any other games, there are also pubs, ice cream shops or shops with clothes to buy swimming suites, clothes, shorts, umbrelas etc. Parking is somewhere $20 per day, or $6 per hour. The cheapest is $15 per day. There are multiple parking spots all around beach with washroom facilities. In summer the water is not that clean as so many people are around. However, if you wanna have fun and want noise and entertainment - Wasaga is for you.

Top class beach… largest freshwater beach in the world. Worth the visait. Go deep in the water for fresh water… coast can be muddy due to crazy number of tourists but all in all a must visit to this place! Worth every penny going from Barrie.

I really liked this beach compared to other beaches like Sauble beach. All basic facilities available and lots of food options just across the beach. Ample of parking. Strongly recommended.

It's a nice beach for a day out. We visited with a group for friends and enjoyed a lot. It has shallow water for really long stretch. So it gives a pool type feeling and really good for bath and playing in the water during summer. Beach is also very long. It's on Huron and west facing so we can see great sunsets if we can stay really late or stay in wasaga itself for the night. Only cons is it's too crowded. If you like people you will enjoy this beach. If you want to spent some we time or alsone time , there are better options for that. This is the closest beach from GTA where people can really enjoy beach time during summer. For anybody and everybody.

We loved the beach here because it is not as crowded as the public beach, but still close enough to walk to the main part of Wasaga. Unfortunately the bathrooms were closed and only portapotties were there.

Longest fresh water beach in the world, I went on Labour Day weekend and stayed in Collingwood, the beach was 25 mins from my hotel, the route to the beach was scenic, parking was a mess as there were seas of people visiting the beach, every nook and corner of the beach was occupied. The beach was superb, you can go quite far in the water to enjoy. There were ample washrooms around, shops, food stalls etc.

Amazing beach .... its crowded at the main area but near the houses its empty and enjoyable. If ur not going for a day trip then id recommend getting a decent cottage near the beach. Main area has washrooms and eating places etc ...
