Very cool museum! Very informative and spacious, the artwork is bright and impressive, the location is perfect because right after you can catch a view at the pier ☀️

I visit this museum at least once a year. In October, we attended an exhibition dedicated to works of organic watercolor. The announcement suggested exploring paintings and drawings from the MFA's permanent collection using water-based media like ink, gouache, and watercolor. To our surprise, one of the first exhibits was a painting done with acrylics. The exhibition space was limited, and the composition of the works seemed poorly thought out. Thankfully, the ticket included access to the regular exhibition. There, we enjoyed the culture and exhibits from the Renaissance era and earlier periods. Overall, I love this museum and will continue to visit.

I like that there's a wide variety of art but the museum itself isn't that big. You can easily go through it in 60 to 90 minutes. That's fine but given that, the ticket price is a little steep for what you get. As a result, I recommend going on the first weekend of every month with a Bank of America card so it's free.

Wow wow wow!!! This museum is breathtaking. They have such range in exhibits. They have some modern pieces, sculpture, and so much ancient art! They have ancient art from a diverse group of places, if you are into archaeology I highly recommend this museum. There’s so much culture and religion discussed with the ancient art, it is so cool to learn about. You will be in awe of the things they have and the history they hold as well as the skills required to make the art! You will also need a map because it is big inside. Go as soon as you can, it was an unforgettable experience. Staff was great. It was no wait to get in. Museum maps right there for you before you walk in. It was $80 for 3 adults and 1 college student though :\

Great Museum with a fantastic Showing. Women Photographers exhibit is very well put together. Oldest piece in the museum is 4700 years old. Gives me goose bumps to be in its presence. Thank you.

Sat outside and watched amazing New Year's Eve fireworks. Very nice small museum with interesting collection. The architecture is old world and relaxing, especially the small courtyards. They hold celebrations here too. A truly elegant venue.

I really enjoyed the Bernini Roman Baroque exhibit today. A nice museum with ease of viewing and polite crowds. I just wish there were more docents available at he exhibit as I couldn't get a simple question answered... But other than that.... Top notch

This is such a lovely place to visit with friends, alone or with the family. There is so much to see and only so much time in a day! Check out the Antioch exhibit as well as the Renaissance exhibit. Absolutely fabulous collections!

It was nice, the museum had art from ancient to modern. They have a little cafe inside too (all the exhibits are grouped together on the first floor). The sculpture garden and the membership garden were closed for a wedding rehearsal, so sadly I wasn't able to see them.

We went for a Birthday Celebration! This museum had some very nice pieces. Also the exhibits were intriguing. We had lunch at the restaurant/cafe which offered a variety of tasty treats, healthy lunch items, coffee, tea, and smoothies.

This museum earns five stars, but honestly it's not because it's the best museum in the world, it's because it's located in Saint Petersburg Florida. This is about as much is anyone could hope for outside of Boston, New York or Chicago. It's well organized, very well-kept, with a nice rounded collection. There's literally something here for all art lovers. About $22 per person to get in, with discounts available for most (military, retired etc.)

Went here due to a homework assignment for my humanities class it was very nice and clean had detailed information about the pieces. Also I only paid $15 due to student discount so couldn't complain! Very beautiful piece pictures do them no justice.

What a fantastic museum! It offers so many works of art from different genres and time periods, from ancient to modern. The pieces are arranged in a logical way and the sections of the museum flow well.

Visiting the MFA is the perfect way to spend a weekend morning! The museum was featuring great artwork. In particular we enjoyed the ‘Explore The Vaults’ collection. Parking can be challenging, especially on the weekend, as the museum doesn’t have many available spaces & this part of St. Pete is always busy. Arrive early or look at near by garages within walking distance to avoid fighting the parking crowds.

An amazing range of artworks from all around the world. The museum followed COVID guidelines such as mask-wearing, temperature checks, and outlining a new “safe capacity” for all the rooms. Totally worth the time.

The MFA contains a wide range of artworks from various places and from various time periods. It is well laid out and contains a good mix of paintings and sculpture/artifacts. Pro Tip: If you don’t want to take a tour with a docent, there are excellent paper guides directly to the right of the door as you enter the main display area. They each focus on a specific topic. You would be sure to find one that would interest you.

It was wastebof money. There was only two rooms open for general public and there was nothing else that was open. The other rooms were open only for memebers which they said would be 60+150$. There was no notice or anything about the restrictions on the rooms and they charged me full price even though the museum was closed for renovations or if the rooms were not available for public. it was waste of money for just the two room of photograhs.

nice museum to spend 1-2 hours. The selection of art is quite small, but the garden and surrounding area is nice. The pastries at the cafe were wonderful, and the view is nice to enjoy a treat after looking around the museum. If you go on a day with less people, walking around is quiet and peaceful.

Paid $12 to see 2 rooms with old news paper cuttings attached to walls in just 10 mins. Utterly stupid as they allow the remaining to general public from oct 27th.

There is so much to enjoy at this museum. They have a diverse collection spanning the ages from Ancient Greece to Hindu art, Dutch Maters to Impressionists, sculpture and more. The museum is perfect for all its great works. There is a fine touch of music that is chosen to pipe in the the galleries that highlights the experience. Finally very good Covid precautions so you feel safe.

This is a visual piece of art from the grounds of the museum to the facade to the interior to the art. It sits at ground zero for downtown St Pete nestled between the water and the multiple restaurants and high rise condos. Escape from civilization and enter a world of first class art forms from the old masters to free wheeling folks determined to express themselves visually. Take time to muse over the reason people created what they did. Don't rush through the museum or you'll miss the tranquility and peace it offers.

What a great surprise! Great collection of pieces, including some well known Monet's! I thought their collection of post-war art was wonderful and thought-provoking. The Mermaid experience was... interesting though. To each their own! Bank of America card members get a free day once a month, love that

Very good small museum with an eclectic collection. Some Tiffany, Sukhothai statues, a great painting by Fletcher Martin with a referee holding up Jersey Joe Walcott, Monet, O’Keeffe, Rodin, and a large collection of African art. Nice outdoor cafe with gardens and statues. Definitely worth a couple of hours.

It wasn't busy at all on a Saturday in November 2023. I loved the water/ocean exhibit that is there until April(if I remember correctly). Such a variety of old school art and mediums to scope out! Parked at a parking garage and then went to eat at a place an employee recommended that was walking distance from the museum. Great place to go for soaking in art, enjoying being close to the water, and having a nice meal nearby.

It was okay. I feel like museums are always to be a bit on the chilly side. In fact, I embrace that as a museum feel; however, that wasn't the experience here. I sort of felt bad for the art in that manner. I always enjoy a little baroque, so that was nice. Quick! But nice. It's worth going once. Once 😉

Beautiful musuem, great exhibits, worth the trip! Only downside is you WILL wait 20 minutes at the Cafe for a $10 coffee that taste like hot bath water, then just when you thought it couldn't get worse, security will approach you and WALK you to the security station to CHECK IN your beverage before you can enjoy any of the exhibits. Needless to say by the time I checked out my already awful drink was even worse. My 3 stars is only for the 1 nice security guard and the exhibit itself was stunning!

The location, building and grounds are lovely. Disappointed in the collection. A scattered, disjointed array of pieces themed Art in Nature. Very few by well know artists. This wouldn’t be in my top tier of places to visit in St. Pete.

Museum of Fine Arts is an amazing wedding venue! Plenty of space and opportunities for images outside around the museum and inside the space is truly transformed. The team who worked at the Museum was truly incredible and worked along side me as if we had been working together for YEARS. Communication was spot on, Jeremy & Mike both made sure everything was perfect and they were available to help when and if needed. The entire wedding day went flawlessly and I owe it to the team at the Museum for stepping in when needed. If you're considering getting married at the Museum of Fine Arts I highly recommend! Lastly, prior to the wedding Caylie was my venue point of contact; she was incredibly kind, fast to respond and knowledgeable. She was a joy to work with!

I have lived in Tampa for 50 years and didn't know about this museum until my sophomore daughter wanted to go there. I was pleasantly surprised that. I signed up for a family annual membership. This museum was just the right size with the right combination of art and displays. At lunch, we took a break and went to a nearby restaurant. I wish that experience was as pleasant as the museum.

It was a great experience and totally complimented my trip. They have a great collection of artifacts and frames. Plenty of areas very well organized by era and region. I wish it had a guide to tour and and lecture us on a few things. Also, parking get really difficult so allocate time. Tickets price are great and staff is very polite. A must go if you are in Fl.

Hello Fellow Explorers. The Museum of fine arts in St Petersburg Florida is as breathtaking outside as it is inside. The beautiful backdrop of St Petersburg Florida along the coastline is a stunning and picturesque view that is only made more authentic by the wide range of beautiful art inside. You could lose yourself in contemplation as you explore each piece of art and each artist. The depth and vantage point of each artist is a whole new world unto itself to explore and revisit. Truly a must see and do on your itinerary.

This museum is small, but has a nice collection of different mediums, regions, and periods. I think the Early American and 1600s Dutch galleries are the most impressive. You can tell it was designed to appeal to visitors - I really liked how the placards for each of the objects displayed is both informative and interesting. Unlike some other museums I've visited, you don't have to be any kind of "expert" to understand the explanations and enjoy the collections, but there's enough detail to keep the experts happy as well. I don't think this would be the best museum for small children, as you need to be able to read to appreciate most of the displays.

Went for the first time when they had the Star Wars costume exhibit, which was absolutely amazing! Got a chance to explore the rest of the museum for a bit. I didn't get to see everything, but they had a lot of interesting artifacts on display. I especially liked the room with Japanese swords and a full set of samurai armor. Would love to go back and check out the rooms I didn't get to see.

PLEASE BE AWARE that the MFA of St. Petersburg NO LONGER HONORS NARM OR SERM memberships. We are very, very disappointed.

Amazing! From ancient art 2000 - 4000, the French Impressionists (Monet), American (Rockwell and Wyeth), and their Buddhist/Hindu collection, this is a serious museum. Beautiful spaces, a sculpture garden and plenty of social distancing - and a friendly helpful staff.

Located in the heart of action in st pete. Excellent restaurants and movie near by. Also hotels, cafes, marina, water recreation, near the st pete airport where flights are available. Gem gem gem and super valuable the price of the museum. Only about $20!!! Beautiful outside areas too. Feel free to come dressed and take pictures for social media or art.
