The ambience is nice. A lot of tables on the floor with interesting interior design. Service was not that good. They forgot about our drinks. After two reminders they just put it on the table and left with no apology or whatever. And when I asked for the second time about our drinks which did not come in 45 minutes the waitress seemed annoyed by reminder. Then they forgot our bread. Same happened here. We did not have cutlery in the cutlery station on the table so we asked for cutlery and we have been told that we have them on the table which we did not, so it took us forever to get cutlery with reminders and irritated staff which eventually annoyed us. Food was good. Not the best seafood as prawns were a bit dry. Scallops and fish were well prepared. Octopus was divine. Dessert was ok. I would not recommend only because of the service provided. It’s not very expensive but for this experience it was way too overpriced to be treated like that. Food took forever to come too.

It's so nice that you have to go to the fish monger to chose your fish before they cook it. The atmosphere is great, super good wine recommendation, food is excelent. Loved the place, can't wait to go back

I do like the concept of this restaurant, but I think a few things could be improved to enhance the experience. It's really cool that you can see the fresh fish and select what you would like to eat. What I didn't like is that you don't see the prices of the fish anywhere - it would be better to have labels where you can see how much 100g is, for example. I love fine dining, and I'm ok with spending money on good food, but I prefer it when it's transparent how much you're actually spending. I'm sure we could have asked the fishmonger, but that's a bit awkward, so it's better just to have it on display for everyone to see. The second thing I didn't like was that the whole experience felt a bit rushed. We had barely sat down when the first dish arrived, and then everything came out at the same time as well, which meant that some dishes were cold by the time we got to eat them. Taste-wise, it was quite good, some dishes were excellent. Staff was friendly.

While the concept is different and the food was fresh and tasty at that price I do not expect to queue. I was kept waiting to check in as the person on the front desk had to deal with a number of colleagues and people leaving. After selecting our drinks I got the joy of carrying it to our table that I had to wait for. Then I find out I have to share the table with another couple. All of this is great if you are at McDonald's but I was not. Change up for theatre experience as waiting, carrying and doing everything except cooking the fish is not what I pay for.

I can’t say that a lot in Amsterdam, but the food here is super nice! In this Italian restaurant, everything it’s about fish. Experience is super nice. You change rooms to choose what you’re going to eat and what you’re going to drink and then at the end you sit at your table. The décor is incredible and I think you’re going to have a good time

One of the most unique experiences I’ve had in a restaurant. You are greeted at the with a class of sparkling wine after which you are shown to the waiting bar area. There you can get any other drinks you like and also choose a few starters they offer like oysters and Calamari. Then you are called by the staff to choose what you will be eating at the “Theatre” area. There is a huge variety of fish and seafood to select from, and the staff helping you will tell you about how each different ingredient you choose will be prepared. After this step you are moved to a wine selection area where the sommelier will match you with wine based on your selected dishes. From there it’s on to the actual eating which was just amazing. Freshest fish and seafood we’ve had, made in clever and interesting ways. All in all, this was a perfect eating experience, but I dropped one star because they charged us for the sparkling wine and the sparkling water, even though it seemed as if it was complimentary. This might be some standard I’m not familiar with, and I might be too optimistic to think they will hand out free wine, but just something about it felt like they’re tricking you to into spending more money. All in all I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any friend visiting Amsterdam, and I will definitely be back.

Great experience, nice staff, good atmosphere and amazing food! The unique concept is explained very well and the staff is helpful with explaining everything. The fish is the freshest you can get, and is cooked to perfection. The starter bread with their homemade butter is incredible and i recommend you get it. Fried Calamari was crispy and delicious, and the tuna steak, sashimi, octopus, and monk fish were equally good. The sauce that the monkfish comes with is so good, i recommend dipping some bread in it! Would definitely come back here!

We melted down in the warm welcome from the moment we stepped into this amazing place. We ordered: -Tarbot fish 7/10 Average (we don't like the cream sauce , but the fish it self it was was tasty ) " One of my friends, who has only been here once! , advised me not to order fish from Pesca and suggested enjoying other stuff. and after my experience I partially agreed with him 😅🙏 -calamari 9/10 -Octopus 8/10 ( like the cooking and the seasonings and the vegetables that came on the side was amazing ) - fries 10/10 ( homemade taste )

Amazing experience of picking out the raw seafood, picking out the drinks and then being seated in long communal tables. Super fresh fish and oysters! The staff were really friendly and attentive. A must try in Amsterdam.

Food was absolutely incredible. I loved how you can create your own menu and eat as much variety as you can. As the atmosphere is lively, it's somewhere you can go with anyone, whether that's family & friends or on a date. The staff were extremely helpful/friendly. I appreciated how they make you feel very welcome and not rushed during choosing your fish & drinks. Will definitely go back again! Thank you for the great experience.

If you are an American, this place might not be for you. Do not even try to go without a reservation, they just won’t take you. Do not arrive early, they won’t seat you even if half the restaurant is empty. You come in the restaurant, they gave you a glass of champagne and seat you in the waiting area. They will then come to take you to the fish market so you can select the seafood you want to eat and the amount. They will then suggest all the ways they can prepare it. Once seated at your table they will start serving your food. I loved the whole concept. Service was great and the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Make reservations ahead of time and you’ll have a great experience. We loved every dish we ordered

Truly was a fish theater! I have never had a dining experience like this. It does take awhile to hear what is fresh and decide what you want to eat but the food is delicious and worth the wait. There is clearly great care taken to highlight a variety of seafood.

It was a very strange experience to be walked through a fish monger like atmosphere, to pick out what you're going to eat! Once you do, it's all prepared for you in their own way, after you tell them allergies or dislikes. There's not any ordering in any other way, it's all a wonderful surprise. All that said it was delicious, extremely well crafted, and of very high quality!

Where do I begin… I’m in awe of interactive dining experience. Truly one of a kind. First off, we are greeted by two glasses of cava while we wait for our turn. Our table number is written on a can of sardines. This is our ticket to go to the fish market and also the wine bar. They even provide fresh salted popcorn while we waited to be called. What a perfect little snack. Second, we approach the fresh seafood market and they explain to you how each dish is cooked. Also to tell you if a dish is an appetizer or an entree. You make your selection and the order is put through the system. Third, you stop at the wine pairing, the staff there know your order by now so they can help recommend bottles for your meal. Such a lovely way to order your food. We ordered several appetizers to share. Of course kicking off our meal with bread and the selection of their oysters, highly recommend the grilled oyster, it was delicious ! We shared the grilled pulpo, soft shelled crab, gamba’s, and the trio of razor clams / clams / mussels. The table next to us got the trio with pasta, I didn’t know that was an option, but will keep in mind for the next time ! Amazing ambiance, great service, and super tasty food. I’d love to come back here anytime. We had an unforgettable dinner at Pesca.

Great concept! Fresh fish and fine wine in good company, what could be better?! The system of service and consulting is built perfectly. You just need to choose the desired seafood and enjoy. Although some burnt aftertaste in octopus or deep-fried oil in fish is not for everyone.

Great food and comfortable environment. The best thing about this place is that you see everything on the menu displayed and you get to choose which you want before going to your table. There is also a sitting area outside where you can wait if it is too occupied inside and you get popcorn while waiting.

Great concept restaurant. First you choose your fish in the market , than they prepare for you. My favorite was octopus 🐙, such an explosion of the tastes in the mouth, tender & yummy. Wine list is ok, but I will add more variety like Portuguese wine. Fish restaurant must have a better wine list (longer wine list). Service is nice that is surprising for NL. Deserts are nice. And we tried 3 fishes and the best for my taste was see bas (classics fish ). Will definitely come again. Lunch for 6 ppl costs us 350 eur, not cheep.

cool experience ! On arrival at the restaurant we were given a number and headed to the bar. From there we were invited to the fish market where we could choose fish or seafood. There we learned how they are prepared. Then we went to the wine market where we could choose something to drink and from there the waiter took us to our table. From the table we could see the kitchen, the restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the smell of charcoal was in the air. The food was delicious and we will definitely return there again.

I loved the experience: instead of a regular menu, you go shopping into a fish market and they would prepare whatever you select. This is followed by a wine market. The food was good, but it didn't have the wow factor you would expect of such place.

Super cool place for dinner. You walk in and the fresh fish is displayed for you at a counter. The guide explains the process and you choose your fish then go to your table. I was having an off night stomach wise but my husband loved the food. The tuna was a highlight as well as the whole lobster.

The restaurant is amazing. Service is really great and everyone is super friendly. We ended up choosing 2 sides, 2 entrees, and 1 main dish. This was the recommended amount of food by the staff. They nailed it. Everything was cooked to perfection, all the flavours working together in superb combination. We also had 1 cheesecake and 1 glass of red wine to top it off. Overall, 100% worth it, would definitely go again.

A unique restaurant experience! Pesca Vis was something we found online and found intriguing, so we wanted to give it a try! As fish-lovers, it did not disappoint at all. The first thing to note is the friendliness of the staff! When you walk in, the attendant is ready to greet you and give an introduction to the restaurant. Because it's probably unlike anything you've ever done, it needs some explaining. The people managing the fish market are also very friendly and want to make sure your experience is very smooth. As a customer, you get to choose fish for each course. I won't spoil it too much, so I'll stop here :) In terms of quality and taste, it was absolutely amazing. Their unique and carefully catered menu did not disappoint us. Again, I won't reveal too much about their process, but it's definitely a must-eat.

As soon as you enter the door, great service 100%. Every euros spent is worth it trust me. The staffs are so lovely and genuine, they’ve given us great recommendations as you can see in the pictures. I loved it all. The starters on bread and butter, I was shook on what the secret ingredient was for it to be so good. Very delicious and enjoyable. Definitely will visit again!

One of the best experiences you can have in Amsterdam. Totally worth of visiting. A real theatre of a fish market where you can handpick your own fresh fish. Prosecco is a welcoming drink and recieving a Ben&Jerry’s gift as you leave the restaurant is just the cherry on top. The whole service is absolutely amazing.

Fantastic seafood experience! Choosing your fish market-style at the start is a delight. The wine pairings are spot-on, and the cozy atmosphere adds to the charm. The staff are super friendly, and both the seafood and its seasoning are top-notch. Highly recommend for a lovely dining experience!

Nice dining experience! We have to first go to the seafood market to order our seafood - staffs are knowledgeable and give you good recommendation, simply tell them what you fancy! Staff recommended the monk fish to us as we prefer fish that are less fishy and we love it!!!!!!!!! It is the first time I have tried such flavor in a seafood dish. After selecting the seafood, you can head off to the wine market to select some wine to go with your dishes. Such a wonderful night!

High quality fish/seafood! Great ambience and way of working! Pricy, but not out of the ordinary for the Netherlands... and more worth it than other fish restaurants I have tried.

Amazing experience. Definitely recommend the soft shell crab, but you can't go wrong with any orders... Bit of a waiting time between meals, but if you come with a group and have a few drinks, it is a perfect place to get together with friends and family and chat away.... Side salad btw was refreshing.

About the Seabass…my husband took me here because I’m from Jamaica and I LOVE grill fish. I’m a huge foodie and when it come to fish, I’m all in. When the fish first came out I said “it’s going to be ok, and it’s not going to be as my husband described”….the first bite blew my mind! As a result I left the poor fella with nothing left on his bones! Thank you Pesca for a wonderful meal and service!

Great concept and excellent taste. Expect around 50/60 euro per person for 4 seafood dishes + bottle of wine + side. Reasonable considering fresh seafood

Amazing place and fast service. You are choose your food from the fish market and then strait away lands down on your own plate. Fresh and juicy. Skin of the crab is surprising good but the Sea Bass is a queen of the evening ! I sincerely recommend with some Chardonnay and Espresso Martini as a digestive

Pesca was a wonderful treat! We were two locals and three Americans celebrating a birthday. All were impressed by the food and service. The concept worked out better than expected, with very kind, patient servers taking our order at both the fish and drinks stations. We never felt rushed, and they were careful to explain the process. The food was all very good, with some truly excellent standouts: dutch oysters, octopus, and the fresh fish (brill and monkfish). The chocolate party dessert was also delicious!

Location: open space with tables to share, a jovial but slightly chaotic environment. The open kitchen inevitably causes smell in the main room. Tables without tablecloths, which is now usual but which I don't like very much. The bathrooms are falling apart and are very dirty. Food: fresh fish that you personally choose at the counter and then it is prepared for you and brought to your table. Each fish has its own recipe. Good taste, even if they could use less sauces. The dessert I ate was good. Decent espresso coffee. Service: fast and friendly even though the place was full. Well done. Bill: terribly expensive. Conclusion: you can give a try if you like fish but be prepared, the bill is extremely high for a place that does not even uses table cloths... Spending 105 euros and eating while sharing the table with strangers on a plain wooden table in a place with very dirty bathrooms is just too much. You can find nicest places for the same price in the surroundings.

Food is amazing. Staffs very friendly. Only thing is that the seating is separated enough for a restaurant at this price.

Such a great dinner!! The place is beatuiful, the food is delicious (easily the best I have had in my years living in Amsterdam), the service is on point and the price is a great deal. Do not miss the opportunity to try out this incredible fish restaurant. I will definitely come back.

Honestly the best dinner I have had in my entire life. Great customer service, good looking restaurant and the food was just perfect, only thing that i was not happy about was scallops were a bit overcooked but still taste and overall experience was great!

Overall a fantastic experience. Loved the way we were checked in at the 'reception', loved the prosecco while waiting for to pick the fish (too bad it was not complimentary). All seafood looked 100% fresh and 'sales' ladies were very knowledgable. Kitchen did a great job preparing as well and we really enjoyed all the food. The only small downside is the long wait between the dishes. Maybe we picked complicated dishes?

  • 4/5 Ian G. 1 year ago on Google
The concept of this restaurant is different to anything I have experienced and the concept is fantastic. Unfortunately the food wasn't as great as the experience. The monkfish was the best I've ever had. The calamari was great the prawns and oysters were OK but the octopus was quite chewy. I would eat here again but i would choose different options.

  • 5/5 Elle B. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful experience. Love that you go and speak with someone at the “market” and they walk you through each seafood item and how it’s prepared and help you pick the best combination of items. Everything is sharing. The Scallops were my favorite. Would go back just based on those alone. Atmosphere is fun and service was great.

We had such a brilliant night, the concept for the restaurant is amazing and very well done, the food is really tasty and the bill came to less than we thought at the end of the night. Win win all round! Would definitely come again.

BEST DINNER EXPERIENCE IN ALL OF AMSTERDAM. Every single detail was absolutely perfect and the food #impeccable. A must try for anyone visiting this city.

  • 5/5 Miriam S. 2 years ago on Google
Super good experience. You chose the products from a “supermarket” and they help you with the choice. The product is excellent and then is served with a delicious taste. Very good service and environment. Leave room for dessert, the brownie was a perfect ending! The kind of place where you want to come back.

  • 5/5 Kristofer T. 2 years ago on Google
Such a great restaurant concept. You begin with a discussion with the waiter selecting your entré and main course from the fish and sea food that is laid out on ice on the counter in front of you. Then you move on to the sommelier to discuss and select your wine. The selection process takes some time but that's fine and part of the experience.

  • 5/5 Juno M. 2 years ago on Google
Unique experience the moment you step in. The menu is changing according to what fish is caught, which I think should be the case in any restaurant actually! It seems much more sustainable. Besides the concept, the food was incredibly tasty. I will definitely come here more regularly!

  • 5/5 Sunita S. 2 years ago on Google
Such a cool experience!!! Definitely make this place a priority for a fun dinner. They start you at the bar with a drink, then you select your seafood from the 'market', then you pick your wine/drinks in another area, all before they seat you and bring amazing dishes. It was all so unexpected and one of our favorite evenings in Amsterdam.

  • 5/5 Polydefkis G. 1 year ago on Google
Where from to start. We had a problem with our booking but the personnel handled it perfectly, bend the rules and let us continue with a cancelled booking that was not made by us. They gave us champagne in the entrance and explained to us how the place is operating. We really enjoyed it. The food was top notch both in quality and presentation. I haven’t had good fish outside of Greece for very long time but I can guarantee that you can find it in this place. 🙏

We missed the entrance at the first sight. It's above the floor🤭that's a tip for finding the location. A stunning opening with cava and the selection of fresh seafood. We can taste the freshness and enjoy the plates design. Thank you 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳🙏the sharing dining concept is highly noted among the other restaurants. I'd def recommend this non menu seafood experience!
