Nice little Italian restaurant with a romantic, quiet atmosphere inside. Ideal for a dinner date or with a friend. I really like the pasta alle vongole (they serve it with tomatoes) and the tiramisu. Really tasty. The service was also good and friendly. But the wine selection wasn’t so good - we tried a couple of wine before settling for an okay option. Not great when you see the price range of their bottles.. And lastly the chocolate cake was a bit too dry for our liking, it could have used an ice-cream or some coulis with it.

Definitely one of the most authentic Italian places I have eaten in Amsterdam. The service was honestly great and the food was really amazing. It really felt like a home cooked meal. The prices are a bit on the high side, but these are definitely worth it. I am definitely coming back here again and would really recommend it to anyone who is in doubt!

In my humble opinion the best italian restaurant at this moment in Amsterdam when it comes to pasta. A cozy restaurant, a hidden gem in the east. Very friendly and nice people. The food is just amazing. The starters are an invite to a culinary journey. The main course is a surprise. The ravioli is just outstanding. While finishing with a very good dessert. Love to come back.

Really best Italian I have found in amsterdam went out for Daddy / Daughter date and couldn’t be happier with food or service begin from USA some times its a bit harder to find something so authentic my daughter 5 is fussy as can be and finished two plates definitely will be back …

We had an amazing dinner at Il Borgo in May. The place is small and intimate, very cozy. We ordered an anti pasti, pasta, and tuna steak and the courses were very well timed and delicious. Our absolute favourite was the homemade tagliatelle with chestnut flour, sausage, truffles, and parmesan. The host is lovely and was very patient with us choosing our wine. A great authentic Italian!

An Italian family, who’s Mom was from Italy, looking for an authentic Italian restaurant - this is your place to go! The pasta was full of flavour and egg plant parmesean was cooked to perfection. Would definitely return again!

The dinner meal was lovely. The food was fresh. The grilled octopus starter in particular was tender and delicious. Would certainly return again and enjoy another delicious meal out.

Really nice small Italian restaurant with freshly made food. Very authentic menu with classic, specialised dishes.

Nice venue. I went with my two kids and myself. Food is very good and authentic but service tonight was painfully slow. There were only about 4 to 5 tables other than us. We only ordered one antipasti, and one secondi and 2 pasta dishes as main course. The mains took 1.5 hours to appear. By this time, it was very dark outside where we were sitting and getting a little chilly. We asked to sit inside but it seemed they were not happy for us move so we stayed outside. We finished the food in less than 10 min but couldn't really see what we were eating. We had to leave quickly as getting very late by then. If the food was not as good as it was then only 1 star. I know good food takes time, but not this long. I cook a lot myself and eat very often so this is unusual. They could have let us know that food was going to take that long. How long would we have had to wait if they were busy?

Very cozy Italy feel atmosphere and fresh high quality food. Porcini mushrooms were out of this world delicious. We never tasted better in best restaurants in Italy. Fresh truffles shaved in abundance on many dishes. Amazing wine and super friendly people. It is a truly a hidden gem in Amsterdam. Not easy to find this level restaurant!

Food ok, service terrible. We went there for a dinner on a quiet night. When we arrived only 2 tables had guests. Menu offers almost no vegetarian choices. It is mainly fish and meat. Even though we were only the third customer table it took over half an hour for food to be served. I ordered another wine when food was brought out - it was never served. Server (owner?) never came by our table to ask if we needed anything or even as much as looked at us while serving other tables. Main course was tasty but asparagus was cold (below room temperature), on both plates. One of the deserts tasted like cheap supermarket taart. Espresso was the best part of the dinner. Very expensive place considering the level of service. Sadly, we will not be coming back.
