Wester-Amstel

Park Historical landmark Country house

👍👍 Visited during the open monument day. This house can be visited all year around every day. Really enjoyed the tour guided by the family member of this summer house.

Very beautiful gardens and house. Just outside Amsterdam, along the river Amstel. Well worth a visit away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam.

If you are looking for a place to escape to that is just a short cycle away from the city, this is the place! You cycle along the Amstel River to get here (highly recommend this cycle). Once you get to Wester-Amstel get ready to relax, enjoy nature, and maybe even check out the art exhibit. Plus it has a lovely audio tour that tells you interesting stories about Wester-Amstel! I would highly recommend this place to nature lovers or anyone who needs to relax.

The gardens were lovely. Note that it appears you can't tour inside the buildings, only the grounds.

It’s a beautiful place, and everywhere it’s written ‘welcome’ when you arrive. Although, when you arrive, they are very rude and send us away whilst we made an effort just to see the historical place. I wouldn’t spend time to visit to avoid a stressful situation.

I passed by it on a bike with only a second glance. I did some research on this for a while came back with a audio guide recorded none other than the previous owner. Highlights are the following : 1. The House itself, is one of the oldest and royal house in Amstel. 2. Garden has flowers that you might not find commonly in the whole of Netherlands. 3. The trees sculpted and grown to make an arch in typical Dutch gardening style. 4. The pond with the floating lady 5. The tea house on it's "raised" platform 6. The chicken palace

Beautiful building. We never went in watching the art but walked around in the lovely garden enjoying life. Perfect place for a stop when out biking by the Amstel river.

Beautiful grounds for walking or relaxing. There were artists painting and drawing in various areas which I found very cool. Lovely flower garden and some really interesting art installations.
