We had 3 course dinner recently with Groupon reservation here but it was a horrible experience. First let me tell you that the reviews mostly here are not genuine in nature as they are not aware of genuine authentic Indian food. If you are serious about Indian authentic food, then better avoid it. The starters were okie but the main course was out of the world. Means it is not eatable at all. God only know how we ate it. Forget about the desert. It was like I will die die for it. They didn’t even asked us what we want for main course. weird right 😐.. overall the experience was not desired one. If you cannot cook good food, then there is no pint of selling it in Groupon and ruin other evening and dinner. P.S. (post reply) Wow! That was a quite a outburst and full blown essay.. thanks for putting so much effort in looking my history. Also I think your clarification on Groupon will help lot of people and save them from ruining their evening. After this, I hope people will be more careful in buying your voucher. Thanks.

Great food, tasty with great service. I had the paneer tikka masala, bhindi masala, and my friend had the butter chicken, mango lassi and a glass of wine.

1 star only coz i cant give 0 So we had this Groupon deal, we got Samosa and onion bhaji as starters which were very ok. For main course, we had palak paneer and mix veg which was of so inferior quality that 6 of us didn't complete 1 bowl, and rest was just wasted and sent back. For dessert we had gulab jamun, which took 15 minutes and after that the Gulab Jamun were cold as icecream, we couldn't even break it with our spoon and knife. Overall pathetic food experience and irony was we took the tasting menu! 🤮

Absolutely sensational! A very stylish modern restaurant. The entire staff is very friendly and perfectly organized. The timing was perfectly coordinated. The food tasted great and was prepared with a lot of love. The portions were very large and very good value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

It was nice for a casual weekday dinner. Just before lockdown. Solid indian cuisine with classics like butter chicken and tandoori chicken tikka etc. Service was attentive and nice. No complaints.

This is a nice and warm atmosphere restaurant with very polite and professional staff. I have been here four times now. They make good Indian food that is suitable for the western audience and also indians. The food retains its authentic ingredients and recipes. For example they do not substitute things for another as it is easier to find locally. It is a purely Punjabi restaurant. The naan bread is very good. They put black seed in the naan which gives it a unique flavor. The tandoori items were well Marinated blend of spices were nice but some of it missed the smokey touch and a bit more spices would have been nice to make it closer to the Indian feel. I have tried the lamb chops and I highly recommend it. It was the best tandoori dish. The karahi chicken reminded me of a lahori style karahi with onion and tomato base and garnish with ginger. The chicken karahi goes well with naan. The portions will make you full with one dish. And with every curry they give rice and vegetables. The quality of ingredients is very good. The cleanliness and hygiene standard is excellent. The owners are kind and humble people and always serve their guests with a smile. The meat is halal. The menu is not large but very well balanced with mutton , chicken, sea and vegetables. They also offer Indian beer for those who are interested.

Firstly the lighting, furniture & decor was perfect a positive inviting environment score 10/10 Staff was welcoming from the time we entered till they said farewell staff service score 10/10 Now to rate the food I came to Nawaab today for dinner with a friend from work who was trying Indian food for the first time his experience in his own words he really enjoyed the food. We had a three course meal starter was samosa & pakora fresh n hot taste was good, main dishes spicy Keema for myself & mild Keema for my friend all the favours were spot on, mixed vegetables with Paneer this was a surprise, vegetables were fresh and paneer made this dish really tasty (chef did a great job), Rice was fresh made to perfection, Garlic cheese nan was delicious. Now coming to the desert to be honest both of us are not fans of sweet stuff would have been nice if we could have replaced it with coffee. I am planning to come again maybe with another colleague who has never tried desi food before If you would like to introduce Indian/desi curries to friends who have never tried it before I really recommend this place I took a few photos for this review Just to make it clear I came here with a Groupon offer and its definitely worth it.

We ordered a Mutton biryani which was just a simple meat curry rice made in pressure cooker (the rice sticky) no smell,no aroma , not even a single spices or onion garlic I found. Very very bad. Achari chicken & sikh kabab was good.

The place was recommended by one of my friends. Stood up to the expectations! Super delicious food and a great hospitality🫡 Starters were tasty, chicken tandoori, onion pakoras and samosas, and the main course were absolutely delicious such as lamb chops, murg awadhi, chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Great place for Indian cuisine with family & friends… Highly recommendable!

Service was unbelieably amazing. Food was very good and this confirmed by an india colleague. Despite not loving indian cuisine I enjoyed a lot my dish (mild not spicy) and the naan was great. Well located and pleasant space

Great ambience, prompt service, very clean restaurant. We ordered Dal Tadka with Naan which was delicious. I can't say the same about Biryani. Let's just say it was average. Tea tasted really good. Overall good experience.

To start with we went with 10 friends at nawab , and all of us had groupon coupon , For drinks most of us took mango lassi which was quite okayish but still it was consumable , for the starters we had onion bhajiya and samosa in which onion bhajiya had no onions and only besan and samosa was too oily , then for the main course they gave us saag paneer , mix veg , and dal tadka in which dal tadka was chana dal and mix veg had uncooked veggies and saag paneer was very okayish , we ordered butter naan which was typical Turkish bread with butter and for dessert it took 15 mins and they served dead cold rasgulla with whipping cream , And for starters and main course they didn’t even change our plates we ate in one single mini plate I don’t know this was because of groupon coupon service or what , but had one of the horrible experience Indian food in Amsterdam , not recommended!

Normally I don’t write reviews, but this restaurant was so special I had to write an good review. First of all the staff was really nice and friendly. The food was so delicious especially the Butter chicken was really tasty. The restaurant looked very clean, and food came very fast. If you like Indian food or you haven’t tried it but want to, I think Nawaab is the perfect place.

Best North Indian food in the neighbourhood. Family-run restaurant with the boys in front-of-house and mom running the kitchen. It is an institution we all love. Her authentic recipes as delectable, delicious and darn-right amazing. Try the Chicken Tika Masala (original recipe) and be blown away. It is our go-to meal on a Friday. Bene here when they were rushed off their feet during the congress season and in the middle of winter when it is much quieter. Never a harsh word, always polite and friendly and fantastic service. I recently took 10 of my inlaw cousins and nieces here, and when they had an off-the-menu request, which I told them to drop, the restaurant staff quietly went behind the scenes and made it happen anyway. What a wonderful surprise!!

We had a great experience at Nawaab, they have by far the best tasting Indian food in Amsterdam. The service was excellent as well, and the staff was very hospitable.

Respect! If you don't respect your own words, how others can respect you, your business, and your services. We reserved a table after talking to its manager to use our Groupon in there because their online system didn't work. After our on time arrival, the same manager denied offering the reserved table and asked for full cash payment because it would be hassle free for him, he argued. It was a shame that he didn't respect his own words even after we showed the history of our call. The most shocking part was his indifference and the lack of willingness to resolve the problem. He just didn't care and we left there. Unbelievable! P.S.: you can find below the manager's response to my original review above. I think the answer is self-explanatory. An ungrounded justification for a non-professional behavior to a customer. To be sure, the guy on phone introduced himself as the manager, and we conditioned our booking to the acceptance of our Groupon, and he agreed. The manager denied such a conversation, so we forced to show our call history, and finally despite what is mentioned below it was Groupon which refund our payment after our direct contact with them! As a former businessman and current business professor, I have strict ethical rules and refuse any offer from someone who doesn't respect his (or colleagues') words, so there were no point to stay in such a place for a dinner with family.

Had a great experience. Professional service quality, a very intelligent improvisation of traditional recipes. Since I eat spicy, I found it perfect to my taste. Naans are freshly served and are very delicious. Chicken Achaari and Tandoori Chicken stole the show for us. Overall a great dining experience. P.S. Prices are high but the quality is worth it.
