I'd read about this shop online, but didn't know how to find it. Imagine my delight when we walked right by it as we walked through Weligama. The lovely owner and her husband make custom clothing, but we were only in town for one night. I found a dress, a top, and a caftan that fit, and bought 2M of fabric which she was able to craft into a lovely pair of pants for me that very afternoon! Such a sweet woman, and lovely batik prints for hanging or wearing. WONDERFUL items to bring home from Sri Lanka.

Madame Lalani is a very sweet and talented lady! She made a lot of clothing for us in Weligama - from shirts to pants and dresses.

These kind and lovely people turned our old clothes into something special. You can not only buy their own designs but also bring our own clothes to tie dye or let them alter or make you something after your own wishes. They also offer work shops in how to make you own tie dye! The lady is very proud of her work and will show you proudly her newest projects ☺️ And the funds are going towards their children's education So if you have the chance, it's worth to drop by and check out the place. They're set up just down the street with the fuel station on the corner. 23/1 sea road Weligama. As you go from midigama to weligama it is the first fuel station you see on the left hand side opposite the fish markets Both garments shown in the photo belonged to us and where both plain white, we paid just under $4 US for them to be transformed into what you see in this image

My friend and I loved this place and specially Lalanee. We ended up doing a batik class here and also bought a few different items. Her stuff is absolutely beautiful, it’s hand stitched and colored. During our batik class we got to see how much work goes into her pieces and it’s truly astounding. We love our Sri Lankan mama Lalanee and will definitely be back :)

I bought several items and had a top and shorts made to fit my body type. Very reasonable prices and beautiful colourful clothes. I will come back. The owners are also incredibly nice!

I asked to make me a dress, chose the model, the color, the owner measured my sizes and I got the great result just in 2 days! Very nice, good quality and 100%cotton!

Great place for unique and customized tie dye dresses, bags, tops, pants and sarongs. I very much enjoyed the tie dye workshop where Lalani taught me to make my own custom made piece. It was a great activity. Lalani has a warm and friendly personality and makes sure you go home with a perfectly fitted piece of clothing. A hidden gem in Weligama and highly recommended!

Such a nice family. They colour their own fabrics and tailor make to fit. Truely one of a kind designs. Very good clothing alterations and excellent reproduction clothing. I took in a very expensive pair of pants and she made me 5 more pairs at a fraction of the cost.

Great handmade pieces for a very reasonable price. The family makes all the pieces themselves and also dyes the bartik fabrics themselves. She also offers plain linen fabrics and can make anything from skirts, trousers, dresses or blouses, just let her know what you want. I can only recommend passing by for a visit, such a lovely family!
