I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is perfect, rooms are spacious and clean. The bar staff are amazing, serving delicious and affordable food. Highly recommend!

Restaurant is a tourists’ trap. They say it is curry buffet but at the end they charge for every item! Cheaper to go to a nice restaurant. Furthermore, food is very average. Staff is rude so overall experience was terrible! Not recommended!

Delicious local food with good prices

I haven't roam the place much, I think Golden Bay Resort is a hostel with restaurant. I went there to have lunch. I don't tell much of foods, because its generally eating foods. Rice and curry all that stuff. To me as sri Lankan person, foods fine to me.

Such a nice place to have breakfast, they have the best smoothiebowls and incredible avocado and egg toasts. 10/10!

Really nice room! Food is also really good, try the avocado toast, the burger or the rotisss! For the staff, its the nicest you can find in weligama! :) 100% recommend it !

The place may not look fancy but it is one of the best places to have a traditional meal or any kind of food + juice for a reasonable price. I visited two times during my stay in weligama. Staff is very friendly. Vegan/vegetarian friendly. They even made some food only for me due to my vegetarian dietary. They had the most amazing lotus root salad that I have ever tasted in my entire life. Prices are very reasonable and loved eating in Nelum kole. Highly recommending this place. Thank you.

Location, food and staff are amazing, especially Youkan from the bar, he is a very kind and helpful Person! Make sure you get a room with A/C and that the WiFi is working properly in your room - then its absolutely nice for the price. Enjoy your Holiday :)

I highly recommend this place! Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfasts. By the way, we decided with my friends that the Golden Bay Resort restaurant is one of the best in Weligama. Also, all surfing schools are located nearby. Well, here there is everything that you need for a perfect surfing trip! 😊🏄🏻‍♀️

Great service and affordable. Good location

This review is based about the food in the restaurant and it is heavenly. We had lunch here twice. They serve excellent authentic food of the Sri Lankan down south. All of us agreed curries were delicious and authenting. The freshly caught fried fished tasted amazing. Service was excellent. The manager or the property who was a very friendly person was very attentive. Dining area was spacious. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and the service.

Very good place to stay near the beach. The staff is also very much friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place for friends, families or couples.

Our room was full of ants. Our luggages as well. The shower was floating and the water was freezing. There was bad smell all around. And he didn’t want to refund us. Very bad hotel!

Honestly I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews. Keep in mind Sri Lanka has been hit hard by recession since the pandemic began so it's hard for places to keep everything perfect. But compared to another nearby place I stayed(I switched from there to this place), this place is great value. My room was clean, has AC, balcony, and bug net, across the street from the beach- all for about 10USD a night! A dorm bed costs that much here. For the price, you really can't complain.
