Ugliest beach we saw in Sri Lanka. I guess it depends on what you want to to - if you want to learn surfing it might be a good beach but if you just want to hangout at a nice beach it’s definitely not the right place. The beach is very wide and there are many surfschools and fisherboats there. If you want nice beaches you better go to tangalle and check out the beaches around there.

Best beach to begin your surfing 🏄 dream. The waves are super smooth and you can walk nearly 300 - 500 meters. Anytime the beach waves are calm. You can find plenty of surfing schools around and can hire on the same. Some they give the board only, in some you have to rent an instructor. Would suggest going through a known person, since the charges differ from person to person. My personal instructor is “Bappa - +94777649613”. A very humble person. Normally I pay 2000 per session (nearly 1-1.30 hr session). Highly recommended place to have your beginner-level Surfing experience.

This beach can use beginnier surf to professional surfers. bcoz 🌊 waves sizes are very different with this place,and huge area, no reaf, sand beach, no sharks , easy to access , friendly local people's, full day anyone can surf bcoz , restaurants and snack shop available. Taxi (Tuk tuk) available, and also surf board rent a shops available .I recommend this place is great and enjoying place for surf .

One of the best beaches in Srilanka. If you are begginer in surfing then this is beach u must visit this place. You will see lot of people trying to learn surfing. The sea water is so clean that I feel in love with the beach. Once u stand near the sea shore you don't feel like leaving that place because every tide that comes near you will make you smile. Famous place for surfing 🏄 . Some areas of the beach is full of fishing boats. Waves are very high sometimes. I dont recommend to swim here If you are do not know how to swim. But If you can go near the taprobane island that would be more safer. Can get surf lessons on the beach and there is not much crowded thesedays. Only few tourists 👌🏄

Best beach in my opinion down south specially if you're a beginner looking to surf or even just to relax on the beach, watch out for the friendly neighborhood crocodile though

For anyone who wants to learn surfing this beach is perfect. No rocks and a wide choice of surf schools.

Good place for surfing. I hired a tutor and paid 2500 for an hour. My second surfing experience after the first in Bali. Loved it. No place for a shower though, i insisted and the guy took me to a nearby resturant/hotel.
