Awesome experience! The rooms are pretty nice for the price, the breakfast was amazing, but the most important is that the hosts are so friendly and empathetic that we felt instantly conected with them. That made our stay unique and one of the best ones in our three month stay in Sri Lanka. Thank you!!

A fantastic home stay, professionally run but homely at the same time. The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable - we slept very well. We had a delicious traditional meal while we stayed and also visited a typical Sri Lankan gem mine which was fantastic to see. We will come back!

Lovely homestay in a warm family ! We felt us so welcome.. even the little puppy was excited to see us :) Nice vintage room.. (you think you're in grandma's room) with clean fresh sheets. I had the best sleep all over our holiday !! Quiet place in the middle of nature on 700 m from the village Ratnapura. Lovely Sri Lankan breakfast more than you can eat :) Good talk with the son and the father en mam's is a very good cook! They do everything for you what you desire.Paps take us to a store of gems just to enjoy how they make the gems wearable without pushing us to buy something and the nice buddha statue . Big Big thanks Shehan and family (and of course Alfie ) for the lovely stay and the fine company :) See you by our next visit of Sri Lanka !

Everything was just perfect! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was so delicious. Next time we would like to stay longer here as there is more to discover than just gemstones.

The room (and bathroom) was very nice. The hosts are very friendly and helpfull. We loved the delicious food and the care from the whole family. Also we got help and assistance by visiting the mining area and after that visiting the further handling with the gems. Now we are back home and still enjoying the self-made tea we got from the family.

Without any doubts the best place to stay in ratnapura. There we had the most delicious food on our journey so far and a host family that immediately takes you to their heart.

I really enjoyed my (very short) stay at Summer Ridge Homestay. The beautiful and spacious room, the quiet surrounding and the help of Shehan with organizing my trip. He would look for inexpensive TukTuk to bring me to Udawalawe early the next day and even took care, that I was really awake at four in the morning. Just for information for all who are interested in visiting a mine: They will only work in the morning.

Beautiful homey guesthouse. Very sweet family who owns it and they listen to reviews. Apparently someone wasn't comfortable with the matresses and pillows; they changed the pillows had a new matress waiting that day. And yes, these were very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Combined with the lovely breakfast and quite location made this a quality stay.

If you are interested in gems industry you should definitely stay with these great hosts! + During our 3 week travel in Sri Lanka hosts here were the most friendly people we met! Shehan and his father organised a super interesting visit in a gem mine and gem polishing workshop for us. In both of those places we met very genuine people. Shehan’s mum prepared the best ginger tea for us and we had an engaging conversation about life in Sri Lanka. The location of the place itself is great too - on top of a hill, surrounded by greenery and 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The room was spotless clean and we got the whitest and cleanest towels so far :-) Thank you so much for your hospitality! Everything was perfect!
