My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The location was incredible! We went to the comedy store twice in our stay because it was right across the street. They only have valet parking which is exactly what you want because parking in that area would be absolutely crazy. Just make sure you plan ahead if events are happening cause it will take time for them to get your car up but I will say that they let us know well ahead of time and were super helpful with that. We had asked on check in if we could get a room that didn’t face a pool because we had read that it could get noisy with events. They were super accommodating and even upgraded us for free which was so kind of them. Our room was so quiet at night and we had a great view of LA. We did notice that the fridge in our room wasn’t cold but that’s because we learned it’s for display purposes. However, when we spoke to the concierge they arranged for a fridge to be brought in and were really helpful! The cleaning staff are super kind and our room was always cleaned with fresh towels each day. The lobby can get a bit busy with the events that happen, but it’s nothing crazy and it didn’t effect us in any way. We didn’t try out the pool but it looked nice and the area looked clean. Definitely a great place that we’d come back to and a name we’d love to try in different cities.

Love the Mondrian Hotel. Its a very cool & chic hotel on Sunset Strip. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the Balcony Suites overlooking the pool - so fun to sit outside and take in the scene. Suites are modern and fun, beds are very comfortable. The pool has great music and the food and drinks are very good. Love this hotel for my girl trips, you basically never have to leave the hotel: Pool, Bar, Restaurant, Club all in the hotel - and always feel safe even as a women alone at night. Thank you Mondrian Hotel - we will be back soon.

I would have rated this hotel 0 stars but the room was actually nice! Where this hotel totally fails is with its Pool and Customer Service. The Pool: Don’t book this hotel if a relaxing pool is what are are seeking. What the hotel fails to disclose is that the pool is actually a day club with lines of people waiting to get in. Good luck trying to get a chair, or a drink for that matter. Google Mondrian events if you would like an idea of how many parties this place hosts. I wish I would have known. Customer Service: When I brought my concern of being able to use the pool the staff basically ignored me. The Manager on duty was like “This is West Hollywood, what do you expect?” But the best part is that he offered to use the pool at the neighboring Andaz. I’d recommend this place if you’re in the mood for a raging party, but definitely book the neighboring hotels if you want something more relaxing.

So disappointed in our stay at the Mondrian this time . Although the staff were lovely the hotel has lost its cool LA vibe. We didn’t realize the pool area has now become an over 21 area after 1 pm Friday , Saturday and Sunday turning the whole outside area into a sleazy pick up joint for ages 21 to 30 which is great if that is want you’re looking for . But we had our 18 year old daughter with us and it would have been good to know this. Also the lovely restaurant and hang out area was completely closed so really felt ripped off paying for these amenities we could not use . We will definitely not be going back .

BEWARE OF THEFT. I wanted to like this hotel. The suite we had was very comfortable and the service was fast and reliable. However, a special gold ring of mine was stolen by housekeeping, and while I understand these incidents do happen especially in LA these days, it’s how the hotel responded to it that upset me deeply. My ring went missing during the time housekeeping was in our room. The hotel management ran a thorough investigation on who went in and out and interviewed all the housekeeping staff. What upset me was the hotel’s response - they wrote me a long email stating that unfortunately none of their staff took the ring and that I should look harder in the room before I check out. This implied that it was my fault, that somehow I misplaced or lost the ring, which I know wasn’t the case since I left the ring in the room right before heading out that morning. Instead of simply concluding that none of their staff admitted to it, they seemed to suggest that the ring was lost due to my carelessness, which was extremely upsetting after I had just lost a $3k ring. Lastly, they didn’t offer any sort of compensation for my loss.

I had a very bad experience in this hotel checking in and extending my stay. A front of desk staff member called Sal was incredibly rude to me, after lying to me about the rate on the room and then threatened to cancel my booking after I pointed out his a mistake. The girls that work at the front desk are nice (Bonnie and the the other one). The rooms are nice but the hotel is incredibly loud, there is a nightclub that plays music loud until late in the morning. For the price / if this is your budget you can stay somewhere nicer with more pleasant staff and hotel amenities.

Yikes! The pool is absolutely not a part of the hotel. It is usually booked out for private events even if there is no indication anywhere that an event will take place that day. They will kick hotel guests out of the seats in order to fill them with people who want to pay for bottle service. I would not recommend this hotel unless your reason for staying here is to attend these parties at the pool.

Another icon has lost its greatness and uniqueness. If you believe the pictures on the website and the descriptions you will be disappointed. The pool has shrunk to a small area and a large wooden wall blocks the view of LA from the lobby and pool. The pool is dirty and the wooden deck is pitch black as it is used more as a dance floor for the Skyvbar than for pool activities. Loose boards & strips. Projecting nails, sloppy painting ..... a hotel without maintenance. The reason is obvious the areas are leased to third parties to maximize profits to the disadvantage of the guests. There is no adequate breakfast, no lunch and dinner is not possible as a guest as the restaurant does not belong to the hotel. Nobody can help you except yourself by eating in another restaurant outside. In principle, the Mondrian is nothing more than an aging Bed ONLY Hotel. The new hotels in the area are certainly a better choice. Keep the eyes wide open when choosing a hotel .... Instagram and websites do not correspond to reality.

The absolute worst experience in the history of hotel stays. This hotel is no better then the cheapest hotel you can find. The room looked how it did in the pictures except the TV didn’t work. They never put trash bags in any of the trash cans. The bed frame is 100 percent susceptible to bed bugs and lice among other things because it looked like it had never been cleaned….. ever. Don’t get me wrong there was good experiences at Mondrian but the bad definitely outweighed the good. We did get the room with a view we asked for which was beautiful, but really the only nice part about staying here. Upon arrival, valet is 65 PER NIGHT. And they were RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND TREATED US LIKE THEY WERE INCONVENIENCED TO DO THEIR JOB EVEN THOUGH IM PAYING THEM JUST TO PARK MY CAR. The bellmen at Mondrian had the exact same attitude, rude and gave us dirty looks every time we came down. We tried informing the front desk but they were not concerned at all about our feedback and I did not feel heard or that my complaints were taken seriously. We stayed an entire week and we’re never offered any amenities. No breakfast NOTHING. But of course with YT privilege you can get anything you want out of this hotel. People stayed 3 nights and got breakfast vouchers for every day they stayed and they weren’t disrespected every single day. On our last night in LA we we’re trying to go about our day and end our week vacation on a good note… but valet LOST OUR KEYS. AND RUINED OUR LAST 2 entire days. They had to remake the entire key and wasted our whole day and they still wanted to charge me 65$ per night for valet. They completely wasted our time and you wouldn’t believe how care free Mondrian was. Valet is their third party losing their hotel guest vehicles and so it’s not their problem. I complained to Mike and Sal the hotel managers but their communication is so off that one person said one thing and the other said something else. Mike told me to make up for the inconvenience I could help myself to the mini bar and snack bar in the room. AND THEY STILL CHARGED ME FOR IT. I called and told them that I discussed my situation all day when they lost my keys and the next day before checking out not to charge me anymore because they completely dropped the ball and Sal just acted like there was nothing he could do about even though he’s a “manager”. They continued to keep charging me for the amenities I used after they offered them to me. They continued to charge for parking after they LOST MY KEYS. They continued to charge me 35 dollars and another 11 dollars per-night for no reason. This hotel is nothing but money hungry careless and irresponsible people. Both valet and hotel personnel. Absolutely disgusted with my stay. Never again.

I didn't know I was booking a loud and abnoxious, dirty pool party hotel with nowhere to sit or lounge around. You can't swim in this pool as all the drunk people are just sitting around with only their feet in. There must have been about 50 people in that tiny pool. Overly crowded. Smelled of cigarettes and Marijuana. Just not a pleasant, relaxing hotel at all. I would suggest checking out other local hotels near by. We've stayed at others near by hotels and they are much quieter and can enjoy a relax, clean pool. FYI, Valet is $60 per day. Guest Parking is also $60. Hourly parking is $20. These are the only options. Good luck!

I booked my room for five days via an app. I won’t mention the app, but it was the best deal I could find through a Google search. I stayed at the hotel for five days. When I checked out, on the bill there were additional fees of $30 a day. I asked the reception person why are you charging me an extra $30 a day? The reply I got was, “if you book through a third party, we have additional fees”. I told her that it doesn’t make sense because that’s not written anywhere… Which it wasn’t. Her reply was too bad, next time book directly. So basically what they did was reimburse themselves for the discount I received for the room from the third party company. So the room actually came out to be a little more by using the app. This is and bad business! it cost me $150 learn this lesson. I will not stay this hotel again. Stay in a lot of hotels year-round. And I will recommend anybody. I can’t tonight because they have fees. It will charge you without letting you know in advance. And they are heartless about charging that money.

Beds were dirty when we checked in. Towels were dirty. The bathroom door didn’t slide closed. Toilets took multiple flushes every time, due to this and the door not closing we had to use the washrooms in the lobby and at the hotel across the street. Housekeeping would come either at 8:20 am or 6pm after asked that they come during the 8 hours we were gone during the day. I’ve stayed at the Mondrian before and enjoyed my visit. This was not an enjoyable visit. I will not book there again and advise others to book elsewhere.

Fabulous hotel in a fantastic location. Huge rooms, great views, and a superb rooftop and pool. Pool scene not as happening as last time we visited a few years ago, for some reason… Maybe because the restaurant is under renovation atm.

I absolutely love the Mondrian in LA. So modern, fun, great location. My favorite part is the rooftop pool and the new beautiful restaurant Casa Madera! Sooo beautiful and great food. The staff is so friendly throughout the hotel, and the views are beautiful! Fabulous for dinner or a special event/occasion. Loved my stay overall. Will be back soon!

Absolutely awful service. Restaurant closed with no mention on website or Booking.com. Booked 2 suites for 3 nights and neither room was ever serviced despite constant requests. I have been staying here for 15 years and it was one of our favourite hotels. It is now ruined. We will never return which I find very sad as we have so many memories at the Mondrian. Prior to the Pandemic we would stay around six times every year for 3-5 days each time.

The rooms themselves are wonderful. Very spacious and nice and updated. The bed is extremely comfortable. The only downfalls are that there was a dead cockroach in my room, and if you want peace and quiet this is NOT the place to go. There are parties in the pool every night and day.. Music pounding until 2-3am and you can hear it all from your room. They should really let people know about this..

The rooms are pretty at first. No real furniture shelves behind doors. Not enough hangers. The coffee pot is rediculous with 2 pods that each fill a half cup. Shower is terrible. Housekeeping is a joke. I specifically asked for housekeeping because I spilled a cup of coffee on the bed. They changed the bedding. Took the two bathrobes we used without replacing them, left the garbage on the table. The body moisturizer was used. Conditioner in shower empty. All this for $300.00 per night. Not even a bottle of water to drink unless I want to buy from mini bar. We planned to stay for 7 nights but we are checking out in the morning.

I am staying at the hotel for 6 days now. And every day house keeping knocking at my door at 7-9 am. I left messages for the front desk to clean my room at 1 pm every day. My assistant called every morning to the front desk to ask them not to come before 1 pm. Every day they said ok and sorry. And that they mentioned that in their guests forms for house keepers. But every day they continued knocking for 10 min at my door at 7-9 am. I asked for don’t disturb sign. They told that they used it. But hotel didn’t solve that problem. And also today they came at 9 am. I am really disappointed.

I had a great experience at the Mondrian. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My flight was delayed and I had to come day 2 of my reservation and they let me check in at 10am when I arrived. The room had a great view and was very clean. They allow baggage storage on check out day. I’m excited to come back again!

We had a fabulous room but no hot water in our suite. We were too exhausted to complain but I finally did and was promptly moved to another room and will hopefully be compensated on the bill in some way. The customer service is the reason I still gave 5 stars

Rooms are nice, but we’re into day 3 of having no hot water. They made us aware of their plumbing issues, and have said the hot water will return by 5pm, but this hasn’t happened the last 2 nights. I checked through the evenings up to 9pm, leaving the shower run for a few minutes each time to make sure, but no hot water.

No breakfast restaurant as at April 2024. Only room service. Stay here a lot when I visit LA. If you don’t mind loud house music from the morning onward pool side and a packed lobby at weekends with party goers in the Sky Bar this is the place. Nice staff and decent room service but not the most relaxing place to stay

Just finished staying here for two nights. Felt welcome the moment I walked in, everyone from front desk to valets unbelievably friendly! For absolutely no reason the front desk upgraded my girlfriend and I to a slightly nicer room for no extra charge. Room was utterly pristine when we got there and the next day after cleaning… Pristine again. Location literally across the street from the comedy store as well. Would absolutely stay here again!!!!

We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is nicely decorated and in a good location. But keep in mind that the entire operation of the hotel is subordinated to the night club by the pool. At night, the hotel lobby is more crowded than the station. At night, almost none of the hotel's facilities can be used because everything is full of night club guests, even staying in the lobby is very unpleasant because of the noise and crowd. The guy at the entrance to the pool is very rude. At 11 a.m. he rudely asked us for ID cards to access the pool. Of course, access to the pool is included in the resort fee. Upon his colleague's objection, she drew his attention to the fact that ID cards for the swimming pool are required only after 6 p.m. because then only people 21+ have access. Although I don't understand why either, we still paid the resort fee which includes access to the pool. What if we have children, what about them after 6 p.m.? Housekeeping took away the dirtier towels with no clean towels left. The front desk assures me that towels are definitely left, are we crazy to think that there are no towels in the room?

Great experience all around! The GM Carl was excellent as well as the entire staff. The suite we stayed in was amazing with a million dollar view. Walking distance to many great places. we will definitely be returning soon.

The hotel is great, but if sleep is of any importance to you do not stay here on a weekend. The “spring break” style pool parties here are totally loud and obnoxious. Not to mention that they also make it impossible to enjoy the pool area. The room was shaking from the bass lol. Surely the private parties make money for the hotel, but if you’re a guest that’s actually paying to stay there…it’s sucks for you.

I’ve stayed at a couple hotels in West Hollywood - this and the 1 are tied at the top for me so far! Incredibly spacious rooms, attentive staff, and wonderful amenities. I used my Amex Platinum credit / benefit here and it made it that much better!

Hip hotel in Weho with a clubby bar area. Very cool, obviously intentional design in the suites - they asked if we wanted to upgrade on the night, and it wasn't too crazy, so we did and it was worth it. Balconies have a GREAT view, like really nice. The pool area is also very chill. There for partying on Halloween, it was nice to be able to just head back to the room. Vibe was a bit... Weho on Halloween, kinda "oh look how cool/important I am", but not aggressively so. Sorta fun to laugh at the ones taking themselves too seriously, but there were fun people just there to have a good time, too. Note: Cash bar only (at least on Halloween), but there IS an ATM.

Loved our stay. Hotel room and facilities were clean with excellent room service. The pool area was especially nice for recreation and lounging. The staff was super- polite and competent. We had maintenance issues with our room that were handled immediately. 10/10 would recommend!

Great hotel!! Wonderful restaurant, bar, and great view of downtown LA while poolside. It's one of my go-to hotels when I'm in LA. Can't wait to come back!

  • 1/5 Garett M. 2 years ago on Google
Do not get fooled by the high ratings, this hotel is nothing but old dilapidated and dirty rooms crawling with drunk tourists. The thumping bass music from the outdoor bar area goes on till 2am and you will hear it from every room in the hotel. It will keep you awake. Some staff is helpful, most are not. No one answers the front desk phone. Stay away from this nightmare.

A little hard to find to pull into the entrance so really be on the lookout if you have rented a car. It's easy to miss. When you walk into the hotel entrance you will be greeted with a beautiful aroma scent. Upon arrival it did not take long to check in, but we checked in on a Sunday at 1:00 pm. so there was no wait! The lobby area is a little small and nothing too impressive, but the pool area was very hip and the views were awesome. Things got a little scary that night as one of the guest got out of hand and started an altercation with the security so the police had to be called. Our suite was fabulous though and the vibe was cool. However, being on the corner suite we were trying hard to keep all the light out from the big flashing sign that was across the street at the other hotel. Even with the black out shades we could see the light flashing in and had to put a pillow on the floor to hold the curtain closed to keep the light out. Beds were comfy though and once we got to sleep we slept well. We did have to order food from across the street to get coffee and breakfast since they didn't have any place onsite to get that at this time. But, it was a short walk. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a fun place to stay not to mention a great workout if you walk out of the hotel down to Santa Monica Blvd.

Excellent hotel, excellent location, very trendy, you can enjoy a spectacular view especially from the swimming pool. Breakfast not included in the room price but there is the possibility to have it and it is really high quality. staying in the hotel you can access the Skybar for dinner or after dinner ,every evening there's some event but this does not affect the tranquility of the hotel. I recommend it.

It's an attractive hotel in a good location, but the value for cost wasn't great. I stayed four nights. My room had a broken fridge and other guests' hairballs that seemed to pop up from nowhere. Despite putting the sign on the door to make up my room, it wasn't touched during my entire stay. I guess you have to call to the front desk to get your room cleaned and to get fresh towels? Not sure.

Rooms are large but only has double beds.... a bit small for two people. Restaurant closed down and couldn't get a good coffee in the am... there is a coffee maker in the room but not great coffee. Pool was very nice, bar was good and they did offer food from Ospero in the evening.

This is a great spot of a hotel, central to a lot of Hollywood activities. I’d stay here a few nights just to check out the vibe. I was here for a networking event and it was on point. The biggest obstacle is parking. Other than that it’s central to Hollywood hot spots and I’d stay here in the future. The steps down by the pool & be careful going down them.

Hotel has a great location. Our room was a suite which was nice. Housekeeping is terribly uneven. You have to call to get housekeeping, they seem to do a rushed job often forgetting towels or coffee or cups necessitating calls to the front desk to rectify. The pool is small and the lobby looks worn down. There are better choices in weho.

Very unprofessional staff on duty. They did not inform us upon arrival that we had to call room service to have our room cleaned due to COVID. The receptionist at the front desk was quite unfriendly. In addition the hotel does not have Apple Pay and no other solution was proposed from the concierge. Overall it was an unpleasant experience.

  • 2/5 A 1 year ago on Google
Front desk staff are not polite, in fact very rude and dismissive upon check in and check out. Cocktails at the pool were disgusting, gave a few different cocktails a go but all of them were terrible. Don’t waste your time or money there when there are plenty of good bars around. Housekeeping did not replenish coffee, coffee cups or creamer, shampoo or body wash. Nor did they take the trash out. I checked in to a room that hadn’t been vacuumed, collected dust and hair on the bottoms of our feet and the bed sheets had a short curly hair in them (gross). Hallways and doors are in need of a renovation. The best part: The room itself was nice and the bed was very comfortable. All in all a very disappointing experience for the price and apparent reputation. Disappointing and underwhelming sums it up.

Was out in LA for work, 2+ weeks. Extended stay here at the Mondrian. I loved it. The rooms have quirky layouts and each one can be totally different. Totally has the 30's LA + 80's LA mixed vibe. Rooms with kitchens didn't have cups/plates and stuff, def ask the frontdesk to have that dropped into your room when you check in. Bathrooms were immaculate. Lobby has a tiny cafe, pretty good coffee in the AM.

I had a great time. Right in the center of West Hollywood. The location is fantastic. The price is not bad. My room was very clean and modern. I had a spectacular view of the hills and DTLA. The restaurant is undergoing renovation but the room service is available. I ordered breakfast . It was fairly good but it took much longer to get it than they told me. Otherwise everything went well. I will return.

The staff was amazing!! They bent over backwards for us - thank you! The pool and outdoor bar are for a younger crowd. DJ at the pool on the weekend was quite loud, but we were so tired from the day we slept fine, and moved the next day. The room had a desk, large couch, kitchen table and TV on a swivel. Wish the refrigerator was empty for our own drinks vs theirs. Great views of downtown via enormous windows. Fabulous drapes to block morning light. Strong smells of cleaning product throughout main areas were nauseating.

This Hotel's pool area is fully open to the public. We were full paying guests but had nowhere to sit or lounge around. Instead we noticed Ubers dropping off individuals and they just walked into the pool area, no key or ID required. The view is not bad but they really really need to clean the pool, it was pretty dirty so that's a bummer. I agree with other previous guests that this is a party hotel. It was loud DAY AND NIGHT. Difficult to sleep and relax in the room with the obnoxious noise. We also noticed two cockroaches in the tub but we took care of that ourselves so no big deal there. I've stayed at 6 others in the area and this is by far my least favorite. This hotel is not intended for people who want to relax and enjoy a nice clean pool. No peace and quiet at this hotel. Good luck!

I had great expectations. The hotel is too noisy. In my room I constantly hear that loud bang that in some places happens whenever someone opens or closes a tap/valve, or flushes the toilet. I can also hear the noise of water running when someone takes a shower etc. The walls are paper thin and I could hear my loud neighbors from above my room! For the rest, the place is great, really good design and the service is excellent.

What a great hotel!! The staff was super nice and helpful. They sent a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday! The valet crew was charming and fast. And the pool party.. fantastic! We had a really great time and I’m planning on coming back in a few weeks :)
