Service was very slow, but it was largely due to the fact, there was only one waitress who was working as hard as she could and could not keep up. Food was average, but nothing to write home about. The first appetizer was not cooked through, and our crème brûlée for dessert wasn’t set. Overall they failed to meet the standards they set for themselves with their prices.

Great ambience, fantastic setting, and lovely vibe. We had dinner there tonight and I truly enjoyed my “Things on Toast” and the tender loin . . . when it finally arrived. That said, everything on the menu was overpriced and the service was severely lacking. The kitchen could not keep up with the orders and the wait staff were lackluster- slow to respond, overlooking guest orders. almost argumentative when asked for something other than ordering (like cutlery!). They were not well trained and everything about the dinner service seemed out of sequence between the kitchen and the wait staff. It was our first time here and I had heard great things but I was disappointed.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this charming place with a breathtaking view! The food was yummy! the prices are reasonable, portions are not to share for sure (small version). What made this place stand out and made our visit truly memorable was the human touch, specifically the exceptional service we received from Catalina. She was an absolute professional, taking the time to not only provide us with her recommendations from the restaurant's menu but also sharing valuable insights into the city itself. From exciting attractions to visit to hidden gems, Catalina went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable. Her genuine care and attentiveness made us feel like valued guests, and we truly appreciated her going the extra mile. Thank you to the whole team, and especially to Catalina, for making our visit so special!

Cool vibe, lovely view and setting here. The food is also delicious. I had an amazing fresh salad, others enjoyed French onion soup, Brussels sprouts, and some of the famous beef, referred to in the restaurant name. We did our own informal tasting with the help of Spencer, our engaging server. He recommended we try the Rust Syrah, which we all loved! The tasting room and market downstairs is impressive and the staff is friendly.

I recently dined at The Modest Butcher and unfortunately had an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we entered, there was no one to greet us, leaving us standing awkwardly. Eventually, when a waiter did arrive, the service was unprofessional and disorganized. Orders were consistently mixed up, and the drinks were served embarrassingly late. In fact, one of the drinks arrived just as we were getting ready to leave – an unacceptable delay considering it should have been served with our meal. Throughout our time there, our assigned waiter was nowhere to be found, despite there being only a handful of occupied tables in the restaurant. It wasn't as if they were overwhelmed with customers. The lack of attentive service made it difficult to address our concerns or ask for any needed assistance. Even more disappointing was the quality of the food. Our starters, the gnocchi and warmed olives, were incredibly salty, to the point where it overpowered any other flavors. It felt as if we were licking a salt block rather than enjoying a well-balanced dish. Moving on to our mains, both the butcher burger and crispy chicken burger were extremely overcooked. Additionally, the fries that accompanied both burgers were served cold, further adding to our dissatisfaction. The halibut we ordered was extremely overcooked, and given its exorbitant price of $50, the portion size was disappointingly small. Additionally, I feel compelled to mention that the guest who ordered this dish fell ill later that night, leading me to suspect that the quality of the halibut may have been the cause as they felt completely fine during the day. While we sincerely hope that this was an isolated incident and that the management takes necessary measures to address these issues, we cannot, based on our recent experience, recommend dining at The Modest Butcher. It is worth mentioning that we have dined at The Modest Butcher on several previous occasions and had experienced good service and excellent food. However, our recent visit was a complete letdown in terms of both service and food quality. We were disappointed by the lack of attention provided to our concerns by the absent waiter. Considering our past positive experiences, we can only hope that this was an anomaly and that the management takes necessary steps to rectify these issues. As it stands, we cannot recommend The Modest Butcher based on our recent visit.

Hey, what's the deal with burgers at vineyards? I mean, who would have thought that the perfect complement to a fine wine would be a juicy, delicious burger? Well, let me tell you folks, I recently had the pleasure of sinking my teeth into one of the best burgers I've ever had at a vineyard in Kelowna. And to top it all off, I got to enjoy this burger with a nice glass of red wine, overlooking the beautiful vineyard. It was like all the flavors and aromas were working together in perfect harmony. So, if you find yourself in Kelowna, do yourself a favor and try one of these burgers. It's a meal you won't forget!

Went there for the first time, we loved it so much became a member. I had the pork belly appetizer - can't describe how wonderful it was. Then the steak frites - steak done perfectly juicy and tender amazing will definitely go back. Our server Emily was wonderful so attentive.

Nice view, lovely waiter, and excellent food. It was the best pork chop I've had. My husband also loves his gnocchi. Guava punch was freakin good. It's just a bit hard to find the winery and by reservation only. Gonna come back

Took my hubby here for our anniversary. We are both vegetarian so it was nice that there were options for us. My husband got the veganator BLT and I got the lemon herb risotto. Both dishes were delicious! We ended with a deconstructed cheesecake with jam, crispy meringue and fresh fruit. This was hands down one of the best desserts we've had in a while. The service was great as well. Small issue with the dessert as I was told that since it was our anniversary, the dessert would be on the house, however my husband ended up paying for it. When I confirmed with the front desk, they didn't make an issue of it. They gave us a $15 gift card. We will definitely be returning!

Restaurant is beautifully located in the Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery. Setting is stunning. Started with the marinated feta and dipping bread. Perfect amount of season and garlic. The seasoned olives were served warmed. For the entree we had the pan roasted halibut with fresh veggies and roasted potatoes. Delish! The waiter was chatting with us and very helpful. All in all, the restaurant was great.

For starters as much as the Brussels sprouts were amazing, the poutine was bad. Sadly it was the worst poutine I've hate (and I did eat hundreds as I'm from Quebec (home of poutine). A poutine needs french fries, enough cheese and a thick (gravy) sauce. 2 out of 3 failed to deliver. The New York cut steak was very good but nothing special and the veggie main course as well. The service was great! 3 stars is too low, 4 is too high.

Ella was so knowledgeable and a pleasure to have as our server. We will be back for the Tomahawk next time. The Merlot reserve was delicious !

We've only heard good reviews and saw nice pictures of their food here.. BUT It turned out the opposite. It's very strange, it seems that all the people who leave five-star reviews here have never eaten good food. We got a table on the side of their patio. You can still see a bit of the mountains, but mostly, you're looking at a beautiful cement wall right in front of your eyes. The distance between the tables is less than 1 m, so it feels like you are sitting in a huge company of strangers who can literally look into your mouth. You will enjoy their conversations and emotions. It's not very exciting, especially when you just wanted to spend time with your loved one in a private corner over a nice meal and a glass of wine. Tables and seats are absolutely uncomfortable, our table was wobbly, the seat was without armrests, so we had to look for other seats on the patio ourselves and move them. We were excited about the good food. Their famous dish with a huge piece of meat in beautiful pictures on Google costs $150. Had to make do with smaller alternative dishes. Okay, for $70, you usually expect something professionally made anyway. Instead, you are served burnt broccoli, tasteless boiled mushrooms or just two slices of bread, and between them a dried dry piece of bison without any fancy fillers (just a dry piece of meat) called a burger. It's good that after leaving the restaurant, we realized to inquire about their testing. And this time on their lower patio was much better. So this is a new lesson for me. Food may look beautiful in pictures, but it doesn't always taste as good as expected.

First and foremost the views are incredible with service to match! We happened to arrive during happy hour and was well worth it. Certain things that you must try, would be easy, Philly cheesesteak, the pate, muscles and fritz were really well done, The Brussel sprouts were hands-down, some of the best we’ve ever had. They also had fresh tuna tacos, which were delicious. If you want to ball out on a budget, Check out the happy hour!

Reservation recommended for dining and tastings. This place is pretty chilling with nice scenery of the vineyard. The food was delicious. service is great. One of my favourite places. Duck sandwich was good, juicy and not dry Bison burger was a bit dry for us but the sauce and everything complimented each other Harvest salad was good Scallop and pork belly yummmm - juicy scallops and the pork belly was made perfectly Tuna tartar - perfect, sauce was nice and the truffle made a nice touch Peach and Brie sandwich was delightful, not too oily and everything went well together. Crispy Brussel sprouts with hummus - who thought this would good well together? The Brussel sprouts were still crispy under all the sauce

Had the harvest salad with garlic prawns. Portions were generous. Prawns were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Rhubarb made the salad unique. Our waiter was great too. Would definitely recommend.

The food here is absolutely amazing. We came here as part of our wine tour experience. The pork chop was my favorite between the two dish. It was juicy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The duck was good too but it was slightly dryer. However the salad on the duck was super refreshing and had a great dressing. I would absolutely stop by here for a meal and afterwards you can try their wines right downstairs.

😠 Arrived for supper with my daughter for her birthday. We were seated and we were never served after waiting 20 minutes. The table beside us became occupied after we were waiting and they were served and we were completely ignored. We were very disappointed at the lack of service and probably will...
