Not the best experience with staff particularly ANNE who was extremely rude, lacked understanding or compassion and kept speaking over me. I had been wrongly advised that the visa would be dispatched within a week. When I rang after a week Anne didn’t acknowledge this mistake and insisted it would come before the date advised online which was 3 weeks away. Why had I been misadvised then? I would have preferred honestly over being fobbed off with lies. She kept saying things like if I’m talking to you on the phone it’s taking time away from her work and that they are working extra hard to sort it. They suggest online to email them but they don’t tend to respond anyway. So you’re left with no choice but to ring. She wasn’t particularly welcoming or receptive and it was hard to talk to her. She didn’t care about my personal circumstances ie needing the visa in time to get the entry permit in order to keep the existing flight (which I had to change) yet she expected me to care about her time management and organisation. It’s not my problem that they don’t have dedicated people to answer the phone. It doesn’t sound like they are the most organised or efficient of places. I have just got the visa but it turned out it had been issued over a week ago so the delay doesn’t make sense. I don’t know if that was deliberate on her part as many other people had got their visa prior to me. I had to chase them when I didn’t receive it on the date she had advised. Her attitude put you off speaking to them and was unnecessary causing undue stress. It would have been better to speak to someone who was more understanding and had better customer service skills. It’s a shame because up until that point I had spoken to staff who had seemed friendly and approachable.

If I can I wanted to give 0 star, I have been contacted them for a lot of times and no-one is helpful at all. I thought we should be taken care of. I can understand they are not covering everything and busy all the time but the staff is rude and don't want to help at all. We are calling you because we can't find any information and has been directed to you. A polite response would be great not just "DON"T KNOW' Anyways, I just hope you can be more caring and helpful that's all. Thank you.

In my experience, the TRO London's authentication department is just not functioning properly. It is very disappointing. Staff do not identify themselves in emails. The website is a bit of a mess, and the current document authentication tariff is in the wrong language/currency (now corrected after I informed them of them and the ministry of the error). I can't vouch for the rest of the office.

I want to give 0 stars if I could ! The staff has lack of basic knowledge for Taiwan law and policy, bad training and unprofessional as all you got just contact Taiwan and get the information by yourself. I had sending few emails just for one subject question and still got NO clear answer but remind you don't forget the FEE(££) and they told you to find the information in Taiwan by yourself again and again. Never realised the staffs standards so low ... what a shame and embarrassment.

Called the embassy to ask about the international driving license. The staff is very rude and cut me off mid sentence. Definitely not the Taiwanese culture here!

Kindest Consulate Service, Taiwanese are renound for their kind hearts and amazing willingness to help. I found Anne and her team at the consulate to be always eager to help me in my queries and I know their office is extremely busy this time of year with everyone wanting to get to Taiwan for September, so I was surprised to find their service to be impeccable despite this busy summer. Anne made a special effort to make sure my friend and I would be able to get to Taiwan in time for our university semester. I'm so excited to be off to Taipei and the website and pdfs online were perfect in advising me how to get my visa to Taiwan. The only thing I would advise other travellers - please remember the Taipei consulte is busy and being kind to the people who are trying to help you makes life easier for everyone. Thank you!

The attitude of the person on the phone is unbelievably bad and impatient. I wonder how government officials can be that rude to their own people. I am pretty ashamed...

A very polite, speedy and courteous service. This is an exemplar service for any consulate in terms of the quality of customer service, and the way with which documents are dealt with. Impressive points: 1. no need to book an appointment for both submitting and collecting documents 2. documents can be submitted very quickly 3. if consulate requires some extra documents, they can contact you and you can provide them by e-mail or by post. 4. visa collection timescale was less than 5 working days for me Impeccable Service 5/5

If you're a Taiwan enthusiast, this diplomatic office in London is an absolute must-visit spot. From the embassy's window, you can catch a sight of Taiwan's national flag standing there and even catch a glimpse of the president's portrait. It's a special place that allows you to feel closer to Taiwan while in London.

Very helpful staff!! Over the past few weeks I have been trying to sort out my visa and they have been emailing me back with all their help and answers very quickly, despite my continuous questions! Quite a quick turnaround too (I did pay for express service)

Quick email response to my enquiries. The visa issuing service was comparatively quick, despite the substantial number of applications after Taiwan's post Covid reopening.

Very disappointed, and feel like them don’t care any of your struggle if that is not directly relate to their work(eg, Visa) Huge question if they will actually help any national overseas.

I have had dealings with various diplomatic missions all over the world and found them to (usually) be burocratic, inflexible Jobsworths that will seemingly go out of their way to make life difficult. My dealings with them have showed them to be courteous and helpful in every possible way, and they are always prepared to go the extra mile to smooth the various procedures that I have been involved with. This is typical of most of the Taiwanese people I have met on my frequent trips there. Well done and thank you.

Amazing kind service, clear explanation for every process. A bit of shame that their charging system still in old fashion way; cash only.

I do not understand the statement that is on this platform Taiwan is not associated with China Taiwan is an independent country It is not owned by China they should have a fully fledged Embassy In the UK

I've had a family emergency, and have reached out to the Consular services to find a fast track solution to get an entry permit. From phone to email support - the staff was extremely efficient, helpful, friendly and made this experience seamlessly straightforward. I've renewed my passport & got an entry permit in speedy record time.I'm eternally grateful to the Consular team in London. Thank you again for your help on this occasion.
