Alpine was definitely better back when we were kids. Sometimes we actually get snow it’s fun to shred the fresh pow. They definitely have a nice little park every year. Just the hill is smaller compared to other ones just means more runs in. But this place will always be one of my favorite spots to snowboard always so close to home you can’t beat it. And growing up here as a kid brings back so many good memories will all my friends. It’s cool we can still all meet up and have fun together!

Nice place to learn how to sky, especially for children - it isn't like the Alps of course but it's top elevation of 1,500 ft (460 m) is always something nice to not loose the habit.

Enjoyed my first time there with my family and friends. I would have given it 4 stars but the rope run near the bunny hill was not working and the chair lift near the middle (can’t remember which run it was) was dangerous. It had a buildup of snow and was moving way too fast so if guys skis were dangling down at it you would be pulled off the chair. The runs themselves are what you expect for lower Michigan. Nothing too great but still fun. They have a terrain park for the thrill seekers. It is close to home so I’ll be back soon.

Our grandson had an amazing time, which is great so I would like to give this place a 5 star rating; however, I feel it prudent to include that we were advised to be there an hour early and we were but we still ended up being late for our kiddos snow board lesson because the place was packed! Also, it was quite cold, and both of the hot cocoa machines were out of order. The most important thing to mention, though, is that there was wood fencing rather than adequate protection for novice skiers and snow boarders alike at the bottom of the bunny hill. There should have been something softer like hay bales or possibly old tires.

The all day pass is the best deal in my opinion if you can make the day of it. The guys in the rental shop are a little hit or miss. The weekend crew is not as good as the team you come in contact with during the week. Weekends can get a bit crowded so if you can go during the week. The place hasn't changed much over the years. It would be nice if they made some upgrades. The food options are a bit limited so plan ahead. You might want to pack your own food if you can swing it. Evenings can get a little busy with all the kids showing up after school let's out. Still a fun place to go from time to time.

This is one of the best ski hills in SE Michigan (as good as it gets) there are multiple slopes including terrain features for different levels. They constantly change the terrain features so it's good visiting often.

My first experience with skiing so nothing to compare it to but overall a fun experience. The instructors (esp Mark) were WONDERFUL!! So patient and kind and truly made the trip enjoyable. All of the staff were very professional and courteous with the exception of the 1 young jerk with the rental equipment. The lodge itself was old and not very clean. We came at the very end of the season so no crowd at all but also no group lessons. Individual lessons plus lift tickets which were never used made it very expensive. The magic carpet thingy didn't even work!!

My son and I skied Alpine Valley last Sunday. We are both ski instructors and have years of skiing experience. We were blown away with the quality of the snow at Alpine Valley! I had known that the snowmaking at Alpine is exceptional because of the cooling of the water prior to going into the gun, making them able crystallize the ice cold water faster to form powder and not ice granules. The snow at Alpine allows holding an edge to provide more stability at all skier levels, so give it a try, you will see the difference the first run. The resort has also been upgraded in the lodge, and it was clean, well appointed, and really cozy with multiple fireplaces for warming and relaxing. My son and I both commented on the tree lined runs that give Alpine Valley an upnorth feel, unlike other local resorts that are devoid of trees or lacking in trees that not only serve as a windbreaker, but create a beautiful contrast between the white snow and the green pine trees. Having skied all of the resorts in Southeast Michigan, I have to say that Alpine Valley is my choice. It has steeper runs that don't drop sharply and then flatten the balance of the run like other local areas. It also has wide beginning and intermediate runs that are serviced by easy to load and unload chairlifts. Beginners should only consider Alpine Valley since their Bunny Hill has an extremely log carpet lift that feeds to two very long and wide beginner runs that are simply safer than others due to the expansive area for beginner lessons and practice. I am not normally a reviewer, but I love skiing and am always trying to get others to give it a try. That's why I hope you will get to Alpine Valley yet this season. Have fun sliding!

I like Alpine, however the restrooms are always dirty, and prices don't exactly match the quality of the facilities. I recommend to always bring your own equipment, rentals are too worn out and uncomfortable. You can do better, guys!

For a metro Detroit ski spot, it’s fun. A variety of different runs on a variety of skill levels. Nothing too hard but enough to have fun. A few terrain parks. Last winter they even set up a skier/boardercross run (hope they do that again). Magic carpet for the bunny hill…. All in all it’s a nice spot but will in no way knock your socks off.

Close to the house, they do a great job of making snow. The staff is friendly but needs a major overhaul. Been in the condition it's in sense 20 yrs ago now. Overall 3 out of 5 stars

Not too busy, everyone's pretty spread out. My 12 year old some had a snowboard lesson and loved it. The instructor was amazing with him and it was more of a hang out with them so my son was much more attentive. We had amazing cocoa afterwards, the hornets nest has a great view and warm drinks for the adults. The rental process was easy as well.

👍👍 I spoke with one of the members last year while sledding with my kids, and we reminisced about the former house on Haven Hill and the overall park. It's nice to know there is a group of individuals wanting to preserve as much of the park and its structures as possible, all on a volunteer basis. Next...

😠 This used to be a magical place. My children loved visiting Santa at “his” cabin for the past 8 years.
