A breakfast made for Kings! If your looking for the best, most spiciest, green sauce, then this place is a must come see! Check the picture out, it's freshly made super spicy incredible green sauce! The sauce made this meal so good, I can't wait to come back again! No other Mexican restaurant can beat their super spicy tasty homemade green salsa! My nose was running off the charts and I loved it! Service was more than exceptional! One lady continued to cap off my coffee while the other would come by and all how I was doing. I even got to take home a cup of coffee! I truly felt like a King here! I came here at 8:35am 27 December 2021. They had about 6 other tables there and they was able to keep me happy! If you go in with a good attitude, you leave with a even better attitude! I'll highly recommend this place for all!

My first thought was “How good can a Mexican food restaurant in Whitney, TX be?” Well, the answer is that it’s SO GOOD!!!! I had just spent a night visiting with family and was starving and couldn’t wait until I got back to Waco to get food. I also had a rough hangover and Mexican food usually does the trick. My parents recommended the place and I’m so glad they did. The restaurant definitely had that hole-in-the-wall vibe, which I love. Prices were good and you got a good serving of food. We LOVED the house green sauce. It was unlike any other I’ve had. I ordered the New Mexico Enchiladas and opted to add the fried egg on top. The sauces and egg were the perfect mix and when I left I was happy and full. I can’t forget to mention the staff. Every person I encountered in the restaurant was very friendly and attentive. Kudos to all of them! I hope to come back the next time I visit the area!

Food was amazing!!! Service was fast and very very friendly!! You can tell the staff cares about their jobs as well as any customers that walk thru the door.

We went through the drive through and ordered the enchilada plate and a taco salad and Queso and chips… got no chips the beef in the taco salad had no taste was bland. The beef enchiladas was very bland as well. Waited to long for the order and it cost to much. We were discussing in the food. Probably won’t go back.

You have to eat here if you're ever in the area. Promise the service is amazing those young lady's made the experience the best. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was amazing haven't been to restaurant like this in a long time.

Best restaurant in and around whitney. Never had a complaint. Service is fast and food is great. The employees are amazing and bring a great welcoming atmosphere to the restaurant. 100 times better then ANY place in whitney.. it's a must try..

I stopped here on my way out of town after staying at the State Park nearby. The food here was exactly what I was looking for. I haven't had a breakfast burrito like this since I lived in Tucson. They were awesome. Great, friendly service as well. Prices are great too. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Food is absolutely delicious and the prices are reasonable. Waitresses were amazing. Always nice to find a place like this. Will be back and you should stop by here if you find yourself in the area.

I have eaten at Montes about half adozen times and my food has always been fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the puffy tacos or the gorditas.

Great breakfast burritos! This little nugget is where you meet up for coffee and breakfast with all your Whitney neighbors. I had a coffee and a potato, egg and cheese burrito while I sat and listened to everyone to chat with everyone. Fun place! Fantastic service! Maria is the best.

THE BEST FAJITAS IN TEXAS. They cut them in thinner slices and grill them to perfection and brown them perfectly. Love the beans too. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE WAITRESSES They are hilarious They are friendly They are awesome. When you go in to the restaurant You are treated like family even if it's your 1st time there. It's a country atmosphere with down to earth people. I drive 3hrs to go there and wouldn't do that if the food and service wasn't worth it. I live in a College town with a ton of Mexican restaurants but by far Montes is my favorite

I stop in there often to get menudo most of the time but occasionally get burritos or a skillet breakfast. The staff is really friendly.

I must say they have the greatest burritos in the area, and the prices are much lower than what I expected. Two burritos, chips, and their salsa which is bold, good tasting and has the perfect kick to it! Employees running it are friendly and feels like a family environment.

Green salsa wasn't all that good. The food order i had was good and it was an omlet with the works. Filling and tasted good. Added red salsa and that tasted great.

Very friendly staff, clean restroom and the food was great! Will definitely eat here again next time I'm passing through. Would recommend to friends and family also.

Visited area and ate breakfast here several times via drive-thru pickup. Service average and consistent. Drive-thru staff friendly. Food quality inconsistent. First tortillas gooey. Last couple of days fluffier, which is good with a tortilla. Carne guisada, beans, and cheese burrito twice. The first was great with meat throughout and not too chunky beans not too runny. The second had too much of the stew sauce and not enough beans and hardly any meat. Chorizo egg and cheese. Good mix of eggs and chorizo, but don't put much in the large tortilla. Chorizo, potato and cheese. I'm used to the chorizo that you mix in eggs. This chorizo is the sausage type. I've never had this much, but it wasn't unwelcome. However, there weren't that many potatoes. Compared to other places, they give a good amount of cheese in the burritos. I didn't like the red sauce. It was more like an enchilada sauce than hot sauce. I wasn't crazy about the green sauce, which had a creamy texture, but it wasn't bad. Was only mild and not hot, which is fine with me. Overall, I'd give it a 4 if it wasn't for the lack of consistency in quality. The food has potential, but be consistent in how you prepare it.

Food was great. Awesome enchiladas. But the guacamole was nothing but mashed up avacados. And not an issue, but beware of the green sauce. Wow it's hot! But I will go back again.

I had a lunch from there, tacos and burritos and for two it run under 20 the food was outstanding and was full afterwards. The service was okay at the drive thru but pleasant enough

Waited 1hr hour for order only to watch 2 tables who came in after we ordered get their food and we never got ours; they are short staffed and we were understanding and they gave us free chips and salsa, but we never got the food we ordered and left after waiting so long.

I ordered the lunch special of the day, a 3 beef taco plate with charro beans and rice. A very short wait and received my plate ready to dig in. The tacos were nicely put together and seasoned to my liking. The charro beans were tender and tasty, along with the rice. The salsa had a nice kick that tingled my tastebuds. The waitress was super prompt and friendly. Overall a good experience and recommended if you want Mexican food in Whitney.

BAD SERVICE!!!! Ordered 2 plates of huevos rancheros and 2 burritos. Waited 45 minutes to have the 2 plates delivered without the burritos. In those 45 minutes the people that came in after us had ordered and were served before us. Waited another 15 minutes for burritos that never made it to our table. Meanwhile 20+ other customers that walked in after us had ordered were now eating. Apparently cooks don’t follow the tickets or they didn’t like our waitress who by the way was very nice. We ended up leaving because the plates were cold now that we were waiting for the burritos. Management not present!

Service was friendly and the chips and various sauces were really good, but the meat filling in enchiladas and on chalupas and the gravy wasn’t very flavorful. They need to clean the place up a bit. A mop bucket right by front door doesn’t make a good impression. Would we go back? No.
