Rooms are spacious and lovely and the grounds are nice but this hotel is absolutely not five stars. We traveled during the Christmas/New Year's period which is admittedly very busy, but the service was really, really poor. We arrived at 3:30pm and were told our rooms wouldn't be ready for an hour. Check in is 3pm and no one communicated this with us before, despite having a chain of email correspondences and also communication on LINE. Warm, the manager on duty, was completely unapologetic when we raised this as an issue, although it does seem like she didn't have much authority to remedy the situation. The hotel, I believe, is being transitioned to a Marriott and it seems like no one on the property cares about the experience of the guests at all. On our first day, we returned to our rooms at 1:15pm and they had not yet been cleaned. Again, staff was unapologetic to the poor service. Breakfast was good; beds comfortable, but service is extremely lacking so overall, our stay was very disappointing and I could caution against making this your base in Chiang Rai.

One of the best hotels in Chiangrai. The room was spacious and comfortable, the shower and bathroom were very well equipped with everything you need. The vibe along the Kok river beside the hotel was very nice and you could see beautiful sunset here. The swimming pool was good but was cold during winter. We stayed in building number 5 - the garden access room so our kids could get out to the swimming pool through the balcony. The morning breakfast was very good with cold press juices. For those who come with seniors, you need to be very careful with the step near the big monkey pot tree coz my aunt who was at her 73 couldn’t see the step and fell down here. And it was our first night of the trip so was a bit scary. And I think the hotel should put a warning sign near the step for safety reasons. Apart from that I really enjoyed my stay there.

The property is gorgeous and very serene and relaxing. The staff are lovely. Very accomodating, friendly and professional. The beds and pillows are very very comfortable and there the bathroom is a great size with very strong water pressure. Fantastic buffet breakfast in the morning. Rooms are very quiet Disliked · It would be great if the hotel had more options for in room dining. I don't think most people travel to northern Thailand to eat Italian and the other options to choose from are very limited. But the food they do offer is very good.

We’ve just had a fabulous stay at Le Meridien Chiang Rai. The staff are fabulous especially housekeepers and the breakfast crew. The gardens are spectacular and the rooms are spacious and oh so comfortable. We were here 10 years ago and it’s still just as good.

15 August 2022. Drove all the way from Bangkok and stayed here 10 nights at the Grand Deluxe Wing. An excellent hotel by the river Kok with exceptional service. Large, beautifully kept ground with lots of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and many only God knows what insects. There were a few bats too but those only comes out at dusk.🦇🦇🦇❤️ Breakfast buffet was excellent, enhanced by an exceptional team of chefs and servers. After our first couple of nights, the staffs began to remember a name and/or our room number. They also realized that we still had many more nights left and asked us if we were still ok with the buffet, or would like to have something else for breakfast! 😲❤️🙏 So we took their offer and tried some simple and delicious dishes for breakfast that were other than the already excellent buffet. Greatly appreciated! 🙏❤️😋 No matter where we sat, dirty dishes were promptly whisked away and empty coffee cups refilled. Thank you so very much for your attention and lovely smiles.❤️ Our room was very nice and big, with a walk in closet opposite to a huge bathroom (see picts). Bathroom ventilation was good, and the toilet recharged quickly. Water pressure at the shower head was good, but water temperature fluctuated quite a bit (a minor nuisance 😤). AC was icy cold ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ Room soundproofing was very good. It kept out the occasional loud music from the city park across the river very well, but nothing could subdue the occasional overly excited guests from shouting/ screaming by the pool (kids and adults alike! 😵‍💫🤬). Signs reminding inconsiderate guests not to scream and shout, play music/ watch movies loudly through phone speakers, not to smoke while at the pool and on room balconies could be helpful. Thankfully it is very quiet after sunset (most likely with the help of mosquitoes), and dead silence by midnight. 😴😪❤️ Housekeeping was excellent and runs like clockwork. We were asked at check in as to what time we would like our room cleaned and turned down. 😲 We didn’t believe it could be done, but appreciated the effort. Our room was always cleaned and ready every time we returned in the afternoon (around 2pm), and the turned down team was always well within 10 minutes of the 6 pm preferred turned down time! Very excellent indeed! ❤️ Laundry service was also excellent. Picked up after breakfast and returned by the afternoon. ❤️ So a million thank you to each and every single one of you for your professionalism and great efforts in making our stay a very pleasant one. We will definitely visit again next time we come to Chiang Rai. Highly recommended! Wonderful team! 👍 Thank you so very much for everything! 🙏👏❤️🥰

Pretty standard rooms for Le Meridien. Good breakfast selections. They also have various banquet halls for large corporate events. This property is spacious and generous with green open spaces. There are nice hotel shops for traditional Northern fashionable clothes and unique souvenirs. Dont miss the walking path along the river in the morning, it is relaxing and therapeutic.

Another Marriotts chain hotel with beautiful lake and mountain. Staffs are very polite and friendly. Breakfast was very good with variety of foods as expected from Marriotts. Swimming in the pool at night was very romantic for couples. The grand deluxe room was large, clean, and cozy. They use down pillows, down comforter, and topper. They have a nice shower room and bathtub with 2 sinks and a toilet. A walk-in closet is good. The view from the balcony is stunning!

The Le Meridien resort in Chiang Rai is an outstanding resort! It is beautifully located at the river with a wonderful garden/park and an amazing swimming pool. Our room was very spacious (53 sqm) with a large and super comfortable bed, a bathroom with shower and bathtub and a lot of cabinets. Even the balcony has a very good size and comfortable seating. Breakfast buffet offers nearly everything you can image. All staff members in the resort are so kind and friendly! A special thanks goes to Nita from the reception team. She made our stay unforgettable by taking such good care of us, giving us tips and organising a private sightseeing tour for us. If we come back to Chiang Rai we will definitely stay at the Le Meridien again!

The place is a dream. The staff very friendly and professional. The surrounding area in the hotel is perfect. Clean and well maintained. The rooms are big and bed is super confortable lots of hot water. The view I got from a huge amazing tree was inspiring. Breakfast food was really good. Good selection. Staff very kind and helpful. Italian restaurant not so good as for Italian food. The worst is the gentleman that set me on a table he said all tables near the river where all reserved. He set me on the last back table. Then a lady saw me and set me near the river. As l I finished and left, most tables where still empty. Very bad service from just one person. His attitude was not worth for this hotel.

This was among one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had. While the grounds are indeed beautiful the real stars here are the staff! Professional, friendly, cheerful- every single employee is going above and beyond at every opportunity to make your stay outstanding. The spa massage with Koi was especially fantastic and None at the concierge desk was brilliant with helping organize a driver and giving excellent suggestions for stops. Can not recommend highly enough!

Had an amazing stay at Le Méridien! Very peaceful and quiet place surrounded by nature. The food at the restaurant near the river, Favola, is delicious from typical Thai food to very good Italian food. Breakfast was great too with different type of cuisine and a lot of choice. People working at the hotel were very kind. Will definitely come back! IG: @emmysroads

Just fantastic, stand out hotel with great architecture, atmosphere, interior design and service. We would absolutely come again. Parking available en masse. However, not the place for you if you want to have a great pool. Pool is mediocre. But they offer plenty of other activities from yoga classes to art workshops. We will come again. Breakfast was great.

Generally a good stay. Several positives: + Generally good service throughout. Most of the service staff we encountered throughout the place were friendly and helpful. + We got a grand deluxe room, and it was spacious and comfortable enough for our family of 2 adults and 2 children. + Comfortable resort compound. Landscaping was tastefully done, and we felt relaxed walking around. Good vibes for a resort. + Spa was good. We went to 3 different spas during our vacation (the other 2 were in Chiang Mai), and the level of service at this one was the best of the 3. There were however a few disappointments that made this a 4-point review instead of 5: - For a place that calls itself a "resort", there are few facilities/amenities. For example, there was no operational kids club, which we thought was rather disappointing. - Sound insulation in the room is bad. There was a festival across the river on our first night, and the music kept us awake until the wee hours. - The temperature control for the shower in the bathroom was not working well too. Even when we did not touch anything, the temperature of the water kept fluctuating throughout the shower.

Absolutely amazing! I was there for 5 days but could’ve stayed longer without getting bored. The spot by the river was calm, relaxed and good for reading, even working. The service was impeccable, from check in, all restaurants, housekeeping until checkouts. Every single staff member was helpful and accommodating!

Le Meriden is an extremely beautiful property . It definitely is not 5 stars . After a morning full of activity we arrived at hotel at 3:30 to be told that rooms would not be ready for another hour. (Check-in is 3:00 ) On next day we returned to rooms that had not been cleaned which was problematic as we had a 4 year old who needs a nap . In preparation for visit we emailed concierge and they took 2 days for a reply . Called spa on two occasions and never got an answer . Also disappointing is concierge suggested an unethical elephant sanctuary . Spoke with General Manager twice and she was unapologetic saying they were busy. Had she shown some remorse , pretty sure I wouldn’t have sent this review.

Love everything about this hotel... the lush ground, delicious breakfast, spacious room and lovely staff. I could not fault my stay! Special thanks to Put from Front Office who checked me in and had been helpful throughout my stay. Whilst the location is not in the city center, it gives you a peaceful lake/river view and the serenity that you need for a restful getaway. I would recommend this to first timer Chiang Rai's visitors as the hotel embodies the destination - calm, charming and verdant.

Good location and service. It lived up to Le Meridien standard. Big morning buffet line with good quality. It is indeed a big hotel and could get a little noisy during peak and long weekends. Spa could be improved. Facility is a bit old.

I had a wonderful experience here. The room was well-apportioned and immaculately clean. Day-to-day service was outstanding. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding and Latitude 19 was relaxing with friendly staff. The property is gorgeous and well-kept. My stay here was probably as good or better than any hotel I've been to. Can't miss here.

Great stay. Room are spacious and love the balcony where you can also relax. Extra bonus to the beds, they’re really comfy. The Italian restaurant at the premises is tasty with affordable price. Surroundings are quite, just enough restaurants around, however do note that it’s 2-3km to the city center. Will stay again.

The customer service I received at reception and throughout my stay was unbelievable, in particular from Warm-supervisor and Ms Puy, who I must say made my journey so well with while beyond a doubt. Pear looked after Hong and me in the restaurant, and we were genuinely incredible, ensuring I was treated like a king. Lastly, I must mention Dewey, who was a trainee in reception delivering welcome drinks and wet towels, but she excels in service and, as the saying goes, "first impressions count", and Dewey Our and Warm did that for sure. The room was beautiful and clean, managed by Jackie, and honestly cannot recommend my stay here enough.

This is a beautiful place to be. Rooms are super spacious, the garden is green and nicely arranged, the pool is hugh and comfortable. Good bar, good restaurant. The staff is ver friendly and helpful (24hrs available) Only downside are the significantly higher prices for everything vs other hotels (minibar is ca 2-3 times the price I am used from other Thai hotels with same quality)

Indeed worthy of 5-stars. Well maintained resort with courteous staff. Attention was paid to every detail Comfortable rooms and a lavish breakfast. Don’t miss the Favola restaurant. The pizzas and sandwiches were great. Last Minute hosts the daily breakfast The grounds are adorned with a 200 year old tree that covers a quarter of the area around the pool. Cool air blows in as the escort is along the Kok riverside. Markets are nearby and good restaurants are just around the corner. Rooms were large. We took the garden view room which looked over the pool and the tree. Room amenities were sufficient. Quite good and can come again

Tranquil, nice ambient, relaxing atmosphere resort style hotel with great swimming pool just next to river Kok, The staff here were brilliant. Incredibly exceptional service, very friendly and helpful staff here, never experienced any great service like this before! We’ve got upgraded to King bed, river and pool view room, the room is spacious and cozy with proper working area, the bed is so comfortable, the room is so clean and luxury at the same time. We really had great time staying here, would highly recommended this hotel to anyone who come to visit Chiang Rai. It’s definitely TOP HOTEL in Chiang Rai!!!

We stayed 4 nights and 5 days. The staff especially the F&B team were excellent. They prepared delicious lacto-vegetarian meals everyday for breakfast and for dinner at Favola according to our requests. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely ambience with scenic location that overlooks the river. We have a pleasant stay overall and the the staff are excellent. Great breakfast spread of local and Western. Away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and a perfect retreat.

Very good location beside the river. This hotel has perfect view of the river. The hotel is quite big with a lot of rooms, large grassland for picnic and different restaurants to choose. The trees here are really impressive, the biggest tree is beside the swimming pool and it’s super huge. The breakfast is buffet, there’s a lot of choices and all of them are quite good. We had a pleasant experience here.

Love the nature surrounded. it's only 150 Baht ride for airport limousine. The room is huge with high ceiling. It's definitely the place to stay in Chiangrai. The room with river view is quite a walk from the lobby. Breakfast is best outside during winter. It's not fancy but OK.

We stayed 2 nights there, and the experience was lovely. Good breakfast. It met our expectation from this high standard hotel except one small overlook. On the day of our checkin we found the chair cushions at the balcony were wet from the early rain. They should have checked the room before we arrived as they were expecting us

5 star hotel under Marriott chain. Really big space and in a good location. The room is so big and comfy. U can take a good rest with this resort

The staffs were nice to us. The scenery was fabulous!! We stayed there for 2 nights. The bedroom were comfortable and made you don't want to leave the room. The bed and pillow were super cozy and soft. Breakfast was okay but fb service staffs were good at their duty. I hope they have more variety of food. But there was one incident that I was shocked. The guest was asking for egg benedict but the staff told him that the sauce is running out and cannot cook for them anymore and that was only 9am (they close their breakfast at 10am). Omelette was terrible ugly :'(

This is a large hotel/resort set next to the river on large grounds. Its a great place to relax after a long day of sight seeing with a cocktail to see the sunset. The Italian restaurant is new, modern and tasty with a good happy hour drinks. The breakfast buffet was also quite extensive
