i only rate two because of the two RNs that actually helped me to fix my issue. however, if it wasnā€™t for them itā€™d be a 0/5. the receptionist woman with grey hair was extremely rude and chaotic. she caused a commotion all because SHE was unaware of her workplaces rules and also because she wasnā€™t paying attention and more than two people came in for one patient. she should have been paying attention and reminded them as soon as she saw them. furthermore, the charge nurse megan was even more problematic. she yelled at the guests of the patients who were there because their nephew/son was in crisis. rather than offering for them to sit in the main lobby of the other hospital instead of waiting inside theirs (since thereā€™s a 2 person limit) she just threatened to call security! this was very unprofessional and honestly made me, a bystander, feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. the way that these nurses handled this situation was not respectful or compassionate to the situation the patients were in. As a nurse itā€™s your responsibility and job to be kind and understanding in order to create an environment where your patients feel they can trust their love ones with their life. frankly, i do not trust these nurses or this establishment and was sad to see them be treated this way. i hope that you speak to these nurses and explain why they should not act this way and the weight their actions could potentially have on a confused, and worried patient or loved one.

The only reason Iā€™m giving one star is because it doesnā€™t allow me to post without it but regarding my experience, I give my experience zero stars. I was forgotten in the waiting area for 2 hours. If I hadnā€™t gotten up and walked to the reception desk and complained, who knows how much longer I would have waited. There was no communication between the imaging department and the ER. So no one ever came to get me. When I asked the receptionist how long it would be, she said ā€œ The ER has no etaā€ , ā€œThere is no list to tell you what position you are inā€, ā€œ and no, I can not call imaging and askā€, ā€œ just sit and waitā€. I finally found a supervisor and told her what was going on. She called imaging and found out there was no wait and that they didnā€™t even know I was waiting to be seen. The supervisor then personally walked me down there and my images took maybe 2 minutes. So I waited 2 hours for something that took 2 minutes to achieve. Unacceptable!!! I then went back to the waiting area which by the way is an uncomfortable plastic and metal chair with a curtain, in a 2 foot space. I waited another hour just for the doctor to look at the images and tell me nothing was wrong and printed me papers to take home. There is something seriously wrong with my shoulder and I got zero help but an outrageous bill! I have zero faith in the health system in this country and yes, I am an American born and raised. This experience was 100% unacceptable and extremely Unprofessional. This situation could of gone a lot worse. They could of opened that curtain to a dead person. I should sue for negligence and get the entire hospital shut down! Your hospital and staff should not be eligible to treat human beings! Being ā€œbusyā€ or ā€œ overwhelmed ā€œ is no excuse for neglect and stupidity! This is a hospital, specifically the ER and being busy and overwhelmed is exactly what you signed up for!!! GET A NEW CAREER OR STEP THE **** UP!!!

I'm not happy. From first arriving to leaving was about an hour. Never was taken to a room, sat in a chair with no privacy, went for x-rays, then discharged. ALL while sitting in a chair in the HALLWAY!! (Which was where the door for being discharged was) I'm not happy about no privacy AND the LACK of care/compassion for the patient, who was myself. I will be talking with my insurance company to make sure they are NOT being charged improperly. I would have been better off staying home. At least that way I would of had PRIVACY.

4 hrs to get an X-ray and ankle wrapped for a sprained ankle. ER was very busy . Some who were really sick had been there a lot longer then we were but the staff were all very nice. We would have just gone to immediate care but since Covid you have to call in the morning to get an appointment for the afternoon. I just donā€™t understand. Thatā€™s not immediate care. Who wakes up in the morning and says oh I know I am going to get hurt I better call and get an appointment? I wish immediate care would go back to the way it was intended to be.

I went in to the ER with a severe allergic reaction that was causing my mouth and throat to start swelling shut, and my asthma kicking in high gear. I wasn't in the waiting room more than two minutes and was greeted by five staff when brought back to the room. Every single member of the staff was kind, educated, and calm. They were able to get the allergic reaction under control fairlyquicklybut kept me for a bit for observation. It was an extremely scary situation and I would of given them 10 out of 10 if it was an option. Thank you!ā¤

I was very disappointed!!! This use to be a great hospital but now it's not. I was there for 6 hrs had my vitals checked 2 times. Then after my ride left we thinking I would be admitted. I was told I was going to go home. My home is an hour away I had to get one of my friends to bring me home. Then win my patience had ran out the checked me out as an ada. So when I told them I had had enough they finally sent me out with blood running down my arm. They wrapped some gauze around it and sent me on my way. I will not go back there ever again.

My son had a peritonsillar abscess and was in Horrible pain. We had the Best Nurses and a wonderful Provider that listened to our concern and acted immediately. So many times I have seen Nurses and providers act opposite of what patient or family is thinking. She was willing to give info and listen. She deserves to go places for sure. She is a rare breed. The Nurses were on it. The minute she ordered something or if we called they were there. They had a couple pts accusing and yelling at them and they handled it amazing, stearn but respectful! I would be proud to be a part of their team. I couldn't say that for many places of any type of trade right now!

Had to go again yesterday. Ended up being another blood clot, but they insisted masks, yet girl checking in, had mask down, eating something then touching my id and stuff w/o cleaning hands. Almost 5 hours there, yet about 4 of it was sitting alone. They ck you in, then still want you to do stuff on phone with same questions. Sure it'll cost thousands to sit there and bet 1 narco pill they gave, will cost more than whole script. Had me pee in cup and take with me, but going home finally, urine specimen still just sitting on floor.

The Dr was absolutely professional and explained everything to where my husband and I could understand what she was saying. On the other hand, we were moved from the waiting room to these chairs in the hallway with absolutely no information as to why, several nurses passed by us, and we sat there for 45 minutes to an hour. There was no communication with us as patients until I went to find someone to ask why it was taking so long.

Forgot to put an allergy bracelet on me for my latex allergy. Also, the people that did my discharge information said that I still use an old insurance even though I told them I no longer had them. So when I went to pick up my prescriptions I had to pay all out of pocket because the hospital messed up. I wish I could give a 5 for the triage nurse that admitted me and a zero everywhere else. The traveling nurses from Florida did an excellent job hooking my IVs up and making it an enjoyable experience.

Worst experience Iā€™ve ever had at an emergency room, this coming from someone whoā€™s always had generally positive experiences whenever Iā€™ve come to Via Christi, my treatment shouldnā€™t depend upon how much staff is available at the time of my admittance, I understand itā€™s hard to predict what happens on a nightly basis but after my ā€œtreatmentā€ on 10/29/23 I will never come back. And to make matters worse, they wrote my prescription up to the wrong pharmacy causing me to come out of pocket for my meds. I understand this couldā€™ve been solved by a phone call but after spending 5 hours and getting close to no results, I just wanted to be done with via Christi altogether.

Great staff! Very caring and professional, they always do a great job under extreme pressure. I have received the best care, through the ER, when I was an inpatient for surgery, and an outpatient for testing and therapy.

The people were kind, caring, and helpful. Doctors and staff addressed any questions or concerns I had. They did seem a little short-staffed, but it might have been an unusually busy day.

My husband was treated and released in a timely manner. The ER people that I talked to by phone were very courteous and helpful. One of the people, Kim, called the next morning to check on my husband's progress.

Was there over 5 hours. Never got a room. They leave you in a waiting room in the back. Doesn't matter your pain and location of pain. Over two hours to give you an IV and then they send you back to the waiting room. There are beds in the hallways for those that did get a bed. They are happy to finally put you in a room for a few minutes to discharge you. Overall not very well staffed, not well attended to, they really should send patients somewhere else.

The service was slow but it was a full house and that is understandable. During the wait a patient was becoming unruly and the staff did a great job relocating the patient without an uproar. Each person that helped my son was very kind from the front desk registration. They explained everything and explained the medications. I am thankful for such an awesome first time experience. Please go to the emergency room with time and patience. There are patients coming in through EMS or with a higher priority to be seen but everyone will get help. Thank you to all the staff

We went in after my 2 year old fell and busted her lip open. As soon as we got to the desk in the emergency room the person at the front desk asked what happened so I kind of turned my head towards my daughter to show my daughters lip. The lady said "I need you to talk to me" I guess because I wasn't looking at her that meant I wasn't talking to her. Very rude! I have major anxiety and have a hard time looking at people in the eyes to begin with. We waited almost two hour in the waiting room (which I fully understand can happen as it's a wait your turn operation) but we waited over two hours to finally make it to triage where the nurse literally put her finger on my daughter's lip then teeth then said oh she's fine no stitches needed.... she didn't look at her mouth or pull her lip up to see it. We were in triage for less then a minute and pretty much scooted right out. While I'm waiting room they would send me a link to do registration but for some reason my phones service was not great in that building so I couldn't complete it then. After triage we were put in this row of curtain "rooms" where myself daughter and partner couldn't even fit into without bumping into the patients next to us like we were just heard of sheep. While eating to be released I was rudely handed a tablet with no explanation on what I was supposed to do with said tablet. Turns out this is how they wanted me to finish the registration process. The tablet kept freezing and refreshing the page and deleting all the info I had put in. I would try to get assistance and was just ignored by everyone. Not sure what happened to this hospital but it was all around a terrible experience with absolutely no help from anyone. You are a hospital where I trusted you all to help a panicked mom get through this with her daughter and was presented with nothing but rudeness.

Iā€™m basing this upon two ER visits at Ascension Via Christi St. Josephā€™s Hospital. One was due to severe abdominal pain. The wait took over two hours in several dirty, crowded, poorly ventilated waiting areas which included being seated next to an extremely sick man with COVID. Due to staff shortages, Instead of a MD or DO, a kind CRNP saw me. Nothing was prescribed to offset the pain. On my recent visit due to a heart attack, I collapsed in the lobby. When I came to my senses, I found myself disoriented and alone in ER room #2 for almost 30 minutes. There was NO call button. When the ER nurse came in I requested to see my husband. She asked why he wasnā€™t here with me! I said he was probably filling out paperwork. The second time I saw her about 20 minutes later, I reiterated I need to see him. Her response was why donā€™t I call him! I said hopefully he has my cell and purse because they werenā€™t with me. The third time, she seemed to act like she didnā€™t hear me. Some time later, I needed to use a restroom and cancel an important meeting. I removed my blood pressure cuff and finger monitor hoping someone would hear the beeps and waited ten minutes before unplugging the leads monitoring my heart. Still no one responded! So I left to find a restroom and found my husband seated nearby! The DO was kind and gave me several options including remaining for observation. This would have been my preference but since no one was monitoring the monitors I told him I preferred to recover at home.

This was my first experience with an emergency room visit in which I didnā€™t have to wait for hours to see someone. Everyone, from the front desk worker to the medical staff, was very professional, yet friendly and caring. The nurse even called a couple days after my visit to check up on me. The doctor was very informed with what was going on, and put me on exactly the right group of medications to get me better. Thank you so much!

Went in on 09/01/2022 because of 2 bites on the back of my arm that turned black overnight. The first 2 nurses didn't know what to tell me which was understandable and then they brought someone over to me to take a look he told me that it looks like something got on me I explained it did not look like this the night before he tells me to "give it a week and if it gets worse I need to see a dermatologist." I did not receive any treatment any antibiotics or anything from the Emergency Room and was sent home. The next morning I woke up and my entire arm down to the middle of my ribs from these black bites had broken out in a big red rash I immediately made an appointment with Grace Med Good Samaritan clinic at 3:15 09/02/2022 and immediately was told it was a bad infection spreading and was immediately put on antibiotics. I am wanting to talk to somebody from ascension via Christi immediately I am very unhappy that I received no treatment and this infection on my arm is spreading very rapidly and I hope you are not planning on sending me any bill for my visit on 09/01/2022 it will be fought. this is negligence at its best and I am very upset about this. I will get my report from grace med if needed. Please have somebody give me a call to talk about this as soon as possible. Thank you.

Sat 2 hours in a waiting room with a concussion, while constantly throwing up, and in pain. They then moved me into another waiting room for an hour, before they finally lead me to wait another 2 hours in the hallway instead of any of the unused rooms (which they didnā€™t use any of the rooms, just the hallway). All the nurses and other personnel sat in a circle drinking coffee and laughing loudly as Iā€™m crying in a chair with a bag full of vomit in my lap. They didnā€™t care for any of the patients and walked past us staring like we were the inconvenience. Thatā€™s rude and if you canā€™t care for people; choose a different career. In the end I only talked to a doctor for 3 minutes after my CT scan and all she did was confirm that I indeed had a concussion and needed rest. Im not mad at the doctor since she was clearly very busy and it seemed she was the only doctor in the building or at least the only one working. She was also the only person I saw not screwing around or just drinking coffee. So thank you to Josie for being decent. Also thank you to everyone else for a long and horrible night. šŸ‘šŸ»

The wait was a little long, but the nurses were nice. I had to return because what they were supposed to put in (my feeding tube) didn't work. It worked the second time, but only for a little bit. It, too, came out. We didn't go back and just figured out a way to keep it from falling out.

Totally understand this is a hospital and the wait times are extremely long. We have went two nights in a row and both times the nurses in the back were extremely rude. They were extremely rough with my child. They even told us we were probably going to be waiting 7 hours. The lady up front was extremely nice- and the people who got vitals were extremely nice.

This has been one of the best ER experiences for me, not that I make it a habit to go often šŸ˜…. I was very sick and needed immediate care, but I didnā€™t wait very long at all to be seen and was immediately given a room and admitted after the initial exam and tests. The staff were all very friendly, kind, and understanding. I recommend this hospital and ER for anyone seeking emergency medical care.
