It is free place to camp here. Huge open space, one or two fire rings for one row. Toilet house, and running water.. However, registration is required online at Southwest Florida Water Management District lands website. I would think during winter is okay to stop, register at the gate and spend night here. In cold February it was pretty open. Lot of RVs, they were running generators. Looking on the map, its trails 👣 and lake close by.

Beautiful FLA scenery. Huge campsites for dry camping. Dogs welcomed. Flush toilets, non-potable water, Camp Host on-site and no gate access code required; though reservations are mandatory. Peaceful. This place is so quiet and a throwback to old florida. Check out an off-leash dog park nearby. Then grab a fresh, delicious lunch (porch dinning) at Catfish Johnny's. This is the first dog-friendly trail that I've found so far. We will be back.

Made an on-site visit to Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area today. It is managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. An online reservation is required. Flat open boondocking is available here with picnic tables, fire ring, trash receptacles, flush toilet, and picnic pavilion. There is a campground host on-site. I’ll be boondocking here on future visits to the Sunshine State.

We drive by sometimes but never had stopped. It was really nice except for boat and trailer parking. That is actually across the street and looks like a real pain. You have to come in here..unload your boat..leave it go back out across traffic in a curve with everyone speeding...cross the street.park ...then walk back over...doesn't look fun or very practical. Especially if it's during one of our lovely summer storms and everyone tries to bail at the same time.

The camping host were very welcoming, and helpful. Lake panasakee wildlife management takes reservations online. It is clean and quiet with bathrooms and potable water. Generator use during set hours. Keep your camera handy because the wildlife is phenomenal.

The camp was well maintained, and the gentleman host was very nice. There are these huge ant hills that are intimidating if you are not a Florida native, but they were not loaded with ants. We just stepped around them. The bathrooms were clean and even had TP. We camped in the field next to the horse stalls. The wooded area will be my next spot. Lots of shady Oaks and also sun close enough to a camp table. Some spots had fire pits. We got the last one. I would stay again.

I haven't been here in a very long time and boy our riding party was extremely pleased with all the trails. We rode all over or as much as we could get to in 3 hrs on gaited horses. We did not camp but the camping area has been groomed and looked great too. A barn and a covered area with picnic tables if you had a large group. We will be back for sure

Gave it a short hike. Main gravel roads are the best; other Trails are deep sand. For me: it looks like off-road biking is the best option here.

Great camping but LOTS of ticks. Bring your tweezers! Nice hiking trail. Watch out for the snakes! Tried to walk to the lake. No success. Couldn't find a path. Oh, and the flies. So many flies biting me along the trail. Don't forget the DEET!

👍👍 The Swamp Adventure Tour was awesome! We had parents who were apprehensive about them going. I'm so glad they went. It was safe, and the captain was professional, funny and informative. We were able to touch and hold the alligator as a part of the package. The place also had cabins. We didn't stay t...
