Pandemic Gouging – Courtesy of IKEA Most retailers restricted from having in-store shopping this holiday season are grateful that customers would support their business by online shopping and curbside pickup. Some will even offer free delivery. But not IKEA. This predatory big box retailer tags on a $5.00 “delivery fee” to the invoice even when you pick up the item at the store. When contacted about this policy, they call it a service fee because they are a self-serve furniture store. What retailers are not self-serve? It’s a fee to cover the cost of processing your order and their employees’ time to pick the item from the floor and bring it to the door. And what else are IKEA employing doing these days? They’re not serving up Swedish meatballs. You would think they would be grateful for your business. You pay extra during these difficult times for the privilege of shopping from this corporate giant. No small retailer would be so arrogant or greedy to charge their customers for their loyalty and support. Please support your small independent retailers this holiday season – not the corporate Scrooges of this world.

Wonderful store, I found the perfect carpet to my room here. Now I'm happy because this carpet sets the style of the whole room and I can enjoy its beauty. There were also a lot of beautiful things in this store, but unfortunately I'm not rich enough to afford everything, but I'm working on it.

Love coming to Ikea to look around. Big and clean, wish we had an Ikea where I live. The cafeteria has a nice view. But there was a lady worker in the cafeteria who basically forced my mom to give her a good review on their pad. Unfortunately when we went a lot of the items we wanted were out of stock (maybe because of Covid?)

Went to Ikea today with my infant in a stroller. I was very happy with how easy it was to navigate with a baby. Really appreciated the comfortable baby care room (there's one on each level) where I stopped to feed and diaper my baby. Found some good items too! The only downside was that their cafeteria had a much smaller food selection than the website had led me to believe.

IKEA Winnipeg never fails to impress me. They are now offering takeout and have eliminated any single use plastics from this process. Inside the paper takeout bag were wooden cutlery and baby cardboard ramekins for the lingonberry sauce and gravy. Well done IKEA.

I Ordered a product on line.. paid for shipping. they sent the right product.. wrong colour! I phone customer service.. they said there’s nothing They can do about it.!! 😡 and told me can’t I just live with the colour they sent!! 🤬 Then I phone again and get someone else.. this time he apologized and said we’ll pick it up for you and bring back the right one. Nice I thanked him! It took them over a week to pick it up.. gave me a drop off date.. waiting another two weeks. I would have picked it up myself, but my car is too small. Anyway., My item is still on the dock waiting to be picked up by some unknown courier. Past the estimated drop off date.. Wow !! Still waiting for my frickin product!!! Wow !! Really IKEA?!! Not happy 😫!!!!

I love IKEA, most of our furniture is Ikea and me and the boyfriend went on a date to design a kitchen for our home. We ended up finding a bunch of beautiful ideas from the setups they had available. I've posted some pictures of what we found to show you some of those ideas.

Always love roaming around Ikea. It is therapeutic. The attention to detail that they put into each setup they create is beautiful. It's a visual overload just walking through and so much home decor inspiration everytime I'm there. And the food at the 2nd floor food court is amazing. Always have the meatballs. There was this one time that they had strawberry champagne cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake I've ever had. The cafeteria downstairs is very cheap. You should try the ice creams with ligonberry from there. Was just $1.5. They have a swedish brand called Almondy that sells gluten free almond cakes and they're exceptionally good. If you find the chocolate and caramel one, definitely get that. Swedish coffee is also very good so you should definitely consider picking up a bag of coffee when you're there the next time!

If you cared about your customers you would have heating lamps for the lineup outside. I have a baby and not everyone has alternate childcare. I encourage anyone who gets hypothermia on the ikea property to initiate a lawsuit. Also click and collect barely works.

I bought a lot of stuff here, including 2 chairs, and when I got home to check the items I found the cashier charged me for 4 chairs. In the end, I went to ikea again to apply for a refund. This was a waste of my time. I hope you can work hard.

Poor food in ikea restaurant, I have to say. Parking is easy and employees are kind. That's all. Probably, I will come back for my bed frame and something else.

Always love visiting Ikea. Such a cleverly displayed and organized store. So many great products, gift and home decor ideas. Helpful staff. Great restaurant with tasty food. Cozy seating. We ALWAYS end up buying something - even if it's just a bag of frozen Swedish meatballs.

Great variety bought a table here today for my living room, not the basic Ikea ones as I've owned many and out grown that style but a nice double tables with glass tops. Super excited to build them with my best friend. Also we hit up the cafeteria which is always fresh and delicious. I had the salmon salad , it was fresh but the crackers where stale from moisture in the dish itself no worries still quality proteins. Halibut and chips where also good for cafeteria quality. I recommend it all!

Not a classy move to charge for pick-up during lockdown. It's taking advantage of the situation when business should be thanking customers for continuing to keep them afloat. That's the issue with big box stores, they really don't care about you. Ikea stuff? Meh.

I’ve never had a worst experience at an IKEA anywhere else in the world. Staff refused to help me. At 6 months pregnant I had to load a heavy desk named *Alex*, all by myself into the car. It was fully built as I bought it from the sale section so you can imagine that this task was very difficult for a pregnant woman. When I asked for help at the cashier, i was Instructed twice (by two different workers) to go to the home delivery section. I went to home delivery section, asked for a light wrap and load into the car and a young middle eastern guy from home Delivery had a very mean attitude and said “this is out of our scope of things we do”. . Even after talking to his manager the manager, manager said “she was too busy to deal with this now”and another supervisor confirmed “sorry we don’t do certain things and this is not something we do” Absolutely terrible customer service..

Why does the website not work? Have tried multiple browsers as well as creating a shopping list instead of adding directly to the cart. I really wanted to order quite a few items but apparently this is not going to happen.

I don’t recommend using Click and Collect unless you bring someone who can help you load it. Silly me thinking that like every other store who has curbside pickup the staff would be loading these super heavy items into your vehicle

I placed an online order and they did not deliver it on time. They do not even contact customer about delays from their side. In my life, I have never seen such worst level customer service. I called 3 times to customer service and they say your order will be deliver in 48 hours and today it has been 120 hours.

I will get your steps in at this place! Full of unique stuff to help you organize any space, especially small spaces. You do have to be careful and inspect the product. Some stuff is great quality while others are not so good. Like anywhere, you do get what you pay for. But that said, there is enough selection that you should be able to find what you need at a decent price. The restaurant usually has good food as well. I am not a fan of the pop tho.

They don't provide any ETA of delivery of your product. After 2 and half weeks end up canceling my order because they still did not have any idea when the product would be delivered.

It's ikea. Flat packed chairs, tables, beds. Well, the mattresses are rolled tighter than Cheech knows how to but who's getting into specifics. Get some good "deals" at the as is section. Usually don't walk out of there empty handed. Oh and the meat (or veggie) balls 🤤 Your phone will be filled like my pictures on your way out.

Had lunch and was surprised they offer beer now. Got some steps in walking around their showroom, plus they have a charging station if you have an electric vehicle

Decent quality items, at affordable prices. Store is very large with a nice showroom/display area. Only reason for deducting 1 star is the sometimes lack of stock, and the every so often issue with fitment of the products (doesn't line up, have to make slight modifications). Still one of my go to stores for furniture.

When IKEA first came to Winnipeg I was excited for my clients to have a low cost option for their kitchens when needed. Since then I have done approximately 12 IKEA kitchens. Every single one has been a nightmare in regards to IKEA's customer service, availability and time needed to process a sale. All of which has been communicated to IKEA but seems to fall on deaf ears. They "lie" about product arrival times, "it will be here in two weeks" two weeks later, "oh, it won't be here for another two weeks" and so on and so on. I have also spent more than 8 hours in store on multiple occasions to pick up a kitchen even when I know their processes and how their software works. If you have lots of time on your hands and don't mind being without a finished kitchen for a long time, go ahead and shop there.

You will find all home related stuff on cheaper prices. Quality is good. I bought 2 futons and my friend bought bed from IKEA. Easy to install and yes don't forget to read manual because if you miss the step you will face difficulty. Otherwise all good.

We just stopped by to buy cutlery then had some ice creams and snacks. I am glad that they have table and chairs near the snack counter! My kids love the cafeteria too. One of the few options I can bring kids for shopping and lunch without worrying too much.

You can get stuff for cheap... That's about the only positive. I picked up a bed frame, but it was missing several big pieces that didn't have part numbers (which means you can't order them online, like you can with little screws), and their customer service is absolutely non-existent. No phone number for the store, only a 1-800 number on the website that has you pressing numbers for 5 minutes, only to finally put you on hold for 25 more.

Ikea have fake policy, 365 days return is a lie, if you change mind later even though within 1 years timeframe then don't give full refund, they ask you personal questions about why you return late. they make fun and joke about customer situation and make up their own stories. worst customer service of winnipeg Ikea store. They didn't even care to check the product. @ikeawinnipeg They even said on their wall, website, invoice that 365 days return policy.

What can I say, IKEA is IKEA. Generally I prefer to spend my time on our farm, I suppose if you want to go to a one-stop shop purchase your entire household. This would be the place to go. I've not walked into an IKEA for over a decade, and this was my first time and they want to pick store. As you can imagine it was a bit overwhelming, luckily I was there for one thing that I had seen online that I wanted for my children's bunk bed. No staff to be seen anywhere, however other customers were very helpful in giving me directions through the maze to find a checkout. To my pleasant surprise when I happened to mention that I was a beekeeper, someone suddenly said that they had been looking by the local raw honey and was wondering where to go. Fortunately I had one kilogram jar in my vehicle which is exactly what they were looking for. I left with my bunk bed accessory, and somebody else went home with exactly what they wanted : a jar of 100% pure raw clover honey from Yurkowski Family Farm 🐝

Friendly, helpful staff. Everything is where you expect it to be. Easy to find; the sign is so tall you can see it a mile away. Like any IKEA, it's not the best if you want to walk straight to the item you're looking for. Needs better shortcut signs.

Had an awesome experience shopping at Ikea. Big thanks to Asheem, from delivery department, he helped us a lot, because it was our first time ordering and we just couldn't deal with it by ourselves. Big order 90+ items was ready for collection in time.

  • 1/5 Fred P. 3 years ago on Google
I wish I could do a minus 5 stars. After saying delivery would be February 26th, my items never arrived. To make it worse, they were being delivered to my 94 year old mother, at her apartment. She was so worried about missing their delivery, she skipped her bath with her care taker, and waited all day to buzz them in. I never even received an email to say they would be late. They simply don't care when they deliver.

The staff are fantastic and helpful. The restaurant has a small menu but the food is great and affordable, especially for a larger family. Very kid friendly. The selection of items is huge obviously, since the place is bigger than a warehouse. My family and I enjoy eating, shopping and walking around the building. Best place to get ideas for renovations since their displays are spot on.

Due to provinical restrictions, waiting time could be long. Not IKEA’s fault. So if you are going in freezing cold, be prepared. Waiting time can be 1-2 hours.

Normally I'm happy with Ikea; this last trip, not so much. First I stopped to ask a worker where I could find something and she said "Maybe kitchen" so I asked if she could help me find it but was told "I'm busy with something else" and she walked away. Granted, she did look like she was shopping for a curbside pick up order, as did most staff I encountered. Either have staff on the floor who CAN help customers or take a moment to help someone! Then at the checkout... there was no sanitizing between customers. No attempt to clean touched surfaces nothing ... given the situation it wasn't very impressive. Good to know I'm much safer at the hairdresser! Oh right, I bought a box/bin which apparently was supposed to have a lid; I didn't need a lid so I didn't grab a lid. She told me I MUST have the lid or she couldn't sell it to me! Really, your forcing me to take something I don't need, just to put it into the landfill! Again .. totally not impressed with this last visit.

Had a terrible experience from Ikea Winnipeg branch. Karen, customer service manager (according to her), hung up the phone while I was complaining about their service. Never had nor heard nor seen any experience like this. Should not hang up the phone if she is a part of service related jobs. Can't believe she is the manager of the customer service with this kind of mind.

This is not a review based on who works there but more of a review for their in store systems and online customer service. My wife and I did a full kitchen renovation and used Ikea cabinets. Most items were in stock but the ones that were not took MONTHS to come in. Not only that, I was never notified but one of our main large cabinet pieces became discontinued and they never told us! It never came back in stock so we tried dealing with the Ikeas in other provinces to see if they can be shipped to us since that was the last pieces we needed. Unfortunately they are not helpful AT ALL in doing this and they all keep saying their system does not allow for anything like that. So we had to make-shift some other option for our large pantry cabinet because of the fact they cant ship store to store. They also would not allow shipping from other provinces to our home??? When I have dealt with in-store reps, it has always been fine and they do what they can. Their systems in store are EXTREMELY slow when you are dealing with large orders so trips for returns and pickups always took a very long time!

Do we ever need more of these stores My local one is a 5 hour drive so I never went to it didn't think it was worth the time and gas to do an 10 hour round trip. Now the fact I can do my whole kitchen for a ½ of the price of local cabinet shops still isn't enough to make me spend a whole day going to the store. Loved the store loved the prices. Went to this one in Winnipeg because it was right next to somewhere else I wanted to go. Come on Ikea expand a little please.
