Conveniently located just outside the train station, this small hotel offers clean rooms and an informative staff. We stayed with a large group, and the staff were very helpful in getting the reservation set and checking in when we arrived. They also offer a buffet breakfast included in the stay.

Hotel located near the main train station of Winterthur and quite nearby shops, restaurants, bakeries etc. Rooms are acceptable size and they have s grill restaurant on the ground floor.

Totally loved my stay here. From neat rooms to great ambiance and friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing. I highly recommend if in Winterthur.

the only reason I'm giving the rooms 2 stars and the hotel a 3 star is cause their website says Air Conditioning in all their rooms but in reality they don't have Air conditioning.. its jus an Air circulator (as told by front desk). I was staying in 212, and on my first day I requested the Air conditioning in my room to be checked and I was told by a young lad at the front desk that they don't have Air conditioning and I should jus leave the window open and turn down the heaters in the room!! owise this hotel is a travellers paradise with spacious and absolutely tidy rooms, it's bang opposite the railway station, you can literally jump across the fencing, it has Spar store next door so very Very convenient wrt to location

The decoration and atmosphere are quite too basic even the restrooms. But what we ask first for a hotel is to have cleaned room, good bed and size room, good breakfast. It was clearly the case. So 4 stars but one is missing for a charming stay. Good place for a short journey.

The noise levels are terrible. Past midnight now. Music blaring past midnight like a techno party. Can hear guests walking on the floor above. Impossible to sleep. Bed is slanted so you try to sleep at a tilt. It appears that the mattress is broken. After 6pm no one manning reception. This is not acceptable for a 3 star hotel.

The minute I entered the toilet, I saw hair in the sink and bathtub. There was hair on the bedding. The shower head made screaming noises because of the hose section being lose and water leaking from it. One of the towels had also stains. Probably old stains that don’t wash out but you still can’t put it there. I will stop here but basically it’s pretty dirty even if it looks Organizer well. The only benefit is the location..

Good hotel very near the Winterthur train station (at the higher numbered platforms). Quiet in spite of being close to the station when windows closed. Good buffet breakfast. Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff, clean and nice rooms. Would definately stay again. Note reception is not open late evenings, you need a key card to enter the hotel at night. Good WiFi.

I’ve been using the Wartmann for over 12 years and always loved it. However, my latest stay has now left me cold and I want to share this experience with you. I usually book the comfort single room, but based on the photograph of the executive room on their website, I decided to try it. Where I come from, this grade of room is usually a step above standard or superior. However I was utterly shocked to find room 112 was very old, the minibar door fell off the hinge when I opened it, I then stood on a screw on the floor which must have come off that door. I was also constantly disturbed by banging and crashing sounds from below until 2300, I assume this is the kitchen or restaurant one floor below. As the hotel isn’t manned at night, I could only email the owner to ask for help changing rooms, and I was happy to pay too. I didn’t receive a reply until 1200 the following day, and as I left early in disgust at the level of room I had, there was nobody at reception to complain to (unstaffed until 0900). The hotel’s reply said I was given the last executive room available, and that this was in the older part of the hotel. Well thanks a lot for NOT indicating anything about this on your website, or for at least having the decency to advise me in advance that my room would be of lower quality to the website images. I sent another reply to them venting my anger, and that I would have happily paid to move, but they chose not to reply again. As I said at the start, I have been a faithful customer to this hotel for many years, but following this stay, and the lack of follow on support I received - I will not be returning.

Cleanliness, staff, location all 5*. But no AC in one of our rooms (we got 2 rooms) and we got a fan only last 2 nights out of our 5 night stay. We had a payment issue as well. Also, Winterthur town is a bit far from Luzern, Interlaken areas especially if you plan to visit those places often. The train ride unnecessarily adds 30+ mins to every trip.

Rooms are clean and tidy. This is best location I have ever seen closed to train station and city center. Have very nice breakfast and all day coffee servis are the advantages

Nice little hotel right next to the train station short train ride away from Zurich Airport and places like Rhein fall, Stein Am Rhein, and St Gallen. Triple room was spacious and clean, breakfast is fantastic, and price is very reasonable. Appreciate the hotel letting us check in early after a long haul flight.

Right next to Winterthur railway station, a tasty breakfast spread, a nice steakhouse restaurant and 2 hybrid bicycles. Rooms are sufficiently spacious. Front office execs are very helpful.

I like the location more than anything as It is on Just beside the Train station, it's just like changing the platform in station from Platform 9 to go to hotel. Water, tea, coffee are available 24/7 in cafeteria, and also one can have a fruit (on reception desk). Had nice breakfast with fruit juice, water melon, variety of breads, jam, honey, boiled egg, coffee and a big Banana. (Non veg options also available) You can find couple of Asian restaurants in walkable distance for lunch and dinner. Rooms are neat clean, stayed one day only. Will stay more next time to write more here

We recently stayed at this hotel for 6 nights on vacation. Although not in central Zurich, it was easily accessible (about 20 minutes) by train. In fact, we used the trains as our mode of transportation mostly and this hotel is just across the street in perfect location. There are many restaurants and shopping nearby within 3 to 5 minutes walk, as well as a small local grocery next door. The daily breakfast was included and they were excellent - various types of breads pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, diff types of yogurt, fruits, and much more. Water, punch, coffee, tea were also available all day in the front lobby. Staff - excellent! Very helpful and friendly from start to finish. Every time we needed something (directions, recommendations, etc.), they were always pleasant to deal with. Most importantly, the hotel rooms and general area were impeccably clean. The showers and water pressure were excellent. Our room was spacious and was above our expectations. They even provided slippers for use in the room. Our room was across the street directly to the trains but when the windows were closed, we didn't hear anything. We slept well every night. Excellent stay overall and highly recommended.

Lovely 3 star hotel in the heart of Winterthur. Friendly reception. My room was towards the garden with a nice view and very calm. Just by the station and in 20min at the Airport of Zurich by train. The room was tidy and spacious. Has a kettle with tea and coffee in the room plus little fridge. The breakfast was lovely with cheese, eggs etc. The bed was comfy . Many restaurants nearby especially around the corner a lovely Thai restaurant.

Really surprising. Great rooms. Bikes free to use. Excellent breakfast.Oranges to make fresh orange juice. Sausage, bacon and eggs. Lots of breads, toaster. Great choice of tea and coffee. Outstanding for the price

A Solid 4 location is perfect, across train Station easyJet to reach. Sometimes you'll hear the horn of some trains but in my eys no problem. Rooms are clean and large enough. Beds are cosy. Breakfast is good with a enough different kinds of food typically international. Service Personal are very friendly and check was fast and easy.
