Good old-fashioned country pub with great pub grub, anything from bangers and mash to cottage pie to steak and chips. Great value for money, worth a stop on the road to Wrexham!

First class, as always. Great to have our 'local' back 🙂👌 Couldn't fault the food we've had, nor the service tbh. Spot on whether you're dining or just nipping in for a drink. Water provided for my dog without having to ask, too..... which for me, says a lot about someone/somewhere's attitude in general.

My hubby had his 60th birthday bash here last Saturday and the buffet was beautiful, all fresh and plenty of it, staff were helpful and friendly and looked after us, a brilliant night!

Excellent food and very reasonable price. As my partner is gluten intolerant the chef (Paul) came to our table and explained what he could do. Very much appreciated. Will definitely be back.

What’s not to love! Food and service is always incredible, definitely recommend the 3 small plates for £12, the buffalo chicken bites are amazing, great variety of dishes for everybody on the main menu wether it’s good old pub grub, vegetarian, vegan or Gluten intolerant food they’ve got it all which you don’t find so easily in many places!! Staff are always lovely and very friendly, majority of it is all bar service instead of table service but they are very efficient even in the busy periods. Have had countless good times here, the Sunday roasts are also fantastic, plentiful and good value for money. Always an absolute pleasure to visit. Well done Team Cunliffe, keep up the good work.

Came here for a Sunday lunch. I did call to book and had a table in the bar. Nice and spacious and tables nice and clean. Ordered at the bar and had a good deal for two courses. Carvery was the only option on this day for adults. Not sure if that's always on a Sunday. My child had a fish finger meal. We did have to wait to be called table by table. Which I've never done for a carvery before. Maybe helps to keep queue down. Carvery was nice and it was served by the staff. Not self service. It was nice and we all ate our meals. I would like to come again and try other meals in the week maybe and see what they are like.

We had family in town who had spent the whole day travelling and were very tired and hungry, and we ended up at the Cunliffe Arms after being turned away by two other pubs (Bank holiday Monday, we didn't realise we'd struggle to find pubs still serving food after 7pm!) It ended up being a brilliant evening, the staff were lovely and didn't begrudge us turning up just as they were about to shut the kitchen. The food was great, and there was a lovely atmosphere. They are dog-friendly, we just had to sit in a separate section. Sometimes the dog-friendly section of a pub is very cramped but we had plenty of room for 11 people and a dog snoozing under the table.

Had a scrumptious carvery on Mother's Day, and I only booked the table 2 days beforehand! I was so lucky and my mum was very surprised on the Saturday as she didn't know I was travelling up from Devon... 🥰

Nice looking pub. We went on a Sunday for a carvery while on holiday. Friendly staff. Meat was nice but everything else was not up to par I'm afraid. Veg was tasteless and old deep fried roast potatoes is really not my thing sorry. The desserts are incredible though 🤤

Food was lovely. Pub could do with a re-fit. Its a bit dated !!. Service was good though and food was hot and plentiful. There is a playground outside but all fenced off. Such a shame !!.

Attended for funeral wake. We were in side room but had to go through 2 dining areas to get to it. The buffet and hot drinks were laid out at side of main dining area. Staff not particularly helpful when approached. Food was nice but we didn't feel very welcome.

I don't remember signing in for covid contact and trace. Otherwise it was quiet, peaceful and clean. We had wondered how the woukd be since it didn't look like people went there much, there was hardly anyone and thought we would be eating recycled food but it was nice and fresh. The service was prompt and courteous and of course Acton Park is not too far to enjoy a stroll round the lake which has lots if birds and some wild life.

A family birthday Carvery for 20 was well catered for on a very busy Easter Sunday. Lovely staff, excellent food in all three courses but the Carvery itself was outstanding for choice and quantity (including delicious Vegan options). Drinks were reasonably priced, too. Everyone said they'd love to go again. Thank you to Paul, family and staff.
