Cafe Herzog

Bar

😠 Constantly changing waiters: overwhelmed and not competent. But who is surprised if the boss pays €6 an hour? But if you allow it, it's your own fault. Everyone who goes there supports the fact that the waiters work black and below minimum wage. Personally, I will never go there again.

Unbelievable unfriendly waiter, the black waitress with long tresses. We made more than 150 euros bill, one of us politely asked to replace a freddo espresso coffee, the waiter and the boss were extremelly rude. Also the place does not provide receipts. The toilets are a total mess too especially now with covid19. The personel does not follow the hygiene directives. I will never visit that place again.

Amazing cafe bar in the heart of Elbeferd. You have to try the frappè or the Freddo cappuccino while taking a break from the shopping.Very friendly service and the outdoor sitting area is perfect for people watching.Relax and enjoy!

At Café Herzog you have found a wonderful place in Wuppertal to drink your cocktail. The cocktails are really good and well mixed too. In summer you can sit outside in the large space, but if the weather is bad you can find a comfortable place inside. We always enjoy coming back. P. S. The cocktails to go are also recommended

I have never experienced anything so rude in the restaurant! Yesterday I ordered two espressos to-go with my companion at Cafe Herzog - my companion was asked for sugar for his espresso, which I didn't notice (I wasn't asked). The bartender then naturally poured the sugar into both espressos himself (which would have been ok). When I noticed it with the first sip, I just politely asked for a new espresso without sugar because I wouldn't like it that way. NOW COMES THE ABSOLUTE NO-GO!!!! - The bartender reacted extremely rudely to my request and asked me why I would behave like that and that you have to drink it with sugar anyway, and that they were under stress and THE CUSTOMERS HAD TO BE CAREFUL and it wasn't his fault. As if that wasn't enough, he didn't want to accept my €10 note because it had a 1cm tear on the long side and "the machine probably wouldn't accept it, like I did the espresso" - absolute harassment. I stood in front of the counter, stunned, and could hardly believe what I was being accused of as a CUSTOMER about a new espresso. Even guests who had to witness the whole spectacle could only shake their heads. I realize that one person doesn't make up the whole store. However, if you read the reviews, you can see that it was not an isolated case and that the assessments vary widely, which seems questionable to me personally. Conclusion: As a potential guest, I would think three times about stopping there.

The waitresses have always been friendly so far, the last one was perhaps a bit awkward but everything was still acceptable. We ordered cocktails to take away and were then told to clear the seats straight away... that didn't have to be the case, but you can still cope with that. So far the drinks are always well filled with alcohol so in the end you don't save money. A good place to get drunk!
