Sitting seems to need to be booked unless you are a regular and we were chased when trying to sit down. The bar seats were taken by regular customers not giving a particularly friendly vibe whilst we waited patiently to get service. Might give them another check before we leave Wurzburg surely we arrived at a bad time and they can do better?

My mom and I recently visited Würzburg for the second time and wanted recommendations from the locals. Our tour guide told us about this hidden gem and I am so glad he did. My baba was German and made some deliciously authentic food, and this to me, this tasted just like her food. We shared the sausage appetizer which was huge. It came with a few sausages and a big pretzel with authentic German mustard. I order the spaetzle and it was SOO good. The cheese strung off each noodle and the sauce was creamy and rich. There had to have been at least 4 cups worth; it was truly massive. The fried onions on top added a nice crunchy texture. It came was a side salad that was the size of a full sized plate. The amount of food you got for the price point was amazing. My mom ordered the Wienerschnitzel which came with a pretzel. The schnitzel was smoking hot and tasty. We also ordered German wine to go with our meal which was a nice change. We would absolutely return here in a heartbeat.

I had a disappointing experience at the bar. The service was quite poor, with slow responses and inattentive staff. To make matters worse, when I asked for the check, it was extremely vague, lacking any details about the items I had ordered. This lack of transparency left a sour taste and I hope they can improve their service and billing process in the future.
