Tried the gluten free pizza crust. Hands down the best I've tried so far!

We were in Yarmouth visiting my brother and thought we would try Jake's Family Restaurant as we always try to support the smaller businesses when possible. The staff was super helpful, friendly and nice which is why I am giving this a 2 star instead of a 1 star. Please note this review is based on the food taste, flavour and quality of what I had which was a chicken shawarma salad. Please note that I do not like leaving poor reviews but I need to be honest about my experience. Also please keep in mind that I am comparing this to authentic Lebenese food and quite honestly this should not be called Lebanese food as authentic shawarma is tender, juicy and bursting with flavour. The chicken was dry, and did not taste fresh. I think I ate about a 1/3 of the plate (forcefully) as I really do not like wasting food but I just couldn't eat any more even though I was hungry. I also felt the dish was way overpriced for what I got. I paid over $20 for a large salad and a bottle of water that I could barely eat, when in Halifax I can get a full authentic chicken shawarma plate for $11.99 + tax that includes freshly made lentel rice, chicken, tabboulie, toum, hummus, pickles and a whole pita. I am not sure about the other food they serve as it very well could be good, and I would assume they must serve decent food as this place seemed to be fairly busy but I certainly will not recommend the Shawarma salad. The staff on the other hand were very helpful and really tried to accomodate my diet which I did really appreciate.

Beautiful place with the most incredible staff. Best panzerottis I’ve had in my life and that is saying something. I have travelled to New York, Toronto, Vancouver and parts Europe. A MUST TRY!!!!!

I love this family owned, super friendly little place. I enjoyed their rice bowl with falafel. It also has pickled turnips which adds a wonderful tanginess. After I was stuffed from my meal, I spoke to one of the owners and asked about a local food called Donair. She asked me if I would like to try it and then gave me a plate piled with thinly shaved meat, which is similar to gyro, and served with a white sauce. I was already full from my bowl but the meat was so delicious I ate it all with no regrets. Thank you Lisa. I only wish I had time to eat there again.

We just called up restaurant and this came up. The food was very good, my husband had the burger, OMGOONESS big is the word. I had the clams and chips, clams were good some were not cooked, fry were greasy. We will come back.

Warm friendly staff. Big menu with something for everyone. Food came out fast and hot and was all yummy!

Friendly staff when I phoned in the order. Order was ready when I picked it up. Again, everyone there was friendly. Place looks clean and tidy and you can watch them preparing the orders.

I ordered online, the food came under the estimated time! The burger and poutine were hot and fresh, the delivery guy was wholesome and kind, I definitely will be ordering again soon!

I come home every year, and this is my first stop every time. I always get the donair panzerotti, and Joey loads the meat on for me. I have never had bad food from his establishment, and he is always happy to see you and talk even if it is only for a minute or two from the time you walk in to the time u leave u are treated like family.

A family restaurant on the traditional model. Entirely unpretentious with Formica tables and a high bar. You order and pay for your food at the counter and it's brought to your table. The food is delicious and includes both Canadian and Middle Eastern fare.

Had a small falafel wrap and it was tasty and filling. Friendly and clean diner. What pulled us in was the rappie pie and my partner loved it ❤️

My family and I travel to Yarmouth about once a year and every time we make a stop at Jakes and it never disappoints. Service and food are incredible, also a kid friendly place. Highly recommended you visit.

We were disappointed to discover that the town of Yarmouth had few open and or worthwhile restaurants. Jake's fills the gap as a sort of deli with a hot kitchen for things like pizza and hot sandwiches. Was not impressed with the food nor the speed of the food prep. Staff was very friendly kind but seemed slammed due to there just not being enough decent places to eat in town.

Excellent service, very friendly staff, food was excellent quality with a large variety to choose from. The donair meat is the best around. The pizza slices are huge!!! Well worth the money. Lots of vegan options and some Gluten sensitive options as well.

This place will accommodate any style of eating. I was not eating gluten so I asked for no bun on my burger. They say no problem, always yummy and you cannot beat their prices!

My partner and I showed up at 11am on a weekday, travelling from northern Ontario for the past 9 days throughout the maritimes, with no luck whatsoever to getting breakfast between 11am-12pm. We were hoping to have a traditional breakfast. We were initially told that breakfast had not been served here for quite some time due to staff shortage, but the cook was more than willing to prepare one for us. It was heavenly! Thank you for catering to your customers and not staying focused on routine day to day “should be’s”. Wishing you all the best and hopefully extending your hours of operation to further serve customers/tourists. Prices were beyond within reason. Highly recommend

Love the homemade freshness of the food. Delicious and filling. Have to share the burger because it's so big. It definitely is a homemade patty. I recommend it to everyone. There's different variety of meal ideas.

It was a layed back environment but spacious and clean nice staff that work hard and also wanna make sure they dont get your order wrong and the food is always atleast an 8 out of 10 for my opinion

Cold food definitely not worth the money and bad service. I will never go there again. Way over price for what you get

Only order the J Burger if you are extremely hungry! It's huge! Great staff. Kids loved the large Panzerotti!

Food was so good and the people who work there are really nice. I will definitely go back when I visit Yarmouth again!!

We had a delicious meal at Jake's while on vacation...and the young man working the counter was awesome! We had the Chicken Shawarma platter, the Chicken Souvlaki platter and falafel.

We were at the car show so it was very busy when we arrived. Service was fast, lunch special was cheap and it was delicious. We had the specialty slice and Caesar salad for $6.95. Staff were polite and friendly. I think it's a place where everybody knows your name. We were very happy with our experience and will definitely be back again.

I was in town for the car show and looking for a snack. The pizza from this place was really good. All the toppings were in perfect proportions and as fresh as I could have hoped for. The sauce was also very good. I'll eat here again anytime and try other options but the Pizza was first rate. I also had it delivered and the person told me a 45 minute to one hour wait. It showed up in 20 minutes. Keep it up Jake's!!! You made a lifetime customer out of me!
