The monastery has a lot of history; it dates back to the 14th century. Unfortunately, only the Gate Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands from 1696 in the Naryshkin Baroque style and several dozen tombstones have reached us. Calm, quiet, beautiful, well-groomed area.

Convent of Immaculate Conception founded in 1360 by Metropolitan Alexey of Kiev, Moscow and All Russia (1292-1378). Convent badly suffered during the Great Fire in XVI century and was reestablished in 1584. Convent was looted by communists in 1922.Communists closed the convent in 1927. Some buildings and churches were demolished in 1934. Convent was reestablished by Russian Orthodox Church again in 1991 and its churches and buildings were restored in 2008-2010. A quiet place in the heart of Moscow old downtown. Thoroughly rebuilt in 2000 to replace the original Gothic-revival structure that was demolished in 1930.
