Taste is just ordinary, nothing special. The gravy is very clear since it is lack in chicken stock yet less spices and aromatics, call it under seasoning. The meat is only few pieces too, there is no additional topping. They don't show the price list, it's such a deceit for customers. Pricing is above averages, especially the beverages. Besides, the staffs are responsive and proper parking lot. The place is too crowded but kinda unique- yet creepy. In conclusion, it is okay to try but still, don't expect too much. Definitely not going to repurchase

An idol and favorite place that is always on the list on several travel lists. A unique place to eat with local culture, the building is made all tilted. the food is quite delicious, Bakmi Jawa the most favorite, sometimes the taste under seasoning. Traditional drinks, wedang uwuh and tea pots are perfect for ordering in a Jogja atmosphere.

Prefered the Fried one (Bakmie Goreng) over the Boiled one (Bakmie Godhoj). Though the Fried one still came ‘wet’ (nyemek). Tasted good but actually not into my taste, as I prefere a more dry-version of fried noodles. We are kind of lucky fo visit while the place empty. Last year we visited during heavy peak hour (dinner around 7-8pm) and have to wait to be seated. Service was very good, place quite spacious. I do recommend should you like to eat in an instagrammable and traditional place like this, including a wet-version of javanese fried noodle.

The place boasts a historical ambiance, adorned with rustic wooden pillars and barriers, complemented by wooden chairs and tables. The room is adorned with numerous ornaments, adding to its charm. As for the food, it's decent but somewhat limited in variety, primarily focusing on fried and boiled noodles, fried rice, and rica-rica chicken. However, it's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side. One aspect that could use improvement is the service. While the stated closing time is 10:00 PM with the last order accepted until 9:30 PM, it's worth mentioning that staff started dimming the lights, clearing plates, and moving around from 9:30 PM onwards. This can make customers feel somewhat uncomfortable and gives the impression that they are subtly encouraging customers to leave.

Touristic warung Jowo, unique indoor decoration. Woody theme, it was cow stable turn to restaurant. Dim nuance, having a stale, moldy. There are staf stand in the front , ask us to wash hand before entering the place. The taste itself was not suit to my palate. There are no bee hoon on the menu, you need to asked to the waiter.

Really like eating here. When I go to Jogja, I always eat here. The taste is quite good but the interior decoration is very interesting. I prefer mi goreng to mi godog.

I thought, at first, it could be overrated for me but it turned out that this was a very comforting food. Everything was great, I ordered the ‘nyemek’ one and my husband got the fried one and maaannn the fried one was better than expected, it was flavorful as the sweet-salt-sour play their own roles in one dish. The place was comfortable with wooden interiors, the service and staff were nothing to complain about, but the meals were a bit overpriced and it was hard to park for cars, so you have to park across the street. Keep up the good work!

Great food and an interesting restaurant! The whole place is made with wood and it feels authentic as soon as you walk through the door. Service was fine, no problems for us. We ordered Mie Rebus and Mie Goreng. They use different parts of the chicken, like skin, liver and the bone too. It also has egg. Personally I don’t like to eat chicken liver. Next time I go I will order without chicken, I’m sure it will taste good because they had very good seasoning. Good experience and I would take friends with me next time!

This place is a bit far from Malioboro, and it's tucked away in a corner. There isn't much parking space for cars. I ordered Bakmi Godog, and I found the flavor to be just okay. The place was crowded, and the interior theme was predominantly bamboo-filled.

Enak. The taste of the food is quite good. The gravy is savory. The noodles are chewy. Shredded chicken completes every bite of Bakmi Mbah Gito. They have a unique concept and quite interesting for local or foreign tourists. Each pillar of this restaurant is made of wood and there is an engraving of the face of the presidents of the Republic of Indonesia.

This was really not to our taste. We generally had great food during the 7 days in Yogyakarta but this was absolutely terrible. The place itself was really special - fully built with wood. The fried noodles (mi goreng) were just ok & a little soggy while the noodle soup (mee rebus) was tasteless. The mixed veg (capcay goreng) had the exact same ingredients as the noodles (egg, veg, beef etc). The worst dish was the chicken parts stew (rica ayam) which comprised of wings, neck, carcasses etc. It looked completely unappealing & tasted sweet & sour. We are chinese & love chicken parts including feet but this was so badly prepared! Everything was so roughly prepared & without care. Maybe this was a traditional Indonesian style but we really did not like this.

It's a new experience to eat at a restaurant with a natural wood concept. They have a unique concept and quite interesting for local or foreign tourists. Each pillar of this restaurant is made of wood and there is an engraving of the face of the president of the Republic of Indonesia. The taste of the food is quite good for me but it will not be used as a culinary list when visiting Yogyakarta.

Very interesting place with all-wood veneer and interior. 🪵🪵 Food was OK, I can definitely understand coming here just for the vibe though. Service was slow (this place is usually very busy), so, to be honest I could see how you can pass this place for a visit in Jogja given price and quality of food. Definitely agree with the 'soggy noodles' sentiment from other reviews. If you don't like this, I'd probably pass up. 🍜 There are many other places that are same or better, look up on Google Maps. Overall, Bakmi Gito is good, though. Would averagely recommend. 👍

Unique design for restaurant, legend and taste good, for the price of bakmie around 30k++ it’s little expensive but worth it, my recommended menu is bakmie kuah and teh poci.

This is also one of the must visit place when you're in jogja. This place is so legendary the government gave them a medal for being one of the tourist spot that promotes their culture. And theyre not wrong, the noodles are so good and cheap, it is so simple it's good. And the vibe itself also very jogja with the woods interior. Honestly i can eat two portions at one go since it is just so yummy

We ordered mie goreng nyemek and its nicely done. If its a spaghetti it will be Al dente. So kudos to the team. The service is very kind too and the place is photogenic. The decor is quite weird but pleasant at the same time.

Lovely treehouse style type of look, wood everywhere and a unique interior where there were little corners here and there, and also a general sitting place. I loved the fried rice here! And of course their famous mee rebus! Definitely one of the better foodie stops here while touring in jogja. Even their President Jokowi came by and there’s a carving inscription to commemorate his visit - what an honour it must have been for any F&B establishment. We came early at 445pm and thank goodness we did! By 530pm onwards, this place was packed and queues were forming outside the joint. So you have been warned!

Well known place among local and tourist. Their unique value is their out of the box design (from wood and other traditional material).

An overatted place to dine in Jogja. At first, I was curious to taste the fried rice and their traditional bakmi jawa, also their rica-rica ayam. Fried rice is too bland and so so. Also their bakmi jawa, is not that special. Rica-rica ayam is better than their fried rice and bakmi jawa. They sold their menu with pricey price. Maybe they sold the vibes of the place, which is authentic, classic, traditional Jogja. Always packed with visitors, mostly local tourists. You need to be patient in here because they serve freshly made menu which made by order. As for me, it's worth to visit once only to satisfy my curiousity.

the taste of the food is good enough, not the best that i have ever taste. the nuance of the place is good, feels like im visiting my grandmas house. this is one of the famous bakmi jawa in jogja, i think people visiting this place is because it’s a big brand ya. overall nice experience

Today i'm here, and the taste was totally different than my last experience. I was dissapointed. My husband ordered mie kuah and i ordered mie goreng, both of them aren't delicious. The noodle is very hard like aldente in pasta, made herbs didn't involve. Javanese say: hambar.

Amazing food in an incredible building. Noodles are so fresh and service is great. Can ask for meat dishes to be made vegetarian instead.

Fantastic local cuisine! Traditional themed noodle shop! We ordered fried rice, ‘bakmi goreng’, ‘bakmi rebus’, ‘chap chay’, ginger milk and hot tea pot. They are very kind to allow us to bring a pizza for our children who are not good in eating peppery and local food.

The restaurant is very unique, very cozy and good for eating with friends and families. The food is pretty good too. And we are very lucky to be able to meet mbah Gito in person too. Some times it is difficult to find space to park and we have to wait a long que during the peak hours

Very authentic Bakmi Jowo Restaurant in Jogja, specially the atmosphere is unique. You may need to wait for awhile to get the seat, mostly on public holiday. Best recommend dishes are Bakmi Godok or Nasi Goreng. Toilet available inside the resto, parking area available surrounding resto, if you looking for musholla, available masjid behind the resto. You should try, or you will regret it 😊.

a bit disappointed.. last time I get here before pandemic.. the noodles were delicious. my friend and I ordered 3 menu for two of us and we loved the food (mi goreng, mi godog, magelangan mawut). we love the smoky touch of the noodles.. today I ordered mi goreng and mi godog, sadly magelangan is no longer served (even not listed in the menu). the mi godog is bland.. I need to add cuts of chili into my food to add some taste. mi goreng is okay but I cannot find the interesting smoky flavor, so sad..

  • 3/5 Dinna R. 1 year ago on Google
Three stars may seem harsh, but the only thing this place offers is the uniqueness of the atmosphere. The “bakmi godog” is utterly plain and they don’t offer any condiment except some green chilis that I have to slice using my spoon to add some ‘semblance of taste. Any sambal would have been a huge improvement, even ketchup (chili sauce as the locals call it). On top of it, it was grossly overpriced. We have a much better option in my town with only a third of the price. So yeah, if you’re curious, please go for the sake of the experience, but don’t let your expectations run high.

Definitely new destination in yogya culinary. I tried bakmi goreng jawa (javanese fried noodle) it was a well balance of savory and sweet. Recommended, you should try it!! Expect long waiting if you come here at peak hours, especially during holiday. It took around 40 menit of waiting time.

  • 3/5 Adhitya R. 2 years ago on Google
well-known place to eat javanese dishes like bakmi godog/goreng, nasi goreng among local tourists. it's pricey and the taste is just so so.

The taste of the noodle soup is average. The tea is okay. The vibe is classic. Fast and friendly service. Can't smoke inside the building. Easy access parking. Near the city. Prices for the Jogja area are quite expensive for ordinary taste.

This place were so amazing, authentic, vintage style, feels like dining at the "traditional village", ambient, event the waiters were using a batik. They have affordable price for foods and drinks, great taste, big area, cozy place.. If you were a tourist, i trully reccomend this place for you to eat and take your best "self picture" here.. i never seen place like this before ..
