Our family enjoy staying at Great George when in Charlottetown . The team are friendly 👨🏻‍💼 and provide great service. The cookies 🍪 are great, as well as breakfast 🥞 . The lounge 🛋 and dining 🍽 area in the main hall are fun. They have even served complimentary cider in the winter. 🌲 Great location also, very close to the great restaurants in The City, as well as the waterfront. Thanks Great George! 🦃

What a beautiful hotel! The Victorian style gives so much personality. On top of that the decors are full of beautiful antiques. And I am speaking about the reception area. Our room, was one block away, in a condo. So our room was actually a condo suite. It has two bedrooms, one kitchen, one living room, one dinning room, one powder room, and one master bathroom with a huge bathtub plus plenty of closet spaces. Our beds were so comfortable. Everything was so nice and fluffy. The service is absolutely a delight. In the reception area, every day at 3 pm, they serve fresh baked cookies. At 5 pm (Monday to Friday), they offer wine or beer(1st drink no charge) and every morning, breakfast is served too. The quality of the food fresh and delicious. I am not sure how are the rest of the hotels in Charlottetown, but I fell in love The Great George.

Only stayed one night here but it was such a lovely stay! The building itself was beautiful, was lucky to snag a freshly baked cookie when we checked in - delicious. Rooms were clean, spacious and the bathroom had a heated floor which was an excellent touch. Very kind staff. Breakfast was included and amazing. They even had a gluten free section which is incredibly thoughtful. Close to downtown Charlottetown- everything is walkable which was nice given our short stay!

Boutique hotel without room service with beautiful apartments spread over a few blocks. The lobby has signed pictures of a lot of celebrities who have stayed there. We stayed in a spacious two bedroom suite located about a block away from the main building. It had a full kitchen two and a half baths and two bedrooms. Very close to Queen Street. The breakfast is excellent and was included in the price of the room. Would recommend this place overall. The picture is of the cathedral located right across the main entrance.

My husband and I had an incredible experience at the Great George! We honeymooned in Atlantic Canada, and the Great George was definitely our favorite stay of the entire trip. Our room was beautifully designed, and we loved the stained glass details. The Great George is composed of buildings painted in different colors, which has a very charming effect. The staff was very helpful, and they also left us a wonderful gift basket in our room. While we were there, the hotel had several promotions, so we received a gift card for restaurants owned by the same group. The Great George goes above and beyond in making its guests comfortable. There is free parking, and there are bikes and umbrellas to borrow. The hotel also provided two walking loops of different distances. We walked the 5km loop twice, which goes to the gardens and back, and it was a lovely way of seeing Charlottetown! The breakfast buffet was delicious. Since breakfast is in the lobby, there is limited seating, which means guests should either try to arrive earlier to pick their own seating or be ready to converse with some other travelers. We also loved the Great George's lobby! There are many comfortable armchairs and couches, and we spent a lot of playing the board games set out on the tables. The next time we are in PEI, we will definitely be staying at the Great George again!

I had a great stay here while I was at a conference. The room was very clean. I did have one door that wouldn't shut in the room (the cupboard my mini fridge was in) and the mini fridge was not working when I checked in. I removed one star for that. However, the mini fridge was fixed right away. The door was not fixed. Not a super big deal. The staff was very kind and willing to help out whenever needed. However, it does appear that the staff is having a hard time finding out where the rooms are. When I first checked in I was taken to the wrong room. When I was checking out and ask for help with my bags it took 30 minutes to get someone to come and help because they couldn't find my room. Perhaps they've had some changes recently. Again, not a super big deal but one worth improving on. The location was excellent. It was close to the water and lots of restaurants. The breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. They also had free cookies and pop. The staff was very knowledgeable about what was available in the area. I also utilized their greener is cleaner initiative which is when they don't clean your room that day but instead offer you a $20 gift card to a restaurant in the area. Overall I would definitely come back again.

I don’t think I have enough words to share how fantastic our stay at The Great George was. We stayed in the main building, and it was wonderful! The main floor is gorgeous and we spent many hours talking and reading there, the location of the hotel is perfect for exploring downtown Charlottetown, and the included breakfast is delicious! Make sure you get some of the overnight oats. But what really sets The Great George apart is the amazing staff. They were incredibly helpful, very kind, and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. When we experienced a family emergency near the end of our trip, every member of staff checked in with us and offered their assistance wherever they could. I can’t say enough good things about the hotel or the people working there, and I can’t wait to return! Also, the cookies are amazing! :)

( thanks Rabab, Aleena, Erik’s, Cecilia and Matthew) Thanks for another memorable stay !!!

Stayed here because of work. Wonderful rooms and service. Too expensive for me personally. But given the option, it would be the first choice

We were in the center of the restaurants and walking distance down to the water. This was great as I had someone with me that could not walk far distances. We were pleasantly surprised by our cottage when we arrived. Being a full house! The lobby was gorgeous, making you feel like you’ve gone back in time. The morning breakfast included, fresh hot quiche, and blueberry turnovers that were the best I’ve ever had! The stuff at the front desk were warm, inviting, professional, and kind. Our only regret is that we did not stay here longer!

We had a very modern attractive room in one of the renovated houses on the property. It was quite a contrast with the dark Victorian lobby in the main building. We found breakfast uncomfortable and awkward there so we went out to a terrific nearby coffee spot. Parking is free but limited but we were able to find an available space each day we were there. Location was central and the price was reasonable. They do not have a restaurant but there are many in the area.

Noisy, cold, poor service and not deserving of 4.5 stars! For a boutique hotel our room was underwhelming with dated furniture and awful art. The bathroom was basic. We were supplied with Keurig style machine but only two coffee pods. No tea or hot chocolate . No cookies. Our ground floor corner room was incredibly noisy especially between 2:00am & 4:30am. Secondary glazing might help with this. On night two the temperature dropped and despite it being minus 2 we had no heating! I would not choose to stay here again.

Absolutely the highlight of our East Coast holiday ! Beautifully maintained facility staffed by personable , engaging professionals. The location is great for walking Charlottetown. We would love to return again for a longer stay. Thanks for the experience !

Seeing all the amazing reviews, I think we expected much more but overall it was a good time. We appreciated having a new renovated room. Small parking with some issues to find a spot. Breakfast is a bit awkward as there are no proper tables to eat.

The staff are wonderful, very helpful, and well informed. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and relaxing. The complimentary breakfast was great, well made and provided a nice opportunity to either mingle with the other guests or keep to yourself. You're also only a block or 2 away from downtown Charlottetown and some great restaurants. Stayed for 2 nights when we traveled to PEI, and the time there was so good we decided to come back for another night a few days later. On the second stay, the air conditioner wasn't working, but the staff were very quick to address it and get the problem resolved. HIGHLY recommend staying here if you get the chance. We'll be coming back for another stay next time we vacation in PEI.

Right downtown, walking distance from all you need. The variety of rooms over multiple different buildings provides just about Anny accomodation you could need. I've stayed a couple times and found the beds comfy, the staff is very friendly, and the history is just really cool. A great place to stay if you have a chance that is very unique to most hotels. Don't miss the happy hour at 5pm!

This was simply the best hotel experience we have ever had! We have stayed at fancier hotels that cost twice as much and they were not as good! Everyone who works here is dialed in to customer service and they were amazing! If you don't stay here that's your fault! Beautifully reno'ed room, lovely special touches and really thoughtful staff - front desk, cleaning all of them wonderful!!

Can’t say enough positive things about the Great George! Beautiful rooms, location and wonderful staff. The location is so close to the founders market AND downtown queen street. We walked everywhere. We stayed in the King room and it was so wonderful, best bed and best sleep we’ve had in a hotel. Can’t wait to visit again!

Very disappointed! This hotel is rated 4.5 stars, which personallly I feel is extremely generous, and is described as a 'boutique' hotel, again in my experience a stretch. Yes, we booked a standard queen room but the room we were given was anything but boutique. Located in the Wellington, I believe it was a ground floor, corner room. The room was a generous size with two windows facing the street and one to the sidem however the furniture, apart from the bed was old and dated, think pine 80's furniture. The bathroom was basic with nothing 'boutique' about it at all. There was a Keurig style coffee maker with only two coffee pods supplied. Too bad if you are a tea drinker! No water, cookies, hot chocolate, nothing else supplied. Our first night was a Saturday night and following a 5 hour drive and dinner out we were exhausted, more than ready to sleep. The bed was extremely confortable as were the pillows and we both fell into a deep and welcome sleep. Around 2:00am the street noise started as the local bars emptied. It appeared every drunk in Charlottetown walked past our bedroom windows with many opting to stand on the corner to have conversations where they dissected in minute detail their evenings or the various options for getting home. Has this hotel never heard of secondary glazing? I get the property is heritage but internal secondary glazing would help towards reducing the street noise. Even my husband who can normally sleep through most things was awakened 3 times while I never went back to sleep before 5:00am. We were out for most of the day visiting family ans on our reurn in the evening we discovered their had been no maid service! Our bed was unmade, the towels had not been refreshed, the garbage can had not been emptied and our two coffee pods had not been replenished! Thankfully, Sunday night was much quieter and we both slept well. Waking on Monday morning, the temperature was minus 2 and we had no heat in our room and no heat came on before we checked out at 10:00am. To say I was unimpressed would be an understatement. All things considered this was not what I was expecting from The George Hotel. It's unlikely I will choose to stay here again and I think it's completely over rated.

Beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was good. Our room was nice with heated bathroom tile and a jacuzzi tub. The only thing was that there were some pretty big stains on the carpets. Otherwise everything else was great!

Hands down one of the nicest boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. From the fresh daily baked cookies at 3 pm to the happy hour to the service with a smile. Well done. Special mention to Eriks (from Brazil) who went above and beyond to accommodate my tough request.

A unique, historic hotel in the heart of Charlottetown. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, nothing they couldn’t answer! Free breakfast. You can also use the bikes for free too. Great opportunity to explore the city. Would stay here again.

Everything was amazing. If you can stay here! From the fresh cookies in the lobby to happy hour to the cool eclectic buildings, and the clean rooms everything was 10 out of 10. Staff were also exceptional. Thank you can't wait to go back.

Everything was top notch. We were upgraded when we arrived and stayed in the amazing Prentice House. As others have noted the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good and we really liked the location - quiet and easy walking distance to downtown areas. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely walkable experience Quirky rooms without the imperfections seen when you say historic and quirky. Pavilion was the main building and we stayed on the fourth floor. It was quiet gloriously comfortable and luxurious. The Rocky was a nice touch to stream as we were winding down for the night. Great promotion for a gift card when reducing housekeeping laundry footprints to offset dinner at an affiliate restaurant. Breakfast was great. Something hot. Something real ( Scottish oats) something sweet topped off with coffee and juice ( variety offered) All in a great stay and would stay again and again. Loved it!!!

Best hotel. So happy chose to stay at this location. Staff was incredible. Made us feel like family. Accommodating for our situation and helpful. Ian was such a delight. He provided so much help while visiting the Island. He's surely an asset. Looking forward to seeing him when we return, soon I hope. Would highly recommend. Matthew and Mariela were amazing. Lots of parking. Close to everything. If you're not staying here while in Charlottetown you're missing out on the whole experience. Enjoy.

My husband and I stayed at the Great George for three nights October 2021. It was the best! The staff are amazing...so friendly and helpful We could walk to great restaurants and stores. We were treated to a cocktail hour at 5 each night. The home made breakfast was served each morning . We really liked Paulette. Such a friendly gal. She is an amazing chef too Muffins, banana bread, frittatas etc....made by her....delicious We cant say enough about our stay. A unique hotel.... You wont be disappointed The Chapmans Ontario

The service was excellent. Very welcoming and accommodating and parking was close by. Breakfast was delivered to our room (you need to fill out a form and deliver to front desk by 10pm the night before) - we stayed two nights and forgot to do this on the second night. But. However. It is February and temperatures are in the minuses. We stayed in the Caroll House - romantic getaway suite and an air conditioner in the bedroom wall was QUITE drafty. Wind blew in through the bottom of the unit and no matter how high we turned the thermostat in the room - it stayed quite cold. The windows in the living area were also cold and drafty. There was an electric FP which helped keep the room somewhat comfortable. Overall this unit is in need of a complete makeover to reflect the nightly rates being charged.

Amazing service from all the staff, especially Brittany. The lobby was a welcome home every time we stepped in through the doors. And their ever present freshly baked cookies will make your mouth water.

Amazing experience. Staff were very hospitable and kind, they even provided complimentary fresh baked cookies at check in. Location is walking distance to most of the attractions, our room was comfortable and clean and the buffet breakfast was delicious. Also, the lobby was very grand and has games like chess and checkers.
