The rooms are very basic just a bed, toilet and shower basically. My husband booked this for our family and it wasn’t the best as my son was sick and there was no fridge or microwave so it made things a bit difficult. I would recommend this hotel for younger travellers without a child. You have all your basics and everything is close by in walking distance. All the staff here are also very friendly and helpful. Overall a decent stay.

Hotel is fair, rooms are super small, but it makes the deal. There are 5 floors and no elevators, no breakfast sevices. But location was great!

Perfect location, next to a very nice cafe aswell, great room service and lovely reception people. Don’t take a room in the upper floors, going up the stairs is a struggle 🤣

Basic, but good. The room was clean. The en-suite was lovely. We had the basement room, which was a twin. There was a large window which meant lots of fresh air. The staff were all warm and friendly and happy to help. The hotel is close to the centre of the city, so there are eateries, pubs, coffe-shops and a club across the road. This is not the place to be if you want peace and quiet. Bear that in mind when you book. That said, we were untroubled by any noise. There is a tram stop within a couple of hundred yards. Bring flip-flops to wear in the shower! There are no anti-slip mats to be had in Amsterdam There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but there is a coffee and hot drinks machine in reception. Drinks from the machine are free in the morning. Like most Amsterdam traditional buildings, the stairs are narrow and steep. There is no lift. Sadly, due to that, the building is not disabled friendly. There are ground floor rooms though, so ask when you book. All-in-all, I thought the place was excellent value and would happily stay there again for another short break.

Avoid this place like the plague. Genuinely feel robbed. This should be renamed acostar hostel. In no way is this a premium offering despite its premium prices. Everything is low quality. The rooms are tiny and even better it is right next to a very loud club (church) . If I had paid €40 per night I'd be happy as that is the level the hotel is at, the rooms have no heating/cooling options. There is no lift despite rooms being on the 4th floor and the stairs are extremely steep so very difficult with luggage. It's only redeeming feature being it's central location but it was €500 for 2 nights! Housekeeping tried entering our room at 10:30 despite checkout being at 11. Save yourself some money , go a little out of the centre and enjoy walking the streets of Amsterdam. If you think I'm just a whiny guest, check my reviews, I almost exclusively post positive reviews!

Strongly NOT recommended. It is not worthy to stay in this hotel. There are multiple reason for that: 1- Quality of the bed are very bad. In some rooms the beds are not in the same level. Some has old soft beds! 2- The hotel has 4 floors and no elevator. 3- They have given me a room and after one hour they forced me change it! The were not even eager to change the bed sheets of the new rooms they gave me. 4- They ask for 75 euros deposit which is often the case in similar places. 5- Rooms are not clean properly. 6- The staffs are not polite. It is extremely slow services. 7- Surrounding is crowded, and hotel does not have any noise absorption to make the rooms a bit quite.

Acostar hotel is a very nice hotel in central Amsterdam. The rooms are sufficient and well sized especially for a room in Amsterdam (not as small then I've thought). The stairs are small but we had no problem with that. They have nice shops and restaurants nearby, the hotel is located near public transport. They have free coffee in the morning. Staff is super friendly. Sometimes you can smell in the stairway the smoke from the local coffee shop. I do wish they would renovate the rooms and add more pictures or mirrors to the room, as the rooms are very dull. Other than that stuff all is great! We will definitely come back again! 👍🏼

We found the deal on an app which is cheapest compared to other city accommodations in Amsterdam. Great location in the very middle of the city. You can walk to anywhere and it’s close to shopping area too. Room was ok not too small. There was no fridge and there’s no hotel parking, no hotel restaurant. They do only valet parking by third party. I actually called to ask the details of the parking space but they didn’t tell us in advance. We ended up parking in the public area and pay to the machine. Good shower and private bathroom. Overall, it was clean. They give free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. But the next morning we asked for coffee, a staff said he couldn’t find the cups!!

In the rooms facing the street it gets really noisy. There is a nightclub opposite of the hotel and a coffeeshop right next to it. Drunk people yell outside and the windows are old and do not close well, so you really hear everything. The rooms are also really small and the floor was sticky. The pictures presented have nothing to do with the room I stayed in. The bathroom is nice however, and the location is great. Please put new, more soundproof windows in and clean the floor more thoroughly. Overall, the hotel is good if you travel to go out, party and come home late, but not for a business trip were you want to sleep early.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were dirty, mouldy and nowhere near the standard required for any hotel. I stayed in a room with 4 people and all of us fell sick from the conditions, and were also up at all hours of the morning due to the heat. We would’ve opened our window but there were stray cats outside our room. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, other than the location and a vending machine, everything else was terrible… even for a two star hotel.

The hotel is nice clean and spacious in a good location. Except for the nightclub across the street. I think it's only open from Thursday but it made it impossible to sleep on our last night.

Please save your money, don’t book this hotel. I can’t believe i haven given money to stay here. The pictures on the website are not accurate at all! I think they just put random pictures of a different hotel on. We booked a double room. The rooms are tiny, have nothing in them apart from a bed and stool. The bathrooms are small and ours wasn’t very clean at all. We stayed on the first floor and the windows are awful, all night we could hear music, the bins banging around and motorbikes everywhere all hours. Yes the location is great, walking distance from everything, but if you want to feel clean after a shower and not worse, don’t come here. The staff are friendly and helpful, although you can’t check in until after 3pm which is not stated on the website.

Really seedy hotel, tiny rooms and little space for anything other than sleeping. No chair, table, etc. The room smelled strongly of the coffee shop next door. There were stains on the bed and mould in the shower. Worst of all they stole our deposit. Never, ever, go here. Even at the budget end of the range there are far better places than this.

The location is amazing, the staff are very nice and the bed is very comfortable. Overall I definitely enjoyed staying here and I’m for sure recommending this place.

The worst hotel in Amsterdam with very dirty rooms and poor hygiene. Mould in the showers. Hair on the floors of newly "cleaned" rooms. A deposit is taken that you will not see again. Strong smell of cannabis in our ground floor room from the coffee shop next door. Do not stay here.

It's not a luxury hotel but it's clean, comfortable and the personnel is welcoming and nice. Price is correct and position is perfect

Perfect stay in a no frills hotel, clean room, sheets, comfortable bed, hot water in the shower, plenty of clean towels and a decent TV. Centrally located, only round the corner from a tram stop- will definitely return here again.

Very good location, the price point was ok as it was a season, rooms was clean, staff was friendly, the one issue I faced was the club in front of the hotel as people usually finish so late and they start having fun in the streets and they r so loud, other than that I loved it

Hello, I had a horrible night at the hotel. It al started by the receptionist being very rude for no reason at all, then he put us in something like a small storage room with two beds in it and a bathroom where not even a half person would have enough space in. Then there was something like a rotten wall or something covered with tape and paint which also made me very uncomfortable with my stay. And this all happened from Sunday to Monday night, so you can’t tell me there weren’t other rooms he could gave us. I don’t recommend coming here.

Was rather disappointed, although at the time of booking it showed to have free parking, thats not exactly true, free on street parking during night only if you can find a spot. During daytime you have to pay. We opted to leave car in quark parking nearby, but that was unexpected €90 we had to fork out. Also room was on smaller side and no air conditioning. On another side rooms got cleaned every day with fresh linen and towels.

Stayed here in Feb 2020. Superb location, right in the middle of everything, not near dam square but that's not really where you want to be unless you like loads of clothing shops? Very basic hotel but we are avid stayers in Amsterdam and the best hotels are the basic ones, it's an old city they're all like that. We had a basement room at the front. Nothing amazing. We were only there to sleep. Power went off a few times, superb free coffee machine at front desk used every morning and on our way out, lovely fresh coffee! Only annoying thing was check In was really late.

Absolutely disappointing to say the least. In January 2019 we had booked accommodation with this hotel however due to the current pandemic my family and I were unable to travel overseas. We had reached out to Booking.com and the hotel directly pleading for a refund as we were struggling financially only to be told we could only re schedule our dates. 2 years later, as the pandemic continues, we have still not been able to obtain a refund. I appreciate that this is tough time for people and businesses but this cancellation was due to no fault of our own. When we are able to travel again overseas, I will not be booking any accommodation here.

I would not recommend this hotel. Rooms are very very small, dirty, one of my friends found DUCK TAPE on the wall, like 50 square cm of duck tape to cover a hole in the wall. Housekeeping services where pretty bad, no clean towels, no paper napkins, no soap. They don't have parking spots even if their are advertising this. Definitely would not come back to this hotel.

When booking, their system didnt let my payment through and they didnt even notify me. So when I showed up I had no reservation, they put me in 3 different rooms for 4 nights. Had to check out and check in 3 times and they didnt seem remotely concerned. It was like talking to Bank of America’s automated phone responder. The ”included breakfast” or free coffee or whatever is marketed is just an office coffee machine and the power outlets didnt work in 2 of the shoebox sized rooms. Basically dont expect anything more than is right out said, not even electricity can be taken for granted here!
