👍 An interesting option for dinner. The food was nice and I really enjoyed the eretrian way of sharing from the same tray. A bit too spicy. There are nice/rare options of african beers. The service was a bit slow but very friendly. People often mention service, beer, great, Eritrean,

Excellent food and unique way of eating with your hands (you can opt to eat with cutlery too). The beer served in coconut cups was interesting. You can find meat or vegetarian dishes. The service is good and the atmosphere is very nice. Reservation is recommended since it is usually full.

Super tasty menu esp the mixed plates. They also make their own beer with ingredients from Afrika. Friendly owner.

In general you would think okay, but not. Each aspect could be better. I believe 2 of 8 kinds of toppings were not the freshest (or just tasted really bad), the service was unkind at first and some other things. All of that could be easily improved and I’ll be back in the future to check how they’re doing.

1st time here like trying out new things. Owner asking the right questions and recommended a dish. With a variety of what his restaurant has to offer. So I took a mix of meat and vegetarian. Very tasteful food what you eat with a kindah pancakes. 4 me it was a good choice and I enjoyed it.

Warm and cosy environment, great food! Staff gives good, and often, recommendations. The mixed sharing meal is a great option for trying out Eritrean food here! They also got a speciality Eritrean beer and liqueur that are worth trying out.

A great place to have authentic Eritrean food. The atmosphere, the music, paintings on the wall, the tastes and smells - all great. Service is prompt and friendly either by the owner or his brother. Try it and end the delicious dinner with the Eritrean Djebena coffee.

Amazing food and service. The beer is served in coconut cups which is very refreshing. Order the shared plate for 2 or more people, including a rich variety of food!

I've never had ethiopian food before or ate in an ethiopian restaurant. I would have to judge others off of this one, And i'm afraid all the rest will have big shoes to fill. The service was great and the food was great.

One of the most (if not the most) delicious restaurants in Leiden! An absolute must-try! Such a unique experience, in a very special environment, with really nice service and excellent food. Don't miss out on the beer as well!

If I think about delicious food the answer is Djebena… we shared a platter with all the meats and lentils, spinach and pancakes, perfect… cozy atmosphere and lovely owner. Would definitely go back!

We asked before ordering if it is going to be spicy. The waiter said no it is not spicy at all. Guess what.. everything was spicy. Also too small portions..

I had never tried Eritrean food until my friends invited me to this place, and I must say I was missing out. The food was insanely delicious, in fact some of the best food I have had in the Netherlands since I moved here 2 years ago. Everything was rich and tasty, we ordered one of the platters that has a bit of everything and it does not disappoint. The owners are very kind and treat you very well, there was a small language barrier but nothing that really impaired the service. Order one of the Eritrean beers! The coconut beer was delicious.
