I cannot speak highly enough of this great little museum. It’s the people that make it, one staff member in particular who interacted so genuinely and kindly with my 5 year old son. He was absolutely delighted with the chance to be a real archaeologist, even getting a certificate to prove it. He loved talking about all the things he’d found and her questioning just made his day. Thanks so much. Hope others will be inspired to come along and support this great little place

Free entry! Great for tourists and locals! They have a skeleton in the basement. It can be hard to find. Its on the main market, near the church entrance. A very small door.

For a free museum there's nothing to complain about. Dozens of medieval artifacts. Friendly staff.

How nice to find a free and at the same time interesting museum! Here you can simultaneously see interesting exhibits, 15th-century Dutchman restored from the skull and take a selfie in the old Dutch style. Haarlem thank you!

Cool little archaeology museum. It's a small space in the basement of an old building, right at the main square of Haarlem. For me it wasn't very interesting, but maybe for kids it would be fun, and at the end it's free - which is also very appreciated

Free museum. Located in the Grote Mark area, telling a history of Haarlem in the last 500 years. Simple and straight forward lay out. Worth a look, if you have little or nothing to do....

Small but free. The entrance is small, a little bit hard to find. Kids can enjoy some activities here. The introduction films are great.

Really cool, free museum! Very friendly and lovely staff too! Thanks, guys! Good for kids too as they can excavate their own treasures from sand :o :)

A small museum located in the Grote Markt (central square of Haarlem). The entrance is free and they have very interesting artefacts found in Haarlem, several of them dating to many centuries ago. The people working there were also very sweet!

Went with 5 and 7 year olds, they had a lot of fun. For older children probably even better. They have games and things to do for the children so it's not boring.
