Taking a walk back in time was so interesting. This was a good visit with easy access from the underground parking. Heard the bells chime and had the children ring the bell in the foyer. Thanks to the staff for that special privilege. Views from the top are splendid. Saw the set up for an event in the area in front of the tower. Appreciated the lift on the way down! The staff were friendly and very helpful. They had lots of knowledge and could answer our myriad of questions.

A beautiful building. Even more beutiful from the inside and the view from the top was amazing! Truly this is the "Pisa Tower" of Leeuwarden! I was here last year but time to go back again!

Awesome place in really lovely city / country area. This tower is tilted in the almost same angle as the Pisa Tower. Climbing the stairs is interesting experience ;) btw it is really easy to find the parking lots in near area. Close to the tower is also really nice park and the city centre is nearby.

This must have been one of the weirdest experiences in my life! After only a few seconds climbing up the stairwell I started feeling dizzy and wobbly. At the top it took me a few moments to find my bearings but the view was really nice. Well worth it.

I wish I could have gone up to see but unfortunately it was closed at the time of my visit, so I had to settle for taking some photos outside and admiring the leaning architecture. My understanding is that the Oldehove has been around since the medieval ages of the city. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

A tower in the centre of the city with a parking lot next to it. Tower is slightly tilted with free entrance to the lower level and payed entrance for the roof.

What happens when you try to covet the Martinitower of your neighbours in Groningen? An incidental leaning tower of Pisa in the Netherlands is born. When the Frysian people discovered that Groningen was building Martinitower, they wanted a bigger one in Leeuwarden. So in 1529, work started on a sand hill to build a bigger one. Unfortunately, The top of the tower became displaced horizontally by 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) from the centre. This didn't stop the people of Leeuwarden from trying to correct it but ultimately failed. They stopped building the complete church and left the tower standing unfinished at a height  39 metres (127.95 feet) and 183 climbing steps. This event made quite a laughing matter with the citizens of Groningen as they felt that the people of Leeuwarden are somewhat inadequate. A feeling that is still justified today in the mind of the citizens of Groningen ...

We visited this place with a ticket to reach at the top. View from top is good. There is lift option for one portion of height. Other than that you have to take stairs. Building also has some presentations which is in Dutch about the building. While taking stairs you can feel the tiltedness of the building.

Its More Tilted than Leaning Tower of Pisa. the view is awesome from the top . we took the stairs. You will definitely experince the tiltedness of the building . Its in city center . you can go by lift to certain height. also some holographic presentation was given .The Oldehove is a leaning and unfinished church tower in the medieval centre of the Dutch city of Leeuwarden. Oldehove is also the name of an artificial mound on which in the late 9th century a church dedicated to Saint Vitus was built. Children up to and including 12 years: € 1.50 pp Young people from 13 to 17 years old € 2.50, Students (with student card): € 2.50 pp Adults: € 3.50 pp
