Up high in the mountain of Bavaria in Lower Franconia is a beautiful Church, a Pilgrimage site. Picturesque, quiet area and off the beaten path. Lovely to watch sunset and for strolling around. There’s a beautiful meadow and forest to enjoy nature and to take a breathe away from the hustle and bustle of big city. The old Church is favourite destination for Pilgrims each year. There’s parking area and comfort rooms for visitors and a cafe bistro. The impressively old town of Zeil a.Main which can be seen from atop the mountain chapel is brimmed with half-timbered century old houses, pubs and restaurants. Worth visiting, I highly recommend in your bucket list.

Sehr schöne Kapelle - sieht edel, stilvoll, nicht prunkvoll und nicht überladen, aber mit einzelnen beeindruckenden Akzenten wie den farbigen Fenstern oder dem einer Blume gleichenden großen Fenster im hinteren Teil der Kirche oder den Blick von innen durch die Ausgangstüre direkt ins Tal (wirkt fast schon unwirklich). Auch die dazu gebaute Grotte ist ungewöhnlich, passt aber sehr gut. Der Altar wirkt auch sehr gut dazu passend schlicht elegant. Also ein sehr eigener Stil, aber rundherum gelungen.

It was one of my favorite places to ride when visited Germany. Used to ride around Bamberg to then finish going up that hill. Sometimes kicking my ash, but it was all worth it. Germany is such an amazing place to ride.

Diese Zeiler Kapelle ("Zeiler Käppele" genannt) liegt auf einer Anhöhe. Ein fantastischer Blick über die Stadt, den Main und weit ins Land hinein , belohnt für den Weg! Kein Wunder, dass dieser Ort als Wallfahrtsort empfunden und gelebt wird. Hier atmet man freier durch, ist der Natur und Gottes Schöpfung näher verbunden als im Geschäftsbetrieb einer Stadt. Auch die Kapelle selbst ist sehenswert. Sie wird gern als Hochzeitskapelle benutzt. Die hinter der Kapelle liegende Gastwirtschaft gibt dem Wanderer, Gast und Feiernden gastronomisch alles, was sie brauchen. Also alles in allem ein Ort, wo man wieder zu sich selbst finden kann.
