It was one of the worst vegan meals that I've ever tasted. I tried vegan steak and basically it had no taste, no flavour, broccoli side dish was still uncooked. My friend got cauliflower dish with high suggestion of the waitress. It was uncooked 5 different cauliflower on the plate. When we gave feedback, one of the waitresses got angry at us, but the other one was nice and offered us some free drinks. Overall bad and very expensive experience.

They have 2 locations, one on the voorstraat and one on the amsterdamsestraatweg. The voorstraat is most of the times busier than the amsterdamsestraatweg. Go there and it wont let you down!!

Gys is a very cosy place, perfect for an afternoon break, an indulgent lunch with wholesome ingredients or to come and read or work for a little bit. This time I went for a dirty chai with coconut milk which was very flavorful. Shout out to the friendly staff (and the singing waiter ;) ).

This was the best pumpkin soup I've tasted in 62 years. The flavours were wonderful, the portion (small) ample and the bread excellent too. The dessert was also top quality. On the downside the waiting time was quite long an the table slanted so that stuff rolled off. I'll deffo be going back for the soup though

**This is a review to the delivery service: I just ordered two burgers, fries and onion rings and I have to say, I am disappointed. My burger was soggy and tasteless and had a very dry bread. The fries, as you can see at the pictures were “mini”. To me it looks like they used only the rests of the package. The onion rings...does that brown thing looks like onion ring to anyone? Also it tasted like oil, nothing more. We had to wait more then an hour to have this first ever experience. I do not recommend. I hate to write this kind of reviews, it is a pity because veggie and vegan food can be amazing! I hope they get better in the future.

Very nice experience. We waited a bit to be seated even though we had a reservation but the staff was very friendly and nice. The food is really good, lots of choices and good price quality balance. Deffinetly want to go back to try more of the menu!

Before my visit I got in contact with Gys about my dietary restrictions since I am celiac (gluten-free) and intolerant to lactose, onion, garlic, and others. They were super understanding and patient and tried to offer multiple options of preparing a safe meal for me. During my visit I also felt they were very much willing to accommodate my needs. The waiter always made sure the food I requested could be prepared in a gluten-free way. The food was really delicious and always looked amazing. I'll for sure come back and I totally recommend it to anyone passing by Utrecht!

Wonderful vegan heaven away from the crowded central of Utrecht just 10 minutes walk and Wala! You are here. Also only 4 dishes were vegetarian with the option to make them vegan, so great to see a more mainstream chain restaurant doing this and doing it well!
