2023 UPDATE, 1 year later. TLDR: I don't regret going here. However, if given the choice again, I would go to a smaller, more personalised orthodontic/dentistry clinic that cares about overall health. 7 things I wish I knew *before* doing this: - bestsmile is not your local orthodontist's office; dental health is not in focus here. You are not a patient, you are a customer (one of hundreds), and they are selling you a product. The difference is palpable and, I think, important to keep in mind. - Billing is not handled by bestsmile; it is outsourced to a faceless external company that has no stakes in your overall customer experience. - Your results might not be perfect, since aligners are less powerful than braces. My teeth are now straighter than they were (my case was relatively mild), but not perfect the way they were when I did braces as a teenager. - Tooth filing/contouring may be suggested at the end, to correct imperfect results. - Your speech may be noticeably different for a week or two at the beginning, and then again for a few days each time you switch aligners. - Removing a new aligner hurts. A lot. (Pro tip: Switch to your next aligner at bedtime - that way by the time you take it out the next morning, your teeth have already had a bit time to adjust, so it's way less painful.) - The buttons/attachments (if you need them) are tooth-coloured, but they still feel quite noticeable. In general, I would have wished for more discussion at bestsmile. Especially a much longer, more in-depth first consultation, in which various options were presented, **along with their respective limitations and risks**. (The fact that a major intervention like veneers was casually suggested, with literally zero discussion of its risks or long-term implications, will always throw me off). __________________________ 2022: I’m fine with my results, and my doc was cool. The whole experience did feel like a money grab though, moreso than a place where they really care about you. The consultation was rushed - I just wanted straightening, but they handed me a contract with expensive extra frills without asking, such as whitening gels, a night guard retainer, and even suggested finishing with veneers, which I absolutely do not need and which have permanent consequences for your teeth (I’m only 35 and my teeth are healthy). I had to actively pull on the brakes, ask them about all these extras, and tell them to remove them from the contract. DO NOT let them talk you in to monthly payments, if you can avoid it. The interest rates are highhh and written in tiny fine print on the bill. I actually opted to pay all at once, but I paid my bill too absentmindedly when it arrived, by scanning the QR code. Failed to notice the amount in the QR-code was not the full price as requested, but rather the smaller, monthly-payment amount (I would have had to enter the correct amount manually). Was then slapped with a 500.- INTEREST FEE. Called the billing hotline and explained what happened, was told tough luck.

Top advice, top team, top results! I am very satisfied with the results of my almost 1 year aligner treatment. Competent advice and implementation. I can highly recommend it to everyone!

I was ripped off by Bestsmile. First I was sold a tooth correction, shortly before it was finished the dentist (who no longer worked there a few months later) talked me out of the retainer that I had already ordered and paid for in advance and recommended that I have it placed somewhere else because at Bestsmile she said “only had a “variant” and it wasn’t so good. In reality, she must have seen that I didn't have any room for a retainer. My dentist then placed the retainer, unfortunately without pointing out to me that it didn't have enough space at the top. Then the teeth shifted again. Now I have the same gaps that I wanted corrected, just further back. And I'm 5,500 poorer. Never again!! 🤬

I was 66 when I started having my teeth straightened in my lower jaw. My teeth had shifted badly in the course of “life evolution”. After very competent advice from dentist Soma, I decided on the longer process. In fact, it affected 8 months. You really have to wear the splints 22 hours a day if possible. This includes discipline. I did it this way and the result is great! All teeth mega-grade again. After I finished carrying the rail, I got a wire on the inside that holds and is not annoying at all. Every month during that time, I was looked after and accompanied by the wonderful dentist Soma. On top of that. Since everything turned out so beautifully, just as I wanted, I decided to put a few veneers on it. These are also a complete success. I'm simply thrilled and happy. Not serious at all. First i come for the 1st appointment and the photos are made, I go and then they call me back to tell that the person did not take the Photos well (did not do the appointment properly) and they ask me to come back again to re do the same. Then the dentist asks me to do additional scanner (even though I have sent the last scanner I had) and did not validate that I can start my treatment until she validates the new scanner and the gum health. Bestsmile starts already charging me and asking me to pay 1/3 of the whole amount even though the dentist did not agree to give me the treatment and she needs to check my health via the scanner. I will not recommend and if knew, i would not come to them.

I started treatment in 2022. I didn't notice any difference up to the 6 rail. When I told the dentist this several times, she didn't seem to care. After that I decided to change dentists, who then told me that the attachments were completely wrong and so was the treatment plan. Then I was offered another treatment and I went to Aarau. The dentist there then told me again that the treatment plan was not correct and that the attachments had to be in a different position. I thought to myself here, very unprofessional. I had my dentist check it out and he also said it was a complete waste of time. The teeth haven't shifted even slightly! But in the end BestSmile doesn't seem to care about that, they always give you empty promises and you don't get the money back either. Don't go to bestsmile!

Super great! The whole process couldn't have been easier. I had braces when I was younger and the bestsmile aligners are sooo much nicer. Every two weeks you just switch them at home, and they're invisible! Great results and fabulous staff and support throughout. Would absolutely recommend.

From the beginning the team, location and technique of Best smile has been excellent! The whole process from the first appointment since I receive the aligners has been absolutely professional and reliable. The aligners are 99.9% invisible and comfortable and 100% effective. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results and the amazing technique of best smile. 5 STARS!
