We visited here for lunch to experience fondue on our trip to Zürich. Very busy place, fortunately we were able to get table without much wait. We also ordered, pasta, curry rice etc. fondue and all other dishes were delicious. Service was great. Really enjoyed dining experience here.

Great meal here. We liked the cheese fondue and the addition of the beef to the meal was really great. Bread was provided with the cheese fondue. The chicken was good, not great. Overall a good meal deserving of 4.5 stars. 3,000 reviews (as of 12 Jan 2022) can’t be wrong!!

The food here was great, except it was very pricey for what I feel you may have gotten elsewhere for less. The decor is great and worth the visit, but the service was somewhat lacking. It felt very geared towards tourists and yet seemed to treat tourists as a bother. There were multiple tables inside when I asked for just a solo table, they told me twice they didn't have any. I ended up outside and the waiter was just okay. I hardly saw him, to be honest, but it was busy. The menu is a bit confusing. They have English written very small and hard to see, and when I ordered "Beef with Fondue" it indicated $18... but, I was also charged and later told that the "Fondue" part was an additional $36... at the end of the meal the bill also included a tip, which then I was asked to add an additional tip to the bill... I declined. Ifbthe service deserved a tip, I would decide that and leave it myself, thanks.

Decided to go to this place because of several reviews and finding this place among the best having Fondue. Fondue was good (if you prefer without alcohol don’t forget to tell the waiter); they forgot one of the items ordered but apologized for forgetting and brought later; service was normal, not something exceptional. Inside atmosphere is pretty nice not considering specific smell of the cheese, but its something you get accustomed after several minutes.

Prompt service and a unique experience for fondue lovers. I’m lactose intolerant but it was good to learn some of the fondue were lactose free. The experience of eating fondue itself was worth it. Service was a little slow as they were busy and typically not as attentive unless you willed for it but it’s not all that bad as you’ll usually have everything you need when you first order. Fondue was subtle and excellent. Great grate and texture. I also enjoyed their pork sausage in onion sauce dish. And surprisingly the onion soup was a standout. Perfectly balanced flavors making each sip heaven. Although I think service can slightly improve, I’m giving them 5 stars.

The traditional Swiss fondue was just amazing!! My husband and I shared one together. It was more than enough. We ordered sides like chicken and potatoes. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate fondue and it was splendid! One of the best food places to experience if you are in old town Zürich.

Great food, very busy. I suggest making sure you tell servers to bring salad out with dinner. We waited an extra 45 min for our table since the salad was ordered as they waited for that to be done with at table. Once done the main dish was finally in line and it got very busy. Overall it was good but not over the top gotta go back right now.

We were actually a little underwhelmed, it didn't quite live up to our expectations from a Hotel Adler restaurant. We shared a cheese fondue and sides, it was good but really nothing extraordinary and we had better ones in Zurich. Not really worth the money as it was rather pricey in comparison. Cute restaurant and good service though!

Almost bad service, the people of Switzerland are proud of their qualities or this restaurant does not pick its staff. Swiss fondue is acceptable, but it does not deserve this fame. The price of this cheese is 34 euros for you to judge

A very famous and a well known restaurant in Zurich right in the centre and is always busy… ppl come here just to taste their fondue… u have to wait in line to be seated but the restaurant is well maintained and a lot of options to choose from We ordered the snails in herb butter which was light and flavourful.. and tomato soup was very intense.. the highlight obviously was the fondue with aged cheeses n alcohol and was very rich n indulgent!!! Even the staff are very friendly and hospitable!!!

We enjoyed having dinner here. The cheese fondue was amazing and the staff are happy to listen to your wishes and recommend the best fondue for you. My partner had the meat fondue which was also delicious and came with a wide variety of sauces. Ambiance inside the restaurant is nice with a lot of wooden decoration. And the unmistaken smell of cheese fondue is everywhere. 🤤 Thank you to Karol and Daniele for the friendly service.

Absolutely loved this place. Would recommend reserving a table before you visit as there was a line/waiting for those who didn't reserve a table. Many thanks to Jana, our waitress, for her recommendations. Service was great. Food was delicious. Traditional Buckwheat Pasta, Traditional Swiss Macaroni and Cheese fondue is highly recommended for vegetarians. Tofu Curry with rice was okay. You can't be going to Swiss Chuchi and not have fondue. It was the best I've ever had. Would love to visit again

If you want to try authentic fondue in the middle of the old town, this is the place to go. It's in the middle of a touristy location but the price is not bad. We ordered half-half fondue with bread and potato. It was my first fondue experience and it was the best cheese dish I ever had!

The food is really delicious! Contrary to what was written in the comments, the prices seemed quite normal to us. You pay for delicious food. We went with a reservation and 2 hours was quite enough for us. The service is fast and the staff is very attentive. When you come to Zurich, you should try fondue and other dishes on the menu!

It's was mistake to stay here! Around many places cheaper and more tasty food! For this prices dishes was small (even at pic look bigger) and fish was to salty! Swiss in general expensive country, but at least for this prices want to see better service and food

I recommend this restaurant for its authentic Swiss Cheese Fondue. We tried the four cheese fondue and it was amazing. Very good service and lively atmosphere. Had to queue for about 20 minutes on a Sunday for dinner, but we did not have a reservation and still were able to get a table. The place is close to the city center so its quite accessible.

We were a little nervous about trying this place because the reviews were so mixed but we had a wonderful experience. If you go without a reservation I would expect to wait. We got lucky and went right before the dinner rush and didn’t have to wait. The fondue is yummy but it’s a lot. We ordered a pot for 2 peeps with chicken and fruit and we couldn’t finished everything. The fruit with the cheese was our favorite. The house white wine was delicious. 🤤 I liked that they had a variety of different cheese fondues to pick from. I wish we would have done 2 different cheese pots instead of one big one of the same. Just remember to be patient here, this place is super busy and I would recommend making a reservation so you don’t have to wait.

A lovely, but honestly over-priced, experience. My partner and I shared a cheese fondue which was nice enough but not worth the 100 francs we ended up paying. Do bear in mind the starting price only includes bread so if you want to dip anything else in your fondue, like potatoes or meat, you will need to order additional side dishes, which is how our bill went from 80 francs to 100. While the food is nothing special, the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is incredibly cosy and inviting, so this is partly what you are paying for with the high prices. Do book in advance as when I arrived there was a queue to walk-in and they were only given outdoor tables.

It’s popular and downtown, so you’re definitely paying up for it, but it’s good for a nice night of fondue! The food was all absolutely delicious and very fast despite being packed on a Sunday night. We only waited around 10-15min for a table of two people, but you should definitely get a reservation. Our service was absolutely fantastic (Adriana! 💕) and she always had a smile on her face even though everyone was running around with how busy it was. I think that often times folks from certain countries can forget that expecting your server to check in on you every 10 minutes (without making eye contact to indicate you need something) and for your food to come out within a few minutes of ordering it isn’t standard in other places :) For food, we had the Vaudois fondue with steamed veggies, the winter special of veal in a mushroom sauce, and then chocolate fondue for dessert, as well as some beers on tap. While everything was delicious, I think I would just recommend going for drinks and fondue (as some local businessmen seemed to be doing next to us) since it’s quite pricy, but admittedly the veal was absolutely amazing and worth it if you’re looking for a heartier meal - honestly, anything on the seasonal menu would probably be a great choice! The chocolate fondue was tasty, but most of the (seasonal) fruits available weren’t our favorite pairing with it - perhaps it would be better in the summer with some strawberries! For folks who are a bit noise-sensitive, we did find it to be awfully loud (solid wood walls and flooring), but we just drank beer and got ourselves in the spirit of things. If that’s not your thing, maybe try going earlier in the evening or late afternoon and it should be much quieter!

Incredible restaurant. Probably one of my favourite restaurants I’ve been to abroad since I travel often. This time, I was with my family for my Dad’s 60th birthday and they provided amazing service. My mum is gluten free and they had a range of gluten free food to offer! She thoroughly enjoyed it. Their cheese fondue was exquisite, and they had a range of side dishes to choose from with their mains. We were excited to try Swiss food and it was a very good restaurant to choose from if you want to try authentic Swiss food. The atmosphere was very warm and the liveliness of the place of everyone chatting and enjoying themselves also adds on to the nice feeling of eating there. Our waitress, Jana was so so lovely and nice! She made our experience at the restaurant even better because we mentioned it was our Dad’s birthday and she went back to the kitchen to give us a free dessert from the restaurant and the staff sang happy birthday and my Dad almost cried. We were so grateful and thankful she served us because she was wonderful and really nice recommending us food to try as well. It’s a wholesome experience/memory I will forever cherish. When I am back in Switzerland, I will make sure to visit this place again. I recommend it so much.

We order the truffles cheese fondue for our dinner but the taste is quite bitter definitely not my taste. The meal is too heavy and rich! The service much needed to be improved . One of the waiter tell me that bill is faster than you getting serve.

Wonderful experience! We visited just after lunch hour, so it wasn't busy. Service was excellent! Staff were courteous and swift. The restaurant (including toilet) itself was very clean and cozy, with a touch of traditional decor. Food and beverage were very good, high quality - we especially loved the Adler's fondue, and the Kalbsbratwurst served with rösti. Strategically located in the old town - it's very easy to find. Prices were higher than average, but we think it's worth it. Highly recommended.

Very very tasty fondue, one of the best in Zurich. Located in the heart of old town, in a crowded area, it’s almost impossible to get a table if you don’t have a reservation. A little bit big prices even for Zürich.

It was awesome, good choice if you want to try the tradicional fondue, they serve a lot of options of cheese and sides and all of them are so delicious. 😋👍🏻💯 The place is crowded so is better to make a reservation before you go, but they can manage also no reservations guest pretty well. 👍🏻😀 enjoy your staying in Zurich Switzerland 🇨🇭🥰

Not the greatest experience. Having heard that it was the best fondue in town, we ordered the original version with high hopes. Sadly, it was doused in so much alcohol, we were only getting brief notes of cheese tastes before being hit with a terrible pungent liquor taste. While the Zürich Geschnetzeltes and spätzle was thoroughly enjoyed (really delicious!), the rösti with raclette and fried eggs was not as favorable, unfortunately. The restaurant has a remarkably strong fishy odour that resonates from it and all the reviews encourage us to look past it. Well, we soon realized that the source of this smell is the raclette... So you can imagine how hard it is to look past the smell when you're eating it!! Not a great taste/experience at all. Portions are great, but we've had much better Swiss food elsewhere. Prices are out of control.

Busy place, friendly staff with quick service. Sitting outside was fine as they have warm blankets and the onion soup was delicious and hot with a crispy puff pastry on top! Fondue was tasty as well.

Nice restaurant in the heart of historic old town Zurich, nice atmosphere inside but very busy. Service but quick & efficient, fondue was ok nothing special but nice. We got bread and steamed potatoes with it. Read wine was terrible, avoid if you can. All together a nice experience, I will come back

Our first fondue so not sure if it’s supposed to taste slightly bitter? Bit pricey and only comes with bread. We ordered some steamed veggies to go with it but found the portion quite small. The weekday lunch menu is good value for money and comes with a salad or soup.

  • 4/5 Karina C. 2 years ago on Google
Good Swiss restaurant. Typical Swiss prices (high prices). The restaurant indicates that the dishes must be ordered individually, although some dishes, such as the raclette, are enough for two people. Fondue is good but nothing special. The Zurich Card entitles you to a free dessert.

Great fondue place!!! Highly recommended to take beef and pickles... Great connection 😘 nice staff, they allways will explain how to east... Trust me ask, and stop burning your mouths 🤣

Very yummy Raclette Cheese with Sausage. The good experience was further enhanced by cooking by yourself and pouring the melted cheese over the yummy potatoes, sausage and pickled vegetables. The Truffle Cheese Fondue was delicious as well with large portion of cheese and bread provided. It gets crowded during the peak period but the staff was still attentive to our needs.

3/4 of the dishes we ordered were mediocre. The salmon was good. 🙂 I didn’t like the fact that we were forced to order at least one dish per person; we originally just wanted to try their famous fondue and order side dishes for dipping. Never had the experience of being forced to order dishes in a restaurant…… the servers looked like they were in a hurry and just wanted to maximize profits out of each table. We spent €207 for 4 people. Not bad overall but the service could’ve been better 🫤
