First of all, the room is clean and organized well. But the issue i had is with the reception guy , I had to wait for him 20 min and then he came with very unprofessional way ( he doesn’t have any skills on how to welcome customers which they came from long distance ) at least smile will be helpful. I recommend that he should take more courses on how to be kind with people. However, the lady in the morning shift was so polite and respectful to us ( thanks for that ) Again the reception is the first impression that people will get , so a good impression is needed. I hope you understand my case..

Great experience..not sure how it can be 2* hotel...objectively 3* but subjectively more like 4* young lady at the reception gave us nice warmhearted welcome and made us laugh. Room was very beautiful and it was obvious that there was attention given to the wellbeing of the guests. There was conditioner bottle and hairdryer and tv with apple tv. In the small kitchenette you can find 2 plates, two bowls, glasses and cutleries. Free waters in the fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. In the lobby there is a microwave where you can warm up your ready mades if you dont feel like dining out. My only complain is that if you feel so nice and welcomed in the hotel and outside is rainy and grey you dont even feel like going out :)

The room is clean, and the receptionist is friendly. Although the staff who received me on the day did not disclose much information about the surrounding areas, his service was good. The public transportation around the hotel is convenient. It takes ten minutes to walk to the subway station, and there are trams and buses within a five-minute walk. There are also supermarkets and McDonald's nearby, so overall it is a good hotel.

For a budget hotel, this is phenomenal. I still dream about their coffee machine in the breakfast area. The breakfast is great, the rooms are lovely and it's a wonderful hotel. Definitely worth a stay if you're in Zürich

This 2-star hotel is way better than any 4-stars hotels I stayed in. At first I was skeptical but all the positive reviews made me book a room in this hotel. We were greeted with a friendly front desk lady who gave us an upgrade. First pleasant surprise, then the room was super clean with free bottled water. The bed was super comfortable. I had the best sleep that I never got even in 5-stars hotel. Even though the rooms face a street, as soon as you close the window, it is very quiet. You can even get free coffee/tea in the lobby or a small coffee machine and water kettle in the room with a small fridge. It’s not in the center of Zurich but short distance with public transportation. I recommend this hotel and we will be back for sure. I hope you will do something to make the elevator go faster. Overall a very happy guest.

A business-esque value for money hotel, however a little far from the city centre. There are a few eating options nearby. The optional breakfast is sumptuous. The service is great. The rooms are nice with all amenities, but unfortunately our room faced a busy street, so it is very noisy throughout the night. Also, there are no curtains, so ample light even when you don't want it.

The hotel is supposed to be a 2-star, but judging by the conditions it really feels like more than that. The rooms have some smart engineering behind them with the floor heating and are comfy, the breakfast is brilliant, the staff is very kind and friendly and the location is nice and safe (you can walk at night without fear of being attacked on the street). It was my second stay at their hotel and I gotta say I was excited before I got there, because I knew what I was going for. I strongly recommend the place.

I'm truly disappointed about the cleaning of our room. When we arrived the room was full of dog air and the ground was really dirty. Also the bed cover was all of dog hair. It just seems that the room was not cleaned at all. I asked the personal about the room cleaning and beg them to clean it all again. It didn't want to sleep in a bed where a dog just slept. The top of my annoyance was when I came back few hours later in the room. It was not cleaned properly. The ground was still dirty and dog hairs still present. I feel like I've been made fun of. I've never experienced such a nightmare about cleaning in a hotel.

Had a great one-night stay at the Flag. The location is great, very quiet but accessible to the tram stop and the larger train station. We were able to check in extremely early, about 8:00 and even received a free upgrade! The room was amazing, very spacious with a nice view. The facilities are very nice. Highly recommended!

Fantastic Zurich hotel! Pleasantly surprised with level of service and rooms. Hotel is near the train station and also trams to get downtown quickly. Rooms are well equipped and my single room was comfortable and large, and had a fridge too. Front desk staff always were friendly when I entered hotel. I would consider staying here again next time I’m in Zurich.

This place is definitely a great value for money. It is located in a really quiet area of the city and the hotel itself seems like it has been recently refurbished. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious and you can also spend some time chilling in the breakfast area / working space as it is very quiet. The breakfast selection was great. I definitely recommend this place if you’re staying in Zurich.

For the price you pay the service is absolutely amazing and the facilities of the room beyond acceptable. Thanks to the beautiful young lady Natalia for taking care of us and making us feel very welcomed, leave her a nice tip whenever you can. The service was the best aspect of the experience.

The hotel looks good. The rooms are spacious everything is clean and ok. However, a few things are missing or can be improved. A single lift for that number of rooms is a nightmare at rush hours. The check in process is way to slow. The lack of air conditioning can be problematic in summer. Since it's far from the centre a bar open in the evening would be a good addition.

Really clean and nice hotel. Room had plenty of space for 2 people, cutlery and dishes provided in room with a little kitchen. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. They had a laundry room you can use for a small fee. Quick trip into the city centre on public transport

I lived here for a few months when I first moved to Zürich - nice, homely studio style hotel rooms. Good location close to Altstetten train station, Letzipark just a few minutes walk as well as Komplex 457

I stayed here for a month when I first moved to Zürich and I was incredibly happy about everything this place offered. It was super easy to register under this address and the staff was always very helpful and friendly. I can only recommend The Flag to everyone coming to Zürich and wanting a bit more than the usual hotel.

Every week we are in this hotel with our company and now a concert is playing in the neighbourhood and because of that they can rent room for a longer period, so we need to stay for at least 6 nights. But we always only stay for one or two nights. Week after week. The whole year. Customer loyalty zero. Would certainly not recommend this hotel.

Positive aspects of the hotel include complimentary tea and coffee, a hygienic environment, helpful and welcoming staff, and convenient proximity to a supermarket. Although it is located slightly further away from the city center, it offers effortless access to public transportation.

Reception was super warm and welcoming. The lobby is bright, modern, with good work spaces and coffee/tea machines. Location is convenient and quiet, next to Letzipark. Very nice, thank you !

Great value for money - a bit out of the city center but very accessible via the tram network. Generous room sizes, small kitchenette available. Always incredibly clean.

I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing this hotel was! The ladies at recption are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and very well equipped. I had everything I needed and even had a great view and balcony from my room! I would 100% stay here again and it was great value for money!

The staff of the Flag is very Service minded and extremely courteous 🤩. Especially I would highlight the kindness and attention of Natalia on the front desk. Many thanks ☺️

I found this hotel, and I am completely satsfied with my experience. Convenient location, at walking distance from Zürich Altstetten train station Hotel is new and well designed, I found the rooms really well designed and you can find really everything you need (incl. some bottles of water, some kitchen equipment, tea etc.) I stayed on a Sunday, which is cheaper, but prices seems in general very fair I will consider it again for sure when I am in Zürich

  • 4/5 Monica N. 9 months ago on Google
Fantastic value for money! Rooms are clean, fairly spacious, well equipped with very comfortable beds. Reception area that also serves for the breakfast is modern. The breakfast itself has all the basic ingredients such as fresh fruits and breads, yoghurt, cheese and coffee/nice tea. The receptionists were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Altstetten is about 20 minutes by bus or train from Zurich main station, but in an up and coming, pleasant neighborhood. For a city as expensive as Zurich, the Flag’s prices are super fair. Would definitely stay here again.

I celebrated my birthday weekend at The Flag Zurich, which was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and even surprised me with a complimentary birthday breakfast. The room was cozy and clean, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel's location was a little bit far from the city's center but easily accessible via tramway. I highly recommend The Flag Zurich for a quick stay in Zurich!

A terrible night in Zurich. The room is spacious and clean, receptionist is friendly. However, there is no blockout blind, so the street light gets in the room every corner, considering I got the corner room 105. I couldn't sleep as it's too bright. Moreover, there is no AC. Fan is a bit loud. I am sweating to sleep. This is my first time seeing a hotel without blockout blinds and AC. Such a disappointment and not what I've expected. Totally NOT recommended for people from cold country as you can't stand with the warmth without AC.

Kind of perfect location and that's it. Mattresses are very hard. You have only one blanket for the whole bed. Garage was not available and the parking place was full as well despite me visiting the garage and seeing 4 places free at 21:00 and the receptionist couldn't tell me if there are still people arriving/or how the booking system for the garage works, but of course a Porsche Cayenne with a hotel logo can stay in the garage on a place for people with disabilities by the way (this spot was then empty when we returned around midnight from the city centre). We parked our €150k car in a garage 300 meters away from the hotel and paid for it extra (which is not a problem) but I like to have the car nearby and under a camera (which was nowhere to be found in the aforementioned garage).

Nice and new looking hotel. Hotels are in a good size, with a small kitchen and basic needs. Location is a bit off the city, but you can reach downtown with a tram in 20min. For the price difference with other hotels I would totally come back here and recommend it. Also you have plenty of markets around, so easy to get a snack or a coffee.

Had a very nice stay at The Flag. The staff is very nice and helpful. Cleanliness is too good. Very well connected to all the public transport. Food outlets are around the corner. Just one drawback, they don’t have AC in the room, rest everything is amazing.

It was nice to stay in this hotel from December 24 to Jan First.Stay was good ... reception people friendly.. We paid 652 CHF for 24 to 31 excluding city tax but last one day when we wanted to stay extra they made us to pay 170 CHF . Be ready and book in advance to save few bucks.

Very nice and spacious room/bathroom, great location near Letzipark shopping center, also has great connection to city center with nearby tram nr.2. Very kind and pleasant staff. Aldi is some 200-300m from hotel as well. Would definitely recommend to my friends.

  • 2/5 Felix G. 2 years ago on Google
The service was sadly very bad. We had to wait one hour to get into our rooms, despite arriving at the schedules check in time. Furthermore the coffee machine was on maintenance during peak breakfast hours, leaving us wondering if the service personell was thinking even remotely about the service provided to the guests. Finally, when asking about getting 2 nespresso capsules for the room's coffee machine, the answer of the front office was: No, additional coffee capsules are not included. (saving 30 cents for the hotel, but also ensuring I would never ever come back in the future.)

Excellent apartment hotel. Very clean and modern. Late check-in was very straight forward using the pin they sent. Reception staff are really friendly and helpful. It is close to Alstetten train station and you can be in Zurich City Centre in 15 minutes. Nearby there are a few markets and a McDonalds so you won't starve. I will definitely be staying again.

Honestly The Flag Zurich impressed me. The room was clean, comfortable and sufficient. They provided ear plugs and were worried about the noise but it was only loud if you have very loud neighbours which is entirely not the fault of the venue. Tho I was still able to get sufficient sleep. The reception staff were extremely helpful. I was placed on isolation order a couple of hours after checking in and was in a state of panic. The staff were friendly and prompt to reply any queries I had and were very helpful throughout my entire stay there. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have such efficient service when you are having to deal with a whole other mess. Location wise it was great too! and very convenient to move around from even with public transport. I think the Flag is a real steal for the price of the room! I am surprised that this is marked as only a 2 star hotel. I have decided that if I ever am required to return to Zurich I would 100% choose to stay here again. *Edit : Just found out it wasn’t ear plugs but welcome sweets that were provided to me instead ! clearly didn’t need them before 😅

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I stayed here for more than 6 months. It is really warm, safe and clean, making me feel like a home. The staff are very nice! The location is perfect, close to the train station and many bus stops. But the surroundings of the hotel are actually very quiet. I would like to come again and stay here in future.

We stayed for one night in the hotel. The location was perfect as the train station was close to the hotel and 4’ from the center. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and the receptionist was very helpful, he provided us information that we needed. We recommend it for couples.

I stayed in Flag Zürich for 1 month. The room was warm, safe and clean. I would recommend twice per week cleaning for long-stay guests, because of the dust from the street. Everyone was kind and ready to help. Cleaning ladies were excellent! The reception warmly welcomed us and all the processes were into details. Especially Rafael, who is an incredible guy. Helpful, positive thinking, professional, always tried to resolve any issues and with a smile on his face. Thank you :) Liana

Loved the stay here, very friendly stuff and good service. The rooms are spacious with everything you d need from fridge to office to papers for work. The breakfast was also with a large variety. Can only recommend.

This hotel is perfect for a no-fuss stay. And without a doubt twice as good as the city center 3-star hotels. You get so much more for your money here! And a 10-minute walk and you have the best taco place in town as well. It´s a really quiet hotel, with good isolation which I really appreciate when in Zurich for work. Both to get sleep, and to focus on work in peace and when want to relax. The penthouse room feels like your own apartment, and the staff is quick to respond if anything. Would definitely stay again.

Unfriendly staff, no cleaning service for 3 days, not even replenish coffee capsules and asked me to buy at a machine requiring coins. Misleading picture on gym, which is a tiny tiny room… this hotel is a nightmare.

Stayed for almost a week at The Flag. What I loved the most: the friendly staffs, the strategic location (near trams, buses, trains), nice restaurants nearby, spacious room (we choose the comfort room), mini fridge, kitchenette, microwave downstairs, and decent selection of breakfast (the pain au chocolat and croissant is niceeeeeeeee with so many e's). The only downside is, the room accumulates dust so fast it defies human logic. 😭 Cleaning is done once per three days, so you'd have to get dust off your bed sheets yourself. Still recommend the place, though. 👍

  • 4/5 Patrick Dahl N. 1 year ago on Google
Comfortable and nice hotel. The room we had was very big, almost like a small apartment. There is a small kitchen with a sink and a fridge. In the bathroom there is no shower curtain, so basically the whole thing were flooded after a shower. They don't use keys/key cards, so instead you have to remember a 6 digit code to get in to your room. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast buffet had a very good variety. They have both an underground car park and a small lot next to the entrance. There is, of course, a fee for this. We were there during a heatwave and there's no A/C anywhere in the hotel, so it was really hot. The fan in the room didn't help much.. The cleaning could have been better, there were dog hairs on the floor in our room. And speaking of cleaning, they do not clean the rooms daily, unless you ask them to... Location wise it's a little far from the city center, but there's a tram about 5min walk away. However there's not a lot of restaurants close by. It seems to be a quiet neighborhood. Can recommend it, and we would stay there again.

  • 5/5 Justine M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice hotel, true to the pictures and description. Clean, peaceful, comfortable bed and nice staff. The breakfast looked good. Every room has a coffee and tea maker, a mini fridge and dishes. Lots of supermarkets in the area and places to sit. A little far from the city center, but plenty of public transport and the surrounding neighborhood is safe and nice to walk in. My only complaint was the internet was a little slow to hold my zoom calls, but otherwise fine for surfing the net.

  • 3/5 Michaela J. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed here for one night, we booked a Comfort Room. The room was clean, but it had no air condition. It had usb plugs which did not function, so we were not able to charge our phones. The breakfast was very simple, with little choice. Wifi was very slow. One of the things I appreciated was that in the breakfast area you can find free ice cream and a coffee machine that makes coffee/cappuccino/hot chocolate, etc.. that you can also take out. I was just honestly expecting more for the price. If I had other choices, I would have definitely chosen another structure.

  • 5/5 Ivor J. 1 year ago on Google
Friendly, welcoming and pleasant energy from Felix and the Staff team. Nice, high quality rooms. Big difference though in staying on the ground floor compared to the upper levels, as the noise from the road next to Hotel can be affecting. Helpfully the Flag provides complimentary ear plugs though. Room on the higher floor at side of building was peaceful, quite, and designed for quality rest. Rooms feel more like nice apartments than soulless, generic hotel “rooms”. Good value when booked through Hotel Tonight. Overall would highly recommend from an experience in Zurich.

Very kind and helpful staff, the hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice. It’s located a little outside the «main-city» (calm and quiet), but easy to take public transport or walk. There are many good restaurants nearby the hotell! :) Had a pleasant stay!

I had a temporary residence arranged for a month at The Flag, as part of my relocation for a tech company in Zurich. Overall it was an extremely enjoyable stay. The obvious highlight of which were the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome not just in the hotel but also in a new country! In particular, Felix was simply amazing, and was always a great start to our day. Chatting with him was probably what we enjoyed the most. He was naturally friendly and charming but also put in effort to cater to our various requests. The rooms were clean and quiet. The all you can eat breakfast was also great, with a large variety and quality of food.
