I just love the place. Unpretentious and always fun. The piano singer is great. If there is space, have a drink directly on the piano to maximize the fun!

American 20’s / 30’s jazz type of atmosphere. Very lively and chill. The performer is very friendly and inviting. Drinks are ok.

A great place - for both business and personal travel. Very clean rooms and excellent location, overall peaceful and one of the best possible places to stay short or long term in Zurich City! The management is very professional and helpful.

Had a few drinks at the bar after a late finish at work. It is one of the latest closing (long after midnight) bars in the area, particularly midweek. The key draw card here, which will define if this is your kind of scene, is the piano man. On the ground floor is a large piano played enthusiastically by a player/singer who has some background instruments playing off his laptop, which also represents his song sheet. The music is a mix of old and new well known pop, jazz and rock music. The music was all sung in English, of which the singer was not a native speaker. As a result, some of the lyrics ended up a little out of tempo and some lines omitted completely. This was not really a problem as the people around the piano were quite happy to join in and sing too. One night there they also had a microphone and a couple of the patrons were performing karaoke. Some of the patrons would take to the floor and dance. I never found it crowded, but never empty either. The vibe was happy and it suited me just fine. If you're trying to find a late closing bar in Old Town or piano bars are your scene, then check out Hotel Splendid.
