If I have a chance to visit Switzerland again, I will definitely visit Äss-Bar. I bought few items and took them back to my home country. They were nice! Keep up a great job!

Not a local but from what I can see, the individual single serving pastries/ breads are not that inexpensive at 1.5+ and the loaves of bread run from 2.50+ it seemed. It seemed like the full loaves were more worth it for the money but at the same time, I saw similar pricing at migros/ coop so not sure how it is saving they much money. If they were 0.50 or less francs for individual servings and maybe 1-1.5/ loaf bread, I could see buying the items. I am thinking I would rather pay for the same price fresh products that are not “day old”items. Employees were customer service friendly.

Love the concept behind this boulangerie. I visited äss-bar during a layover in Zurich and picked up a tuna sandwich and raspberry tart (total of 4.70 CHF). I ate right outside on one of the benches, which is covered and helped shield me from the rain. Both items were delicious and tasted fresh! Note: Amex is not accepted here but I bit the bullet and paid a currency exchange transaction fee which was fine because of how cheap the goods were!

5* - It is an award-winning idea, a future if you ask me! Zero-waste, delicious options, there's something for everybody here. Plus, it's a relatively good deal in an area where food is expensive. A great way to really make a difference. The company even provided catering for a conference I was attending (I realised that on the last day). I would really love to see more places like this around the world!
