I visit the Landesmuseum regularly with my friends. The museum is always entertaining, even when I come on my own. It's a great place to spend a rainy day. They often have a range of temporary exhibitions for movies, history, women's rights and what not. The exhibits are sometimes interactive which makes it a great pleasure to go with kids to.

Landesmuseum is a great place to learn about Switzerland and the Federation. It offers various presentation/rooms about different historical eras. I enjoyed it very much. I suggest to allocate enough time to visit the whole museum.

We spent 4 hours in the museum to explore everything. Temporary exhibitions are interactive, well presented, and informative. Toilets can easily be found. Lockers are provided upon buying a ticket. It would have been more efficient for indicators (posters) to be more visible. We originally went to see the "Tales from the Alps" temporary exhibition but went at the wrong part of the museum. So we spent two hours on other expositions. In the end we were approached then guided by the museum staff. The castle is huge and 10000% worth the visit. Rooms are splendid and items as well as facilities are well-maintained. I recommend to take the day off to visit this one. There is also an excellent coffee shop and souvenir shop to close your visit.

Beautiful museum with lots of different exhibits. Currently Baroque period has a special exhibit. I also learned from the History of Switzerland and the Anne Frank Exhibit.

It's just ok. I guess it's beacuse Switzerland was always neutral! It's basically a museum of the Swiss constitution with many interactive experiences! The gift shop is amazing . I brought myself a swiss army pen knife right from the source! The cafeteria is also good. The courtyard is massive and extremely beautiful!

Now (early December), there is a small market filled with lights and food huts.

Always pleasant to visit, even if just the spaces outside the museum. Was a food fest going on when we got there. Nice setting and good facilities.

Christmas market called illuminarium is beautiful. Packed with people too. 🤪 Been told that the summer day rave must be great too. Food (🫕) was good, but we waited way too long.

Went to the Illuminarium show before Christmas - the lights are beautiful; the story this year was rather poor.

For summer and winter time very cool to visit. Outside u can have nice food with drinks. Winter time there is a light show. It’s amazing. Until midnight opens. No entrance fee.

Purpose built museum over a hundred years ago. Really interesting exhibitions such as the Sleigh one on at present, some dating back to the 1700s. Come up though the ZBB exit directly to the front entrance as with all construction outside can easily get lost. Staff are excellent and very willing to help or explain.

It’s like entering a fairytale; the building is as pretty as Louvre, plus the variety of items presented inside is mind blowing. And Illuminarium shows right now - at Christmas time - adds even more magic💫

The museum is beautiful and very interesting, however the whole experience was ruined when I noticed I was being followed across exhibitions. As a person of color I’m not a stranger to these situations, but being followed in a museum was definitely a first. I’m still unsure on what they thought I could steal??? An artefact or a painting? I’m still very puzzled but I guess I’ll never find out.

Found the displays very interesting. It is a bit much to try to cover all in one visit.

Can I say nothing special? Worth 1 hour of visit if the weather is bad

Had the opportunity to see this location back in February 2020. Even though it was being remodeled and restored, the location projected a grand and delightful experience of architecture, culture and history.
