Stopped in for a spot of lunch to escape the souks, ended up coming back another day because of how good it was! You have to try the spiced coffee, not sure what's in it but boy is it good. Houmous was super fresh, and the Moroccan salad was amazing. Great vibes up on the terrace, with brilliant views across town.

Incredible breakfast place with 3 floors of seats and tablets therefore you can select between the street level, the mid one with the fireplace and the rooftop. Highly recommended! You can pay by card which is extremely useful to know in advance!

Decent place for a pit stop and break among walking around the Medina. Just ate a bit and had a drink but good to catch out breath here in this central location. Had been eating tajines for the last couple of days so good to have something different. Only non-alcoholic drinks sold here if you are wondering.

Had a nice simple dinner here, the food is fresh and the staff are warm and friendly. It overlooks the spice market and is a nice spot for a tea or a meal to watch the sunset. Nice to get above the hustle and bustle for a bit. Update: came back 2 days later for lunch because this place was better than any of the others I tried. I've upgraded my review to 5 stars. What stands out is that the staff are so nice and welcoming without being pushy, and the atmosphere on the terrace is so lovely. The food is good, although that's pretty standard for the local Moroccan cuisine restaurants. If you've had enough of the noise, bustle and hard selling in the souks, I can highly recommend taking a break here.

Very nice place inside the heart of the medina. We tried the kefta tajine and it was really delicious. The waiter was also very polite. If you want something cheap with flavor, with a view of the market, then I think you will enjoy this place.

Great terrace for sunset, nice atmosphere, plenty of seating area indoor and outdoor. Short but comprehensive menu with reasonable prices. Service is slow

While visiting Marrakesh, I looked around for great tagine and this place was highly recommended. It did not disappoint. I had the lamb tagine with vegetables, and it was absolutely delicious. It is right in the heart of the Medina. It was a great atmosphere. There were lots of people, but not too crowded. There was plenty of seating, both out in front and upstairs. The last time I was in morocco was over six years ago. I have literally been dreaming about Moroccan food for the last six years.

5 stars just for the service, courteous staff with friendly faces. We loved every dish we had as a big group. Food came in quickly and it was delicious. Loved it ❤️

Loved this place! The position is very nice but the star of the show is the tajine eggs and meat balls. Been a while since I had a nice one like this. Only thing that could have made it the best meal of my stay is if there were french fries in the menu, had to order potatoes but it wasn’t the same. Perfect spot for sunset pictures and well positioned in Marrakech

We ordered a chicken(left) and a beef burger(right). This is what we received, the chicken burger didnt quite match up with our expectations. The quantity for the price was too low, drinks are a bit on the higher end too. Further it was a relaxing place with a great view on the square. The taste was good, but basic. A tip of 10% was included in the bill, which was unexpected and too much.

A nice view over the medina! The service was really nice, but unfortunately the food really wasn't great. Not bad, but we were disappointed after having read reviews and having vegetable tagine that had almost no flavor. A good meal, but unfortunately nothing special.

Sensational view from terrace of this venue. The food is also very nice, just slightly touristy but that’s because everyone wants to go here.

Three-level cafe next to a busy but pleasant square in the Medina. Ideal for having some mint tea while people watching and viewing the sunset.

Lovely spot overlooking a square - can sit and people watch nicely and be chilled. Lovely tea, pastries. We went back for dinner too - food generally very nice, but the veggie tagine seemed a bit dry. Houmous great though. I’d recommend.

Good place and clearly very popular. Food was good as well, and service was quick. The issue I had was that it was so busy people were scrambling to get seats. They need a bit more control over seating guests.

It is a very touristy and busy place, but it's a welcome break from the streets, stopping for tea or some food. Also has a great view of the spice market, especially in the evening. Terrace is very crowded most times. I recommend the middle floor, next to the large windows, not too crowded and you get a great view.

Worst meal I had in Morocco. My friend and I had lunch in this restaurant, when a boy on our next table spilled his coffee. My friend white trouser was ruined and the women next door said NOTHING about her sons fault. Did not apologize. And the very interesting thing was, the waiter here clean their table really fast, said sorry to the women (for her own son spilled his coffee?), and totally ignored the coffee mess on our table, ignored how much my friend need napkins to clean her trouser. I asked about napkins, then the waiter finally bring us some. The next thing is I confronted the women about why she did not apologize, she said it’s nothing about her. They don’t apologize about that kind of things on their culture. I was so shocked So I asked where she came from. She said Morocco. Oh, that’s why the waiter treated us that different since the second we entered this restaurant. After saw I confronted the woman and I am not a soft person, I suddenly received a not sincere apologize from the waiter. I can tell you it’s fake and she did not mean it. I felt very unwelcome from the waiter’s service. And I saw people from her own country is very welcome, which can be told from her good service and smile. I like Morocco and Marrakech. People usually friendly and that’s why people traveling here. So the thing I encountered here is totally blew my mind. I was ultimately disappointed. If someone traveling here and want a pleasant meal, my suggest? be careful. Also, the staff in charged of bills? She did not gave us our change. And she did it without Explanation!! I asked, and she gave us a ‘uehhhh’ look, said she don’t have it. It’s not about the money, its totally about her altitude. Omg!

Walking through Marrakech, we felt the urge for coffee, and as expected, it's practically everywhere here. We stumbled upon this place, where a friendly gentleman downstairs informed us about available seating upstairs. We ascended to the rooftop, seven of us comfortably fitting around two tables. The view was pleasant, prices reasonable. It's hard to comment on the food as we only had espresso, cappuccino, mint tea, and three iced teas, but it was worth going upstairs and spending an hour enjoying the atmosphere.

The place was amazing, you can see the mountains in the horizont, the beef burger tasted amazing, it wasn't your ordinary meat, it had tasty spices and herbs, totally recommend it! After walking all day through the streets of Medina, this was the perfect place to relax!

very good restaurant, we sat on the third level and really enjoyed the view and the food. the lamb tagine was delicious, as was the chicken tagine. service was also very good and we were pleased with the food and the atmosphere. there are three levels to dine in and the top is definitely very nice.

The location of this cafè is great, situated in a beautiful square. There are many places to sit too. We got a range of things and loved each dish (although my favourite was the bruchettas of vegetables). My bartender friend also raged about the mojito. The staff were also very lovely and patient with us. Thank you!

Views 🤩, food 🤩 especially for the price. Probably the best tagine we had there.. good selection on menu and drinks. Only thing getting to roof top area there are stairs(tight) on east and west side of the building, people would be going up on west staircase but I think that was the exiting staircase - so one or the other would have to back up and let the other come through

We came here twice during our trip due to WiFi and toilet facilities, as well as a peaceful location overlooking the busy square. The first time we had breakfast - we got the full Moroccan option and it was super delicious and a lot of food for a good price. Only issue was a really long wait of around 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The second time we decided to get some sandwiches as we already had a tagine that day - these were also nice but much smaller and worse value for money. I would definitely recommend coming here for breakfast!

Visited here in February 2020 but despite being almost three years ago my memory of this wonderful restaurant is still fresh. There was an exceptionally diverse and accessible menu, with options ranging from traditional Moroccan dishes to seasoned avocado toast. Additionally, the views from the terrace were great as you could see all of what Marrakesh has to offer while enjoying lunch. Whenever I'm back in the city, I'll be sure to return to Café Des Épices!

Really nice spot in a little square in the souks, recommend getting the cinnamon coffee and iced tea. Great selection for food although we just stopped for a drink. A little bit more pricey due to location - but worth it!

Had a delicious Berber omelette which had a generous serving of eggs, olives and tomatoes. Spiced tea had a fragrance but lacked flavour. Nice view of the market and the service was excellent.

The place is quite big. The staff was very nice and were very accommodating in fitting our very big group of 40 people. The food was great. Definitely try the hummus! They also have a very nice view of the souk just outside the restaurant. I highly recommend this place, pretty cheap too!

The Location has a nice view from the roof. The tables and chairs are not the most comfortable ones. The meals were really tasty and we found them to be great. The sprinklers that make you cool down are turned on too often but thats a small thing. All in all it was great considering it was affordable.

Lovely place to chill and soak in the sun in the middle of the souks. Great menu with a good selection of drinks and food. Pretty fast service. The views from the rooftop are amazing! Really helpful and polite staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Considering how busy this place gets, the bathroom situation isn’t great though.

Limited menu, but good food. We ordered chicken burgers (that looked like arepas) and kefta tagine (which is a plate with eggs and meatballs), served with water and coke. It was around 8/9 euros per person. The restaurant is well located and has good views.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stepping into Café des Épices is akin to stepping into a vibrant vignette of Marrakech life, one where succulent aromas and sublime views intertwine to create a memorable dining experience. Nestled in the heart of the bustling Rahba Lakdima, this eatery is a charming oasis of tranquility overlooking the lively Place des Épices. Dinner was a tale of two tagines. My lamb tagine, a traditional Moroccan dish, was a culinary tour-de-force - the lamb succulent, falling off the bone, delicately spiced and beautifully balanced, evoking images of grand Marrakech feasts under starry desert skies. My companion's vegetarian tagine, on the other hand, was a bit of a discordant note. The vegetables, although fresh and vibrant, seemed to have resisted the slow simmer characteristic of a tagine, resulting in an unanticipated crunch. While some may appreciate this for the added texture, it strayed a bit from the expected tender surrender of vegetables to the slow-cooked charm of a Moroccan tagine. But it was as the sun began to set that Café des Épices revealed its masterstroke - the view. As we ascended to the rooftop, Marrakech unrolled beneath us in a stunning panorama. The sun setting over the city painted the sky in hues of pink and orange, the rooftops awash in golden light, while the sounds of the Place des Épices floated up, a background score to our elevated feast. It was a sight to behold, an unforgettable tableau that firmly cemented Café des Épices in my memory. While the culinary journey had its highs and lows, the overall experience was undoubtedly enriching. I would recommend Café des Épices to any traveler seeking to experience the traditional Moroccan cuisine amidst the backdrop of Marrakech's enchanting "skyline." A hint of advice: secure a seat at the rooftop around sunset. You'll thank me later.

Booze free rooftop cafe and restaurant right amongst the souks. Come up for air and fresh Moroccan mint tea poured ceremoniously from a height. Bring shades and soak up the sunshine before diving back into the thick of it.

Well, this café is really known for its environment which is so calm. The food and drinks are perfect with a reasonable price. The view is absolutely incredible with a panoramic top roof. It's worth a stop and of course a visit before you continue your journey through the narrow streets of Marrakech all the way to the hear of the city (Jemaa el fnaa).

Great cute spot for locals and tourists. In the middle of the markets and it has a rooftop, easy menu and not too expensive. Good easy find not to lose yourself searching for good options. I suggest you try the lamb tajin with apricots and Wall nuts

Great place to hang out a while! The wifi isn’t good so you can’t work here, but it’s perfect for reading or people watching. They have a bottom seating area on the street, middle area with air conditioning, and rooftop terrace. Definitely try their iced tea with lemonade:)

Looks like very popular place among tourist, unfortunately don't serve alcohol. However, sunset view is great from their terrace. We went to have a snack, plan was to take some beer but as they didn't serve the visit for us was quite short. But from the snack quality it looked that their kitchen has really good quality.

  • 4/5 Abbigail V. 1 year ago on Google
This place was awesome! The view was stunning, the people were kind and helpful, and the food was great. The only reason for taking a star off is because most of the food was cold when it got to us. The hummus was delicious and flavorful. The chicken “burger” was the best thing we had. Otherwise, the potatoes were old and cold and the paris/marrakesh burger had waaay too much bun and was kinda dull. All around great place for tourists.

Lovely cafe where you can either have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! The staff is super friendly and it worthy getting a table at their lil rooftop when is sunny outside! We went for a small breakfast and then for dinner, and we loved the kafta tagine.

Went here for dinner and sat on the rooftop. We tried a variety of items, found the menu easy to navigate, had a few questions for the waiter and he answered them without hesitation. Food tasted good, would recommend the hummus and lamb tagine.

Very nice lunch experience, on the rooftop terrace! Yummy tagines and mock tails. Would definitely recommend for lunch or dinner. Many vegetarian options available too.

  • 3/5 Y J. 1 year ago on Google
Nice atmosphere but way too busy during lunchtime, so don't come here if you can't wait more than at least half hour for food. Taste is ok, but not authentic tagine at least for the tagine kefta I ordered, they use canned tomato sauce instead of fresh tomatoes... so it won't taste bad but not authentic for me... service is slow due to lots of customers.
