My best friend and I eat here often. It’s one of the best, no frills cafes in the inner west. Just some good old wholesome grub. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, and the coffee is great! Service is always friendly and delivered with a smile, and the music is always on point. Check it out!

REALLY delicious burgers! A friend & I ordered one of the Cheeseburger & the Big Boi each, then (almost) halved them & shared (I say almost because I was very bad with my halving). I preferred the Cheeseburger because I'm not a big fan of caramelised onions, but my friend rather delighted in the rich flavour of the Big Boi. Coffee was excellent & service was friendly & fast. I was a bit disappointed with the cake I ordered (strawberries & cream) in that it was just a bit too much plain butter cream icing & the cake didn't have the bang of flavour I'd hoped it would. Overall, an EXCELLENT place for brunch/lunch (and probably breakfast, but I mean who actually eats breakfast before 11?)

Accidentally stumbled upon this cafe/ restaurant and was impressed to see that the menu was all vegetarian and/or vegan friendly. I ordered the Hawaiian toastie with an iced chai latte, while my boyfriend got the salt & pepper calamari special. Unfortunately, both dishes missed the mark. The crunchy bread and “cheese” were great but the vegan prosciutto had an unpleasant texture (sticky??) and scent. It was difficult to finish it all. Similarly, the calamari dish was a generous serving and the calamari itself had a realistic texture ..but it carried a strange taste - perhaps the pepperberry?? This was paired with a Thai-style salad and it was evident that the flavours weren’t properly balanced. We were still rather hungry after all the food but didn’t order more. Service was okay - one server had a bad attitude while another was very friendly. — ⚠️ I was very hesitant in posting this because I was worried a certain crowd may perceive my views to be unfair or biased. However, not all vego places are mediocre - take Pizza Madre for example. As non vegan/ vego customers, it would be too embarrassing to raise this with the staff there. However, I would be doing a disservice to the general public if I didn’t post my experience. Evidently, the high star rating and significant number of positive google reviews show that this restaurant is doing everything right. Please make an informed judgment based on everything you read.

This is the second time I've been here. We were a party of 4 and visited on a Sunday at around 10 am, and we didn't take long to be seated, which is pretty surprising for the time and day of the week. Service was flawless and all our food came at the same time. All their menu is vegetarian and it's really tasty, I recommend the Working Girl. Portions are decent and it's a good pricing too, also, their pastries and cakes are wonderful.

Absolutely love this cafe, I'm here almost every week it seems. Delicious cakes, lovely service and tasty vegan food (I recommend the big duck energy). Only critique is that the cocktails are quite small but easily a favourite spot for breakfast

I came here for the high tea event on the 26th February and everything was absolutely delicious. The whole spread was vegan and the staff were friendly & accommodating. The owners of Ruby Lonesome are fantastic. I had been following their Instagram account for a while and saw that the high tea event was happening and enquired about accessibility. Nicolette got back to me fairly quickly with comprehensive information about the accessibility which is more uncommon than you'd expect. There are a few steps in the front door & a few extra ones inside up to the bathroom however they will accommodate you as much as possible! I was able to be sat in the courtyard which worked perfectly. I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

Absolutely wonderful lunch, Buddha bowl was delicious. They very patient with finding something for my elderly father who can’t swallow solids, they went out of their way to help. Plus one of the servers had a Smiths T-shirt on, doesn’t get better.

The sweetest staff ever and some of the best vegan cakes you can find in Sydney! I ordered the fairy bread cake and I was honestly astounded at the smell and the taste of the cake. The cake is perfectly dense and pairs so well with the sweet frosting which is perfectly distributed through the two layers of icing. I cannot wait to try other cake specials in the future, keep up the amazing work! Additionally, there is very accessible parking at either side of this venue so it’s easy to get to.

A great place for vegan or vegetarian options in Sydney brunch scene ! (I think they also operate at night). The fake duck and brown rice dish I had with asparagus was very well seasoned and delicious and the oat flat white I had was very good too! I recommend this place for anyone curious to check out alternative brunch options!

We'd had an early flight so were looking for a nice pit stop to have a rest before tackling the city. This place was recommended by our Airbnb hosts and it did not disappoint! It's a vegetarian café with LOADS of vegan alternatives/options. They have a wide range of cakes and teas (of which we shared a couple; both were delicious. The raspberry, vanilla & rose cake in particular was great). We had the Greenies Smashed Avo Toast and the Budda Bowl for brunch which we can highly recommend.

J’adore Ruby lonesome! Beautiful vego food, lovely staff and gorgeous decor. It’s so nice to be able to go this one-stop cafe for a weekday morning classic big breaky and then stop by on a weekend evening for a fancy tasting menu with cocktails and mood lighting. Also so rare for a cafe/restaurant to excel not only at the savoury menu items but to also have mouthwateringly delicious daily cakes and sweet treats - the cheesecake on the native Australian tasting menu changed my life. My only wish is that they would transition to be fully vegan, but considering it’s 88% there already I’m not gonna hold it against them - i can tell they are trying their best and it is beautiful to see a place with such heart and soul ❤️

Had some delicious brunch here with a friend. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating if you want to bring your canine friend! We shared some cakes and had the "duck" with greens and rice as we were feeling like something with an Asian stir fry vibe and it certainly did not disappoint! All the cakes here are delicious but my favourite was the chocolate peppermint cake! Looking forward to coming back here to try the native tasting menu they do in the weekend afternoon/evenings!

Amazing cafe all the dishes we ordered were incredible, wholesome and delicious - so much care and thought has gone in prepping and making each and every one of these dishes so that the taste is harmonious and cohesive 😎😁😘👌🥰❤️. Thank you Chefs and team for catering to my dietary requirements! My partner loved it and he isn't vegetarian and commended the food and wants to come back for more 😁😎! We came for a ticketed high tea event for my 30th Birthday and also when they had a limited Australian native tasting menu which was innovative and creative and absolutely delicious. Well done Ruby Lonesome, captured my heart and stomach and very keen on trying more of your menu 🥰🤩😍😘!! I love you Ruby Lonesome 💝 I ended up buying their home made jam. The coffee is good, the drinks are lovely too and highly recommend visiting this place 🥰😁❣️ exceeded expectations and was excellent!!! Music created nice ambience feel so I recommend sitting inside if you can

My favourite cafe! I've loved everything I've tried from the menu - great breakfast, lunch, and recently evening tapas food. It's a beautiful place to sit and eat at, with a lovely chill vibe and amazing service. Couldn't recommend more!
