Sydney Aquarium is a public aquarium that features a large variety of Australian aquatic life, displaying more than 700 species comprising more than 13,000 individual fish and other sea and water creatures from most of Australia's water habitats. Opened in 1988. The aquarium features 14 themed zones including Jurassic Seas, Discovery Rockpool, Shark Walk, and the world's largest Great Barrier Reef display. Along the way, visitors encounter animals unique to each habitat, including one of only four dugongs on display in the world, sharks, stingrays, penguins and tropical fish, among others. It is a public aquarium located in the city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the eastern side of Darling Harbour to the north of the Pyrmont Bridge.

Wonderful aquarium right in the heart of Sydney. See an amazing array of sea life and walk through the clear tunnel with sharks and rays swimming right over the top of you. A must do if in Sydney

I went to this place twice! In same trip 😊 The most beautiful place to be if you wish to visit most exotic species. The most exciting for me - the cute penguins playing around and walking so cutely. I even saw them swimming 😍 Also, Dugong, playing and entertaining everyone was one of a site. There were sharks 🦈 in the aquarium. So dangerous looking amd wild. But it was all around me. Every tiny to huge fish 🎣 in aquarium. Must take the passes and visit. Penguins watching closed early so don’t be late.

It's been here so long that you don't know how much is the same and how much is new. On the world stage level it's not a large aquarium. Unfortunately they took out some of the space for the Wildlife Park & Wax Museum. They try to cram as much into the space as possible. The penguin ride that was closed for 2 years is open again, the queues are getting longer again. The exhibits change with seasons a bit, so you'll need to see what is there when you arrive.

Great fun for the whole family. Staff are friendly and helpful. Please plan your day and allow at least two hours to navigate you're way around the aquarium maze. Theirs many different attractions to see. Gift shop conveniently located at the exit point of the maze. So you'll be taking something home.

A nice area to wander around in with lots of to and plenty of choice for eats. Stay for dinner to get the best views. There is a park for the kids, but be careful - there are many areas with no rail at the water's edge.

Wonderful place to experience the aquatic life of Australia. Do take the boat ride to experience the star attraction being the penguins.

Marvellous except for the jam packed crowds, must take mask, do not go for 11:30/10:30, huge crowds, lots of prams, children people v v close proximity to each other, must be avoided during the weekend 10:30/11:00 spots, weekdays, early morning/ late evening better

Had heard so much good about this aquarium but left feeling unimpressed. Particular pain point aggressive exit shop you can't avoid pushing terrible overpriced toys and criminally priced photo booth with 1990s CGI pushing you a lot to buy 3 photos for $38, and telling you you can't take photos of the screen. Pretty sure they've got no right to do that after all you took photos of me and my kids and the photos are on public display. That all left a bad taste, but even disregarding that the aquarium itself pretty limited, crowded, and extortionately priced. Won't return and definitely would recommend any visitor or tourist not to attend. Can see more on most beaches, and the rave cave fake barrier reef was like a window into the future apocalypse post-bleached GBR where that's all that's left to remind kids of what the reef used to look like.

Upgraded since I was last here. Enjoyed the penguins and lovely tank set ups. Pricey but you could imagine costly to staff and run. The kids had a ball.

👍👍 Good ferry service! Can not buy tickets online as a foreigner. Best way seems to be buying tickets at Alfamart across the road. From our Grab driver dropping us of at the Alfamart to the ship leaving, was about 15 minutes for us. Obviously we got lucky with departure times and wait lines, but still....
