You can reach the Teltschickturm by hiking, either from Heidelberg or from Dossenheim, though it is quite high and requires a good base...

👍👍 Contrary to what I thought, this was not built by the Romans, but by the third Reich. It was used as a place of gathering and propaganda. But nowadays it's a peaceful place and a good hiking spot. There is a nice view of the city and you can spend some time admitting the scenery.

👍👍 A great game reserve with wild boars, goats, billy goats and mouflons. There are many paths through the forest and around the enclosure. There is also a small football field and a playground nearby.

👍👍 The ascent is a bit difficult and more of a trail, but definitely worth it. The ruin is still well preserved and very large. Very interesting.

👍👍 The castles provide a spectacular view over the Neckar river. The best one is the Hinterburg, the Mittelburg has no access because it is in private ownership. The Schadeck castle was also closed. Parking lot is beneath the path leading to the Hinterburg.

👍👍 Eine tolle Wanderung vom Parkplatz des Märchenparadies Heidelberg zum Felsenmeer. Ca. 5 km und 150 Höhenmeter für Kids ab fünf Jahren gut machbar. Der Weg ist toll gestaltet und sehr gut ausgebaut. Ab der Hälfte wird es bergig und man sollte gutes Schuhwerk haben.
