We walked (with three young kids) from Bensheim Auerbach train station to the castle, and it took 42 minutes. The return journey only took about 28 minutes. Be sure to have some water and snacks. However, very doable hike, even with kids.

👍👍 Beautiful castle ruins, which invites you to linger. The ascent is possible over a shorter, steep path or a slightly longer but easier way. In the castle ruins are numerous benches, from which a beautiful view of the surroundings is possible.
