Best places: Gyms in Borgarnes, Iceland

👍👍 We are visiting Iceland from the U.S. and did a drop in WOD. We loved it! Large facility. Challenging class with an excellent coach. He explained the workout in English for us. Everyone was so friendly! We plan to go again!

👍👍 It was a great pleasure to meet and train alongside the mountain himself making me feel like a dwarf at 6ft2 lol But as a boxer and boxing coach while I was out in Iceland I had to see the training difference in strongman training and just weightlifting and I was literally blown the different variet...

👍👍 This place really blew my mind. Hard training and friendly staff. And the facilities are amazing! I dropped in on single classes during a week. If you’re not a beginner I highly recommend this place.

👍👍 Grabbed a week pass while traveling from the US. The gym was great, had a wide variety of equipment. Strong man area, power lifting platforms and all the goodies for great gym adventures. The hidden gem is the selection of hot tubs, steam room and relaxing water features. Superior!

👍👍 Amazing staffed geotermal pool. The location itself is terrific. The water has natural algæ that are beneficial for the skin, on top of the main pool there 3 extra small pools, one of which with 4 degrees water which works wonders for the circulation or for cooling off. 👍 For context, my wife and I are from Seattle and climb regularly (5.11-5.12). For someone visiting, this is essentially exclusively a bouldering gym. There is a small (20-30ft high) wall that has an auto-belay set up on it, but using the wall requires a special test/certification that’s not regularl...

😠 The coaches who work there do not respect people

👍👍 Good setup, everything new and well maintained. Two deadlift setups, 3 squat racks and 2 benches for normal bench press.

👍 This is the local gym for the West side of Reykjavik. It is connected to the swimming pool. I like going here in the afternoons or mornings because there's less people. It can get packed after 5 and often the weightlifting area is packed at those times.

👍👍 Nice relaxing spa in the city! The waiting/chill area is super nice, and massage staff were really great, calming, experienced and professional.

👍 Large gym. 2 floors, the basement seems like a crossfit area. The cardio machines, free weights & weight machines are on the 1st floor (above entering the gym). The free weights are wear & tear. May not be enough for heavy powerlifters, but sufficient for normal training (up to 150kg perhaps). The...

😐 Nice equipment and polite cleaning staff, but.... This gym is frequently a mess in the morning, with weights, garbage, accessories..etc all over the gym. They apparently close a half hour early (which i suppose is their time to clean up for the morning people). The people are often late opening up...

👍👍 It's at nice location with great range of equipment. There is dry sauna, hot tub and cold water vessel. And there are various group exercising activities.
