👍👍 Lovely little site on the edge of Ashwell. 3 pubs to choose from, good walks across farm tracks, village has a few shops. Staff helpful and friendly. Stay there regularly.

Riverside paths lead through a rural area with coarse fishing ponds, walks, event space and camping.

Camping grounds with 180 acres of countryside, 12 lakes and 2 rivers, plus waterskiing and fishing.

Pretty 18th-century pub with flower baskets and tables by the canal, serving unpretentious pub grub.

Individually decorated rooms and cottages on a 38-acre farm, plus dining and a cosy lounge/bar.

However the facilities and play area do need to be rebuilt, and as yet there is no use of renewable energy for water heating or electricity etc. Also the site is generally populated by lazy ineducates who seem unable to recycle...

🫤 The staff are some good some not. The place is sited on a landfill site so work can only be done with council approval, hence the state of it. Stone age facilities must cost a fortune to run. But an excellent location with buses and cycling one would expect in a major city like Oxford

👍 Many thanks Vanessa for allowing us to stay at your most relaxing site. The facilities were as expected, clean and convenient. Being so close to the canal was a bonus. I have given you a 4 rating as we didn’t have chance to explore the area more, but hope to do so on our next visit.
